I was looking through the talent trees, and I'm a little confused about the usefulness of the Local Knowledge perk in the Foraging tree. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I assume by 'reset' it means that all forage will be removed like they already do on Sundays. To me, that sounds more like a detriment than a benefit.
It makes more sense to me to give me more chances to harvest what is there than getting rid of them because it's a benefit that the forage lingers around so I don't have to hunt for them daily to make the most of their spawns. I know that the chance for forage is increased on Sundays, but the wiki does not reveal by how much and even still that doesn't help with the fact that I'll likely be losing more than I'll be gaining if I don't go foraging every day as opposed to foraging every Saturday when it's reset weekly. Not to mention that foraging daily would also eat up my time and or inventory when trying to do other activities.
I can potentially see how this perk could help with the 6 max forage per area per week limit, but at that point I'd just have the perk increase that limit, if possible, rather than removing the benefit of having forage linger for some days after. It also seems anti-synergistic with a perk after it, as Sea Change's randomly-once-per-week benefit could only be exploited by checking the beach daily with daily resets in mind which, again, eats my time to do other in-game tasks.
So, is there something I'm missing or misunderstanding that makes this a better perk than I realize? I'd normally test these things myself, but I just started my playthrough and so I'm nowhere close to being able to pick it up and try it out.
I just built four programmable drills, which Lookup Anything says are added by "[CP] VPP Data". I tried setting them next to a box with ore and a battery pack. Nothing. I tried clicking on one of them while holding radioactive ore and having a battery pack in my inventory. I get a big red X and a notice saying "Requires one of any ore, geode, stone, coal, or gem". OK, maybe it doesn't like radioactive ore. I try it with a prismatic shard. Same response. That was a longshot, granted, so I try with a diamond. Same response. Maybe it wants something more common? So I try with quartz. Same response. Maybe they're unhappy that I set them up indoors? So I pick them up, go to take them outside, and as soon as I walk out my front door, the game crashes.
Have you tried placing them in the mine entrance? That's the only place they'll work properly. If you still get the crash there, please submit a bug report.
Hi. It seems that you left a code on where Star Fragments are spawning on the map even though I don't have that mod installed. Are you able to release an update to fix this?
I would appreciate this too. It was driving me insane for a few weeks because I genuinely forgot about the talent screen and could not figure out which mod was why I was randomly seeing a 'broken' item for star fragments when I haven't installed the mod.
Has anyone tested this with SVE? I really want to use this mod, but it seems unsupported for SVE and I can't find anyone who has tried both at the same time.
really excited to play this! one thing, i noticed when i ran vpp.recalculatepoints on an existing save it automatically put all my skills to lvl 20, is that intended behavior? i assume its something to do with having already played enough to gain those levels, but i wanted to double check it wasnt a bug or anything.
edit: oh also while i'm here, i seem to be getting a talent point every single time i kill a monster- again, not sure if this is intended, but it does get kind of ridiculous when youre fighting skull cavern slimes and the entire screen is congratulating me for getting talent points aha
i actually figured out the first one, i just had a LOT more exp than i thought and didnt realise it would carry over, not a fault with the mod! and good to know the other one is known, hopefully it can be sorted eventually. excelent work btw, this mod feels super professional and well integrated into the game.

What am I doing wrong?
