    Thank you SO much for this mod!! I would've had to wait 3 more years for the magic hair gel (from stardew predictor) but after taking out a few characters I got Alex first try!

    Would it be possible to have a switch were you can permanently turn in the desert festival (or at least the skull cavern challanges)? That would be so much fun!

    I feel like I'm going crazy. I can't find any config settings for choosing vendors. Should it be in the Mod Options? The mod isn't showing up there. I'm so confused.

      Yep, should be in the mod options. If the mod is properly installed, in GMCM there will be a section for vendors which defaults to "can sell at festival" or "will not sell at festival".

      Hmm. It's definitely not showing up. I downloaded the most recent version, extracted into the mod folder (full of other mods that ARE working), and nothing is showing up at all. I tried an older version too and no luck.

    Hmm. I like the idea, and really like being able to winnow down the possible venders, but don't necessarily want to have a second festival each year. From what I can see, though, if I set the festival override setting to the dates of the vanilla festival, it should stop it from kicking off a second time (since it's set up to not override the vanilla festival)? Is that correct?

      Pretty much, yes. I can also look into just adding a toggle on the whole thing, but your idea is probably the best one for the current version!

    Hello, I did a Chinese translation and the file name is zh.json.

    In addition, I would like to ask, as an ordinary game player, can I have two desert festivals as long as I install this mod?

      Thank you for the translation! I'll try and update the mod to include it with credit to you. As for your question, yes! The Desert Festival will run on Spring 15-17 as normal as well as Fall 8-10 with this mod installed (unless it's Year 1, in which case you'll have to turn on a config option to have the festival run during Fall 8-10 during Year 1).

    This mod works perfectly however im slightly confused on how the vendor thing works, I managed to get sam to show up on day 2 but if i want Alex on day 3, it says i need 6 vendors in the pool in the spoiler section. So if i want a higher chance of Alex I’d have to toggle six vendors who CAN go that day including Alex and hope he shows up? Sorry if this seems dumb im just slightly confused on how it works <3

      That is (unfortunately) correct. Believe me, I'd love for there to be a way - or a C# mod, failing that - that would allow it to work better, but I'm definitely not code-smart enough to figure that out. Fingers crossed you get Alex out of the six possible people!

    out of curiosity, how does this work in multiplayer? considering the vendor toggle is a configurable thing, would every player at once need to change and sync the configs or would it only be host-based?

      Honestly, I'm not entirely sure - normally I'd say "host-based" but unfortunately the mechanism to prevent vendors - due to hardcoded restrictions, though I've petitioned for there to be a DesertFestivalVendor in Data/Characters instead - requires deleting shop data (e.g. to remove Vincent from consideration, the shop DesertFestival_Vincent has to be nulled out). If multiple people had different configs, the most likely outcome is if Vincent was disabled on host and Pam on farmhand, both would end up disabled. I'd make sure to only change the shop nulls on the host, just to be sure.

      thank you for the answer! i'm planning to go on a multiplayer run with some friends and i pitched the idea to include this mod, so we'll see about following your advice at the end and seeing if anything else happens to break along the way

    Love the idea of this mod as the desert festival is so much fun, it deserves to run twice a year! However, when using this mod with the original spring event, and having selected who can/can't sell, over the 3 days I only had 2 vendors, the stalls were otherwise empty.

      This is why I mentioned strictly that you cannot choose your vendors, only alter the pool somewhat. (See the spoiler section on the modpage! I specifically gave an example of what would happen if you reduced it down to two vendors that path to the festival day 1, which results in your exact scenario, along with minimum amounts for the pool of vendors each day.)

      If it helps, if you hover over a character's name in the config, it'll tell you exactly what days they path to the festival. It'll be a good guide to figure out who is allowed on what day.

      I had a pool of about 12 vendors, but didn't realise they were day based. Will have another look with that in mind - thanks!
