Adventurer’s Guild Expanded is an expansion for the Adventurer's Guild, complete with new quests, 30+ story events, new romanceable NPCs, and the ability to befriend and recruit a friendly monster to live on your farm! It’s even compatible with mods like SVE and RSV!

After you’ve played at least 15 in-game days and have completed the Adventurer’s Guild initiation, you’ll be able to trigger a new event at the Adventurer’s Guild. Completing the ‘Expanding the Guild’ quest will unlock the Monster Research Wing of the Adventurer’s Guild dedicated to researching the monsters that live in the local mines. In addition, Marlon’s nephew and niece will move to Stardew Valley to help run the Monster Research Wing!

After the Monster Research Wing is built, two new romanceable NPCs will move to Stardew Valley! Expand the spoilers underneath an NPC's name to learn more about them!

Gabriel is Marlon’s nephew and Zinnia’s older brother. He runs the Monster Research Wing and dedicates most of his time to studying the dangerous monsters that lurk in the caves, trying to find a way to get rid of them in order to stop future problems. A traumatic incident he had as a young child caused him to become closed off and reserved - he rarely talks to people and believes that making friends is a waste of time that could be used to further his research.

10 Heart Event (“Love Mountain”)
Part 1: After viewing Gabriel’s 8 Heart Event, exit the farmhouse between 6:00 AM and 4:00 PM. You must be dating or married to Gabriel.
Part 2: After viewing part 1 of the event, enter the Bus Stop between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM. You must be dating or married to Gabriel.


14 Heart Event (“She’s Still With Us”)
Part 1: After viewing Gabriel’s 10 Heart Event, exit the farmhouse between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM. You must be married to Gabriel.
Part 2: After viewing part 1 of the event, enter the mines with a ‘Boquet’ in your inventory. You must be married to Gabriel.

Zinnia is Marlon’s niece and Gabriel’s younger sister. She’s a friendly and optimistic “sunshine” girl, who just wants to meet new people and experience everything that Stardew Valley has to offer. She is often disregarded in her family for not having a stable goal or passion, but that won’t stop her from trying out everything and having a good time!

4 Heart Event (“Daniel’s Confrontation)
Enter the Adventurer’s Guild between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM.


6 Heart Event (“Book of Dreams”)
Enter the Library/Museum after seeing her 4-Heart Event.


8 Heart Event (“Zinnia’s Discovery”)
After reaching 8 Hearts and viewing her 6-Heart Event, Zinnia will send you letter in the mail. Enter the Mines after reading Zinnia’s letter to trigger the event.


10 Heart Event (“Once In A Blue Moon”)
After reaching 10 Hearts and viewing her 2-Heart Event and 8-Heart Event, Zinnia will send you a letter in the mail. Enter the Mines between 8:00 PM and 12:00 AM after reading Zinnia’s letter to trigger the event. You must be dating or married to Zinnia.


14 Heart Event (“A Field of Zinnias”)
Part 1: After viewing Zinnia’s 6-Heart and 8-Heart Events, exit the farmhouse between 6:00 AM and 9:00 PM. You must be married to Zinnia.
Part 2: After viewing Part 1 of the event, enter the Flower Paradise anytime with a ‘Life Essence’ in your inventory. You must be married to Zinnia.


Gain friendship with Zinnia and Gabriel and learn more about their goals, personality, and insecurities. You may even learn about their past - just what happened with their mother? Why does their father have a disdain for adventuring? You’ll have to play to find out!

If you choose to agree with Zinnia during the ‘Slime Soul’ event, Silly the slime will become a giftable NPC. Silly is a slime, originally born in the mines, who was summoned to the Research Wing and mutated due to the energy found in pure iridium. After a visit to the Wizard, the player will be able to understand Silly and converse with them. 

Silly will initially be forced to stay in the Monster Research Wing, but after completing the Zinnia path of the ‘Slime Research’ questline, Silly will begin visiting the town and other places around the valley. After reaching 10 hearts with Silly, the player will have the option of inviting Silly to live on the farm. After completing the corresponding quest, Silly will move into a new basement underneath the farmhouse.

8 Heart Event (“Silly Is Ready!”):
This event is part of the ‘Slime Research Quest’ when Zinnia’s path is chosen. 
Part 1: After completing “The Final Step” quest (reaching 8 hearts with Silly), Zinnia and Silly will greet you as you exit your farmhouse anytime between 6:00 AM and 12:00 PM on a sunny day.
Part 2: After viewing Part 1, enter the town on a sunny day before 8:00 PM.


