By the time my test game is in spring again, I will be really glad for this. Hunting for Easter Eggs against little kids just feels wrong! This is so much better. Yay for ethical choices!
I downloaded and installed the mod, and played the egg hunt today, but even though I love the concept the execution was a bit underwhelming. First, none of the characters seem to know it's a cooperative egg hunt this year, so maybe Lewis didn't send them the memo? (It's maybe due to all the other mods I've got going which adds a ton of characters... but even the vanilla ones didn't reference that so I dunno). I still had a lot of snide comments (and downright rude ones, Kenzie looking at you hon) about participating and the usual "Abigail always wins". Then the actual egg hunt happened and it wasn't any different, with the exception that "we" didn't win. Lewis did announce the numbers of eggs per the vanilla participants (Vincent with 8, good job little dude!) but then Abigail jumped up and went forward and Lewis said "Here's your prize" showing how clearly rigged it is lol.
I think a few extra tweaks to dialogue would be nice... of course it's impossible to have every NPC across multiple mods say anything, but even some sort of announcement at the beginning of the hunt by Lewis would be sufficient, because I was honestly thinking I hadn't installed the mod properly up until the end since it was so like the usual egg hunt. And then if "we" don't win, Abigail definitely should NOT be running up to claim a prize!
Anyway, I really like the concept, so maybe just a few tweaks for a future update? Thanks for your hard work!
Sure, that's fair! But a quick look at the dialogue file shows that it seemed to play off as it was supposed to go, with maybe the only thing being Abby going forward to "claim" the prize since "we" didn't win as what wasn't supposed to happen. AFAIK none of the expansion mods change the basic egg hunt besides adding extra characters/dialogue, but I guess something's conflicting because I don't think she was supposed to do that... anyway, just wanted to suggest a bit more immersion with the first comment, but of course, appreciate the mod all the same!
This is such a great idea! I never use the Randomized Egg Hunt Winner mod b/c I always win (lol), but I find competing against children weird and frustrating, so this strikes a nice balance! :D

One thing that would be great is a randomization setting to activate the mod or not, so we can have both types of festivals
I'll use this in my next playthrough!
