Hello, all. I'm back from a major hiatus. I've lost my old computer to a house fire. The house and contents are covered by insurance, and I'm currently already working with a new computer.
I'm a bit out of the loop as to the state of the game, SMAPI, .NET framework, and how my mod is behaving, but as soon as I get my new computer up to date with the software and files necessary to look into it all, I'll be getting back into the swing of things. I have since updated the mod with some efficiency features, and made an anti-mod to reverse the changes the mod does to the crops on everyone's saves if they choose to do so.
Information About the Fire (For those who wish to know)
No humans were hurt, lost some mementos, like pictures and collectibles, stuff you can't really replace, but things could have got so much worse, and I honestly feel lucky we all got out of this with such little loss. I would say the only thing that hurts is the loss of my dog. He was an idiot, but he was my idiot, and he refused to leave when we were exiting. That's about as far as I want to tell about it, but if you were curious, there you go.
EDIT: Thank you all for such kind words. I also want to thank everyone who has seen this page and downloaded the mod. The mod has 71k unique downloads, and over 1/4 of a million views. I can't even imagine 1k people downloading this little mod I worked on several summers ago, let alone 71k. That's insane, all the love and endorsements from those who find it an annoyance to not be able to walk through trellis crops like I do has been heartwarming. I'll try my best to keep this mod updated, though there might be times where it'll take me a second to notice updates to the mod's dependencies.
Crazy that people are begging for an update for something that literally says retired in the title. Especially considering it is working fine on 3/22/2024 with 1.6.2 and SMAPI 4.0.1 (and probably never stopped working). It is even marked as working on https://smapi.io/mods
Except it's not working correctly for everyone. For me it works on any crops planted before 1.6 but is not working with trellis crops planted after 1.6 regardless of whether it's a new or old save. When I look at the smapi logs smapi claims the mod is loaded however I get this error message:
ERROR walkthroughtrellis This mod failed in the Player.Warped event. Technical details: InvalidCastException: Can't convert the StardewValley.Crop::netSeedIndex field from Netcode.NetString to Netcode.NetInt. at StardewModdingAPI.Framework.Reflection.ReflectedField`1.GetValue() in SMAPI\Framework\Reflection\ReflectedField.cs:line 67 at walkthroughtrellis.ModEntry.cropUpdate(Object sender, EventArgs e) in C:\Users\Tabmin\source\repos\walkthroughtrellis\walkthroughtrellis\ModEntry.cs:line 36 at StardewModdingAPI.Framework.Events.ManagedEvent`1.Raise(TEventArgs args) in SMAPI\Framework\Events\ManagedEvent.cs:line 101
I use your mod for a long time and did not realize this mod has been retired until today. Even you stop updating, this mod is still useful for me. Thank you for your work! You deserve 71k unique downloads!!! Wish you all the best. Also looking forward for any new mods (if you want to continue)
Hi, I'm here reaching out in the hopes that you could help me. I switched out the regular version for the one that allows modded crops, but since then my game hasn't been able to run. I'm almost positive it's an issue with this mod, since my game 'broke' only after installing the alternate version. Once I click into my specific save file, it loads for a while and then crashes. I tried using the WTTantimod with no success. Here is my log, maybe it'll shed some light? https://smapi.io/log/8e32870455d540e79199543cb46c6b81
I must've done something wrong, I just hope I can be able to play my file again.
I should reiterate, I'm not trying to reverse the effects of the mod- I was trying to switch from one version to another, and that crashed my game. I wasn't able to play through a day to try to see if it had worked.
I don't know what went wrong, or if you've gotten help with this issue, but you may be able to reinstall this mod and play your save again, especially if you use a backup from before you switched mods. From there, you might be able to use the antimod and then switch to the new mod? I'm not totally sure, but I hope you're able to get it sorted!
Hello Theofficialtab, I was looking for additional info on your mod and I came across your message explaining what you experienced. 2 months ago, my house was ravaged by the flames, the children and I are going well, only slight injuries. We deplore the loss of our cat.Pupuce woke up my son, she saved us, and was not found afterwards.I was surprised when I read, to recognize my story, and I suddenly felt empathetic for you.I send you lots of good solidarity thoughts.