10 Heart Event (Silly’s New Home)
Part 1: After viewing Silly’s 8 heart event (part 2), enter town on a sunny, non-winter day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
Part 2: If the player chose to allow Silly to move in, they will be given a quest. After delivering 100 hardwood to Robin and completing the quest, Robin will greet them as they leave the farmhouse the next day.
Part 3: After viewing Part 2, enter the newly constructed Monster Basement.
After completing the quest (regardless of if you view Part 2 or 3), Silly will move into the Monster Basement underneath the farmhouse the next day.

Daniel is Gabriel and Zinnia’s father and Marlon’s brother-in-law. He works as a Police Officer in Zuzu City. After the death of his wife, he becomes extremely disapproving of the Adventurer’s Guild. He sees so much of his wife in Zinnia, and thus he is very protective of her and believes that she will endanger herself if she leaves his side.

After viewing Zinnia’s 4 Heart Event, Daniel will sometimes visit the Adventurer’s Guild. You can find him hanging outside the Monster Research Wing, near Gil.

Daniel is planned to be expanded to a fully giftable and romanceable NPC in a future update.


 Daisy:

Daisy was Gabriel and Zinnia’s mother, Marlon’s sister, and Daniel’s wife. Her passion in life was exploring the cave system to find wondrous, hidden mystical secrets. However, an accident causes her sudden death, leaving a big impact on Gabriel and Daniel.

Daisy appears in several of Gabriel and Zinnia’s heart events.





Adventurer's Guild Expanded has many different questlines, each with its own rewards and events. Each main questline deals with exploring the secrets of a different monster race, but there are other smaller questlines available as well! Below you can find summaries/tips for each questline if you are stuck or need help. 

Expand the text under a questline’s name to see the quests included. 

Expanding The Guild:
Marlon is interested in expanding the Guild and opening a new research wing. Will you help him?

“Expanding The Guild” #1

Bring Robin 600 pieces of wood. You need to deliver them directly to her all at once (attempting to gift her with a stack of wood less than 600 will result in you gifting them to her).

“Expanding The Guild” #2

Wait 2 days after you complete “Expanding The Guild” #1. One day after you completed the quest, Robin will greet you as you exit the farmhouse. Two days after you complete the quest, Marlon will write you a letter informing you of the Guild’s expansions, and you can enter the Guild to finish this quest.


 Slime Research:
The first monster race you and Gabriel will explore is the slimes - the squishy, seemingly cute creatures that can be deadly if ignored. How can they be calmed and stopped from hurting other humans? It’s up to you to figure that out!

“Monster Research Wing”

After meeting Gabriel and Zinnia, simply enter the new Monster Research Wing of the Adventurer’s Guild. This will begin the “Slime Research” questline.


“Slime Research: Step 1”

Slay 30 GREEN slimes in the mines. Only green slimes will satisfy this quest. You may notice a new item dropping from them…


“Slime Research: Step 2”

Bring a ‘Slime Gem’, found by slaying green slimes, to the Monster Research Wing. You should have gotten at least one slime gem by slaying 30 slimes in the previous quest, but if not, you can continue to slay slimes until you get one.


“Slime Research: Step 3”

A day after you complete “Slime Research: Step 2”, Gabriel will greet you as you exit the farmhouse. You will unlock the crafting recipes for ‘Life Essence’ and ‘Slime Soul’. Find the items needed (Purple Mushroom, Diamond, and Starfruit) to craft a ‘Life Essence’, then craft a ‘Slime Soul’ with a Life Essence and 10 ‘Slime Gems’, found by slaying cave slimes. Bring the ‘Slime Soul’ to the Monster Research Wing’


After completing “Slime Research: Step 3”, you will have to make a choice that splits the questline. The two paths are listed below.

Gabriel’s Path:

If you chose to agree with Gabriel during the Slime Soul cutscene, you will have the following quests:

“Slime Research: Step 4”

You will receive the Crafting Recipes for ‘Frozen Slime Soul’ and ‘Fire Slime Soul’ after agreeing with Gabriel. Gabriel asks for a ‘Frozen Slime Soul’ first - craft together 5 iron ore, a frozen tear, and a ‘Slime Soul’ (you should have received the recipe already) together to get a  ‘Frozen Slime Soul’. Deliver the  ‘Frozen Slime Soul’ directly to Gabriel.


“Slime Research: Step 5”

After delivering a  ‘Frozen Slime Soul’ to Gabriel, he will ask for a ‘Fire Slime Soul’. You should already have the crafting recipe unlocked. Craft together 5 gold ore, one fire quartz, and a ‘Slime Soul’ (you should have received the recipe already) together to get a  ‘Fire Slime Soul’. Deliver the  ‘Fire Slime Soul’ directly to Gabriel.


