Linked below is an unofficial update I've made for Friendship Tweaks, (based on the mod's open Nexus permissions and aedenthorn's blanket permission on the Stardew Valley Discord). The changes I've made are:
Updated Generic Mod Config Menu integration for better future compatibility
Now has additional config settings for changing the gift friendship gain multipliers for Birthday & Secret Winter Star gifts (vanilla is 8x & 5x, respectively).
Also added a new config setting for changing the special gift friendship multiplier

Stardrop Tea
has as a Birthday or Secret Winter Star gift (vanilla is 3x).
Sets the default config setting for "Max Hearts" to 14, so all default config settings will now match Vanilla.
Let me know if there's anything else I should do for this, and thanks so much aedenthorn for creating this (I had been looking for a similar mod and was about to try making one like it from scratch until I found it)!
Make sure you're downloading the "FriendshipTweaks 0.1.1-unofficial.1.zip" from the above link (not "Friendship tweaks 0.1.1-unofficial.1 code.zip", which is for looking at / editing the code for the mod), and unzip the "FriendshipTweaks" folder into your Stardew Valley\Mods folder, and it should be working.
Are you getting a particular error message in SMAPI, or something else happening when you try to use the mod?
For those who can't find his link; Stardew Valley forums apparently banned an active account and removed all the posts for that person from the Unofficial Updates page person linked. So even if his link and Google result shows XenoneX unofficial update should be present on Page 217 of that thread, due to banned account removed posts, all previous posts shifted "Back" couple of pages.
I'm not the mod author, but as far as I can tell in my own personal game using them together things appear to be working as expected (Although I'm mainly just using the ability to adjust friendship increases).
I love the idea but doesn't work on my game :( it is incompatible with better friendship or any other game? Ps: bow I noticed that the 20 hearts only counts to spouse, I'm looking for a mod that makes every villager have 20 hearts
Question: once I set a value for how difficult it should be to earn hearts, can I change it later? I set my friendship multiplier to .75 initially and I feel like I'm still earning friendship too quickly so I switched it to .55 and I can't tell if it's taken effect or not.
What if you try using it like "0.7" or "0.5"? I'm on that goal too, I would recommend checking the Stardew Wiki on the friendship page to calculate it in the best way My best: "MaxHearts": 14, "IncreaseModifier": 0.5, "DecreaseModifier": 1.0
This is exactly what I have recently wanted to ask for (but didn't since I considered it implausible), albeit it is lacking the feature I may need the most.
Due to the number of social mods I have (Socializing Skill, Part of the Community, Friend of a Friend set to Hard, Passive Friendship) I'd like a multiplier for friendship points per heart (about 4x, so 1000 per). Now I am aware that it may be very difficult if not impossible to do since events may have independent point requirements but I'd still like to ask you now, for certainty's sake.
I consider it already great that a Loved Iridium Birthday Gift will not amount to nearly 4 hearts. I adjusted it to 0.25 and hope it suffices... and only affects the activities listed on the wiki, and only before other mods. Otherwise there'll be lots of adjusting to do and I may share a set of config files (just to only do it once and have them back in case of a loss). The Socializing Skill and its Professions add extra points for those activities (flat for talking and gifting, multiplier for events). Personally, I'd like to suggest an individual multiplier for each activity since I consider the initial balance also off. This includes having no multiplier for gift quality.
So, I've been playing with it for a while now and there's really only one more thing test, namely whether decimal friendship points are accepted or rounded down. I'd also like to ask this since indeed all but currently one source of friendship point is affected, namely Passive Friendship is not (which allows one to gain FP every 10 minutes by standing near someone). Affected Mods: Part of the Community and Socializing Skill. Those three I tested. Unknown: Friend of a Friend. (Difficult to trigger and measure)
This could very well be the mod I've been hoping for! :D Thank you for making it.
I was thinking that it'd be a great feature if certain NPCs could be configured individually by name to make their friendship points uniquely customizable. In particular, I'd love to have this feature available for a custom NPC I've been slowly working on to enable a slower buildup to friendship and enhance the storyline.
