Hi everyone! I wanted to make a comment to clear up how to use my new dog and cat mods. Unlike my old pet mods, these do not replace the default pet textures. Mild spoilers on how to change your existing pets, as it involves new features to 1.6:

Unfortunately, it seems that CA removed the mechanic of changing your pet's appearance at the Wizard's Shrine of Illusion. If you don't start a new save with the pet breed you want, now it looks like you have to adopt a new one with the appearance you want from Marnie. Once you've maxed hearts with your existing pet, you can adopt additional pets if you buy the new pet bowl structures from Robin (for 50 hardwood each), or you can buy the Butterfly Powder item from Krobus (for 20,000g) to remove your pet and adopt a new one. Adopting a pet is 40,000g. If someone finds a new way to change existing pets' appearances, let me know!
You can also of course use the command "debug cmenu" (without quotes) in the SMAPI console to bring up the character creation menu. This will at least allow you to change your existing pet immediately.
I am getting lots of comments on all my mods since the 1.6 update, so from now on the way I respond to them is changing. If you report bugs in the bug section or ask for help in the comments without providing your SMAPI log, your report/comment is likely to be ignored or deleted. Your logs contain important info that modders need to be able to help you, and it only takes extra time from both of our lives if I have to ask for it. I also highly recommend making sure you read the instructions in the description thoroughly before asking for help. Thanks!
Thank you for your all great mods. There are hundreds of color variances, could you consider to add option to choose them all ? Now i need to tick hundreds of times to choose all of them :(

For the time being, yes, I have stopped working on new mods or updating any existing ones. It isn't permanent (and it's not my first 'hiatus'), I will probably get back to it in the future.
Does anyone know how the "debug cmenu" command works? For me it pops up the character creation menu, but I don't see how it'll affect my current save with a vanilla cat sprite. I also don't see a way to save that character creation menu unless I go through and make a whole new farm. I feel like I'm missing something obvious!
Please help me. After I generated the config file, I clicked on it and it showed: I could not find the file C:/Program.txt, do I need to create a new file? If I click "Yes," a blank notepad will be generated. This is my first time in this situation. Please help meT T
Hi elle love ur mod! I wanted to replace a cat sprite but when I delete the old cats i have written and write down the new one, it doesnt appear in marnie's shop nor does the old cat i deleted dissapear. I have not adopted the cat sprite im deleting but i do have 2 others from your mod adopted, is there anything i can do to replace the third for the one i want? thanks!!

What are the names of the colors ?? I know the breeds and the "shape" of the fur (tuxedo, etc...) but what are the colors name ??? There's like 4 shades of brown it genuinely confuses me, please help ! I feel so stupid lol but i literaly almost cried over this because i understand nothing about moddin ;O
No worries. In the future, when you get new mods it's generally a good idea to read through the instructions, even if you think it's the same steps as most mods and you already know them. In my mods, for instance, the instructions mention the References folder that has all the config names. Have a happy new year!
Alternative Textures (v7.1.0) now supports vanilla and Content Patcher added textures for animal skins / pet breeds. This means using the Scissor tool will show these textures automatically.
Unfortunately, this doesn't work for me :( when I try to use the scissor tool on my chickens, it says no alternative textures were found for this season.
Hello! I don't know if i will have figured it out on my own by the time anyone sees this (and if you even reply to these anymore its been a few months) but im slightly confused as to which json file im supposed to be opening and editing? im rather sleep deprived so this might just be me being stupid but help would be appreciated
edit - it appears i can edit in game i think it just didnt actually transfer to my mods folder the first time smh