“Slime Research: Step 6” #1

After delivering the ‘Fire Slime Soul’ to Gabriel, he will request you give him time to study them. The next day, Gabriel will greet you at your door.

After meeting Gabriel at your farm, go to the Monster Research Wing.


“The Final Step”

After completing “Slime Research: Step 6” #2, new secret notes will begin to appear (if you have received the Magnifying Glass through the “Winter Mystery” base game quest). These secret notes serve to hint you to the solution, but it is not required to see them for the solution.

Raise friendship (through gifting, talking, etc.) with Silly the slime until you have at least 8 hearts. Exiting the farmhouse after reaching 8 hearts will result in a cutscene that completes the quest.

The mods listed above this are the only mods required for this mod to function, but I highly recommend the below mods to pair with Adventurer's Guild Expanded!


Also, I give permission to anyone to use the new characters/locations in their spinoff mods (ex: portrait/sprite redesigns, rival heart events, etc.) If you do, contact me and I'll add it to the list above!



This mod should be compatible with most mods. Some popular mods are listed below:

Stardew Valley Expanded - Should be fully compatible. The map changes should not affect anything with the events, and this mod makes no change to Marlon.

Other major expansions (Ridgeside Village, East Scarp, Downtown Zuzu, etc.) - These mods don’t affect the Adventure Guild map and are thus fully compatible.

Make Marlon Real and Befriend Marlon - Compatible. This mod does not affect Marlon, and the map changes seen in both mods do not affect the events.

Portrait/Sprite Mods - Compatible. This mod does not change the sprites/portraits for any existing characters. New NPC sprites and portraits will remain the same no matter what portraits/sprites you use, so be wary of that as they may not match. The Portraits/Sprites made for new NPCs are made to fit in with the vanilla and slightly edited vanilla styles.

Custom NPC DenverCompatible. As with most custom NPCs, their schedule and events shouldn't affect anything in this mod. Denver is stated to be another nephew of Marlon, which can still fit lore wise, as we are never told how many siblings Marlon really has :)

Custom Farm Maps - Certain farm maps may not be compatible with the Monster Basement, which unlocks after Silly's 10 heart event. Grandpa's Farm and Immersive Farm 2 Remastered for SVE are both compatible but I cannot guarantee any others - there is a config option to turn off the farm entrance (and use only the Bus Stop entrance) if you encounter an incompatibility.

Other Map Changes - Mods (apart from the ones mentioned above) that affect maps may not be compatible for certain events, which may show actors moving through objects on the map. The Monster Research Wing extension may also not appear correctly. I cannot possibly make this mod compatible with all edits, so use at your own discretion.

Multiplayer - untested fully, but I have made it so that it should work in Multiplayer. Only the host player will be able to do the main questline, but any player can see the heart events for Gabriel and Zinnia. 

Mobile & Versions Earlier Than 1.5 - I do not know if this mod works on mobile (and for versions of Stardew Valley lower than 1.5). I will not be able to add support for mobile because I have no way of testing for mobile at this time. At this moment, I would assume that this mod is not compatible with versions lower than 1.5.

Please report any incompatibilities to me (especially with SVE), and I will try to see what I can do!



Because this is a story-based expansion, there is currently only 1 config option. I’m always open to adding more or making existing features configurable, so let me know if you have any suggestions! Below I've listed the available config options and their descriptions.

AllowFestivals: Toggles New NPCs from appearing at festivals. This can be turned off if they interfere with any other NPCs (it is impossible for me to make them compatible with every NPC location). This will not affect the night market. [Default: true.]
FarmBasementEntrance: Toggles the farmhouse entrance for the Monster Basement. I recommend turning this off if you have a custom farm map. [Default: true.]

This is the biggest mod I’ve ever made, so there are bound to be some glitches/bugs that I didn't encounter during testing. Please please please feel free to leave a post or bug report if you encounter a bug and I’ll try to fix it ASAP!




I have a few plans for what I can add to this mod if you all would like more:

New Questlines: Questlines relating to the other types of monsters in Stardew Valley: for example, Skeletons, Mummies, Void Spirits, and more!
More New NPCs: Daniel (Gabriel and Zinnia’s father) is already planned to become a new NPC in a future update, but I’d love to keep adding new human and new monster NPCs!
More New Items, Locations, and Events relating to the different monster races and new NPCs!



This download is mainly in English. The current translations are listed below - usually, mod downloads require you to replace certain files with translated versions of them. If you want to add a translation, that would be great and you have my full permission to upload it! (but be warned, there’s quite a lot to translate!)
