This mod is awesome. I had a mod that I was waiting for a kind person to translate, but now I can do it myself. I'm going to translate it steadily every day. Thank you so much!
I understand why the option doesn't show up now. It's because I set the language to Vietnamese, my native language, which is an added language mod, so the Internationalization mod can't recognize it. Switching to the game's default language will make the mod work normally.
The mod pokes into SMAPI directly and there seem to have been some changes there that caused this mod to break. I've not been able to find out what changed though.
The issue seems to be that the Vietnamese mod does not have a default (i.e. english) translation. This translation mod assumes that translation exists.
This issue should be fixed now. Note that mods that don't have an english translation will not show up in this mod (e.g. the vietnamese translation mod).
Hi! I'm trying this mod and it's very useful, so I wanted to say thank you! I translated this mod into Italian, if you're interested it's here: https://smapi.io/json/i18n/9d4fc7ebfa6d4234a91945be19697839
Seems like one or more of the files isn't loading. If you press F12 in your browser it should open the developer console. Can you send a picture of its contents? (The mod is still lacking in the error handling/reporting department.)
I suddenly have the same empty bug. It was working just fine before, don’t know what caused this.
The console show this : Error: Could not establish connection. Receiving end does not exist. contents.04d427ca.js:1:465898 Uncaught (in promise) TypeError: el.error is undefined script.js:398:2 show_error http://localhost:8018/static/script.js:398
[EDIT] I made a reset of cookies, it let me reload Internationalization. I also deleted zi.json. I had this error in mod : TypeError: mod_info is undefinedset_translation_status@http://localhost:8018/static/script.js:294:22 update_mod@http://localhost:8018/static/script.js:187:25 ready@http://localhost:8018/static/script.js:165:2
I'm having the same error, no MOD option for translation appears even though I have several mods that have the i18n folder. I imagined that the error could be because my game is in Portuguese and there is still no translation of the MOD into PTBR, but I changed the game to English and also deleted the cookies and the error still persists. The Console message is as follows:
Failed to load :the :8018/info:1 resource the server responded with a status of 500 (InternalServerError)
Uncaught (in promise) script.js:398 TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'replaceChildren') at show_error (script.js:398:11)
EDIT: I made a PTBR translation of the .json file, here's the link for pt.json.
Hello ! I had an intensive use of your mod - and having fun using it : there was a lot of french i18n translation files created. I offered them to the autors (as I think it’s better if it’s then directly integrated for the future updates) on the mod pages and mentioned that I used your mod (hoping some others will hear of it and want to do the same).
With the help of your tool, I worked on the update of 13 already existent translation and created 61 new translations from scratch. On this number, 17 are already added by the mod authors on their mods. Hoping others will be merged too.
Just a piece of information on the really large mods (looking at you, SVE and RSV ! :o). It works but the browser page freezes when it intend to load one of them. I have to wait some minutes to let it do its thing. And then it’s loaded, everything’s fine. For others users, I will recommend you to stay far from them by default for the time being. Maybe on your end you could display a warning if it tries to load a heavy file (> 5 000 lines ?).
Anyway, you asked of the features which should be useful.
Before I comment your ideas, I will insist on one : it will be REALLY great to be able to jump on the next empty line. On small mods, it’s easy to spot them but on greater talkative mods, when you’re trying to find the 20 new lines in the middle of thousands of others, it’s a real work. But then, maybe it will be better to directly open the file and search the "" lines ?
Filter lines (error/untranslated/search query) : will be great. The untranslated one is really golden for me
Metadata like translation author name, update date, SMAPI & mod version. : wow, that will be good (I hesitated to incorporate them on my translations but the smapi smash.io JSON validator every comment… So I gave up). A little more optional but useful nonetheless.
An in-game button to open the editor. : I would like that. Even if it’s just the same as having the page as a favorite on the browser ^^’’.
Validation of {{tag}} usage. Why not but it seems a lot of work ?
Upload file from disk (for easier importing) : to work on mods without installing them ? That would be useful. In the same time, for me I have to see what the mod do, test a few things, open the GCMC menu and see in live how the game update its translation. It forces me to do with the mod so in my case, not a priority.
Preview using in-game bitmap font. : that would be great to see if there’s error. I think I may have forgotten some punctation (or misused them…) on my translation
Add working directory setting to automatically save to git projects as well. : I’m no git-savvy but one autor told me of pull request, guess it would be better for updating.
A standalone version? :can be good too BUT The simple use of the browser have the advantage of being user-friendly : no need to install an obscure program (which sometimes need others dependicies). So not a priority for me. Even if I can clearly see the advantage (I lived with my browser open just for translating the past few days).
I've been busy doing a lot of other stuff, so don't know when I get around doing SDV modding again. I really need to, so I can upload new versions with the added translations. And add filter lines to this mod.
Adding comments to json can be done by either adding dummy entries, or the // style comments, that the json validator does not like, but will be accepted anyway.
The upload from disk feature would be to copy/paste a translation from a website and install it that way, rather than by copying the file to the correct location & filename. It is more aimed towards users than translators.
The last three are intended for git projects, mostly to support the workflow used here https://github.com/StardewModders/mod-translations/issues. Save to git would try to figure out where the mod is located in your development workspace, then save it there, so you can commit and push. The translation summary is so the github projects can have a summary of how well the mod is translated for different languages. A standalone version would mean you could check out mods in a folder and translate them, without ever launching the game. It would use the same, browser based interface.
It indeed needs pagination for the larger mods. Or figure out a way to make it fast enough (There's some hacky stuff I need to do for the editor component so it works in firefox and still has the undo button work too. I know it as some performance issues upon loading).

I have translated this mod into Chinese using this mod.
This is a great mod! Thank you for creating it!"
