A virus was detected in one of the downloads That’s a false positive. They happen all the time, but more frequently with a new update or a file the antivirus software/your browser hasn’t “seen” many times prior. See the antivirus troubleshooting page on the modding wiki for more information.
To help reassure yourself or confirm, you can click through to the VirusTotal report Nexus runs on every uploaded file from the files tab. This is where you need to click:
Note that it’s not uncommon for there to be some false positives here either — again, especially with a newer file. If you’re in serious doubt, waiting around a week will usually be long enough for antivirus and browsers to realise the file is fine.
If you’re having a problem and need to ask for support
Upload a log to smapi.io, following the instructions there on how to do so even if you think it won’t help. It’s always important.
Explain what’s happening in as detailed a manner as possible. If explaining things will be too difficult for you, then a screen recording (or a recording of your screen with your phone) of the issue happening uploaded to YouTube will help a lot.
Don’t worry if you need to use translation software to translate your messages — that’s perfectly fine. Or feel free to post in your native language and I can translate myself.
If you don’t follow the two steps above, it will take longer for me to both get around to your problem and to solve it because I’ll need to ask you to do them anyway.

Hi, how can I make the mod compatible with custom content, like the ores Strange Machines Revisited? Right now the auto target function ignores the ores added by the mod, haven't tried other tools with other custom content.
Good news is I'll be looking at this as soon as I get a chance. It's on my radar at the very least.
Quick edit: Looks like compatibility for stones will be quite easy. I'll talk to Mist about the possibility for some changes that will make things much tidier on both sides.

Sounds like the animation lock bug which is still present on the latest released version. You may be having trouble replicating it because the latest code (as per GitHub) has it fixed, so if you're using that it won't happen. Is there a reason that fix hasn't been released?

Swing animation freezes if you accidentally press a smart click on a scythe or fishing rod and nothing can be done about it. I didn’t find any mods that would return the player to the original position. this would be useful or in the mod itself, disable smart clicking on certain tools in the settings I'm tired of starting the day over again. and it’s so convenient to extract trees and stone
Empty hand as well? I've managed to make it happen with a scythe, so at least I have something to go on. I just genuinely can't see quite what's causing it, but I'm definitely looking into it!
calling this cheating is like calling terraria mods like OreExcavator cheating. you can modify the settings to be cheaty, but it is not inherently a cheat mod.
Very good mod, helps with the routine, but ran into a number of problems: 1) The config settings are saved only by the activation button, the radius of work needs to be changed through the file itself, because it is not saved through the menu 2) After upgrading the pickaxe from the base one to the copper one, its radius of operation remains the same as that of the base one (changed the radius of operation of the base one and changed the same for the copper one)
The first one also happens to me, so that should be fixed in the next release. Unfortunately, though, I can't seem to reproduce number two. There's a chance it might be related to number one, though, so definitely report back if you still run into it when the next version comes out!

The last little thing, I'll leave it here to be: I'm not sure if this is entirely a bug of this mod (because it didn't exist before) or if it invisibly conflicts with other mods (which SMAPI won't tell me about), but under circumstances not fully found, for example, if you hold down the movement button while holding the hotkey or switching to a sword (this works SOMETIMES and and I've never been able to do it on purpose) but the character "gets stuck" in the animation of using the tool, retaining only the ability to "turn its head" and not a single button from the vanilla game and many mods stops working. The only way to "save" a character is to force them to do something (like force feed food) and that sometimes helps or wait until 1 am and faint.
Oh, interesting! I just gave it a try, and I can't seem to get it to happen either. Doesn't mean it's not a problem with my mod, though! If you do ever figure out it is an issue on my end though, definitely let me know.

I'm having problems with my character freezing when switching while holding left ctrl too. I remember this happening my last play through at the end of last year and I remember fixing it but I can't remember what I did to fix it so I'm just hoping someone else knows what's up lol. It's very frustrating because nothing resets the character and I'm forced to pass out and lose money (and my entire day).
edit: if I'm remembering correctly I think it's a conflict with another mod I have so I'll have to go through them and if I figure it out I'll edit here.
