My answer in this case is probably "depends, but leaning toward no". In theory, it can, but I can easily see the sequence of events where you trigger a Rival Hearts event and then Clint refers to Emily as a friend in the 8 heart, so I'd have to be sure about Life Cycle's changes overriding this one.
this is great but honestly clint isnt the only one with weird dialog post getting together with your partner. sam has the same issue with penny. i dont really mind clints dialog otherwise. i just wish he had more in general because i think hes a genunily nice person. but he seemed more just lonely and awkard to me
So I know this is a several month old comment, but I just re-unpacked the game, so I have to ask - what dialogue are you referring to of Sam's? At least from my newest unpack of the vanilla game's files, Sam doesn't even mention Penny once in his dialogue file.
naw im also curious which one is for Sam? I reviewed his dialogues and I don't see any mention of Penny. Though Penny does mention him instead. Including after you marry Sam, or Penny's 8 heart.
Thank you so much for creating this! The edits to his character and dialogue are so welcome and I was really over him being a total creep. You've given him a lot of depth while still staying true to the rest of his canon story. I have this paired with a bunch of mods that alter dialogue (although no other ones that change his heart events) and I haven't had any compatibility issues!
Accidentally stumbled on this mod and I'm stoked to give it go! Maybe with this I can finally stop referring to Clint as C*nt in my in-game to-do lists
i can't believe clint never got updated dialogue after emily became a marriage candidate. like, this is the kinda stuff that should've been in the actual game. overall, great mod.
Heyo, would this mod still work with Looking for Love Redux? I still want to date the other characters in the LFLR mod but don't want Clint to be so weird.
It should be! Looking for Love Redux would load after Clint Rewritten, so it would prefer Looking for Love Redux's lines if they compete on any, while preferring this mod if LFLR doesn't edit the lines. If there's any lore incompatibilities you see, let me know and I can try and make compat.
In theory, just those who want it. In practice, it's probably better to match mods, but the mod should work normally for most things except for potentially the quest patch and the Movie Patch, which may or may not apply in multiplayer.

In some cases I do add multiplayer compatibility info to the modpage, but that's the general advice for any mod - mismatching mods in multiplayer is generally a recipe for disaster! This is just one of those mods that people should be able to mismatch. As such unless it's a large point of confusion I'm probably not going to add it to the modpage.
Honestly I always was one of the rare folks that like Clint, his normal diaglogue is fine and I also kinda appreciated him having a crush on emily, since it showed the Valley being somewhat alive (and not only having bachelors and married couples being able to have love life XD), so I always hated when he got over the top (I mean it is ok to get a bit jealous, but why was there never an option in vanilla to just tell him he got it all wrong?). So thank you for your work on this mod :)
