oml you made him so cute, not saying he wasnt before but in my opinion you gave him a glow up I love goth long haired men, thank you for your service <3
Hello! After the new sv update, I followed the tutorial below in order to fix the mod, yet my Sebastian has his default clothes instead of the gothic style ones.
[Content Patcher] Can't apply image patch "Seasonal Goth Sebastian > Characters Seasonal (Characters/Sebastian)" to Characters/Sebastian: the FromFile file 'assets\Character\Sebastian_spring.png' doesn't exist. [Content Patcher] Can't apply image patch "Seasonal Goth Sebastian > Portraits Seasonal (Portraits/Sebastian)" to Portraits/Sebastian: the FromFile file 'assets\Portraits\Sebastian_spring.png' doesn't exist.
The spring portraits and sprites were never deleted whatsoever, so I can't tell what the issue is.
Is there a way to fix this? I tried redownloading the mods, switching the sprites in the original game files and so on. For whatever reason, the second method with the Generic mod config. does not work for me despite having the original and extracted folder in the mods folder. (the .json at the end does not show up for me in the file name so I am unable to open it.)
Edit: I also noticed that he stays in bed troughout the entire day and completly stopped following his usual schedule
I don't really know what the problem could be, since those files should exist within my mod folder. You can switch around png files between different mod folders (though it's not recommended unless the mod actually says you should, though in those cases you should make a back-up just in case). If you've messed around with the actual game files it's another issue, since those use another type of format, they're called XNB files. So if you switch those around it wont work. But even if it did you wont be able to benefit from the seasonal clothes since you need SCA in order for it to work.
(Never mess around in the original game files, you could end up breaking the game, and then you'd have to re-download it again. Only change things within the mod folders, though this can create other risks since you might break the mod you're changing).
If you've transferred my files into the SO - SCA mod you'll have to remove my mod from the stardew mod folder, since they will interfere with each other, and if you choose to transfer the files you'll have to make sure that that the "slightly cuter Sebastian" is selected. I wouldn't recommend this though in case you change your mind about my mod.
Make sure to check that you don't have other mods that changes Sebastian's appearance. If you have other mods for Sebastian, make sure to check that they do not alter his appearance. You don't need to worry about mods that change dialogues or similar, ONLY ones that affect the appearance.
Any problem that happens with his schedule or such should not be affected by this mod since the only thing it does is change his appearance. That's why you can simply delete it if you don't want to use the mod anymore. The types of mods that can interfere with the game files in that manner should be shown in the content patcher.
I suggest you remove/delete both mods again (you should never simply replace a mod because it might affect the files, you have to completely remove that mod from the mod folder before downloading it again), then start with downloading SO - SCA . Make sure there are no duplicates in the stardew mod folder before starting up the game. That means to either extract the mod in a seperate folder outside the stardew valley mod folder, and then move the extracted folder into the stardew mod folder. Or you can extract it within the stardew valley mod folder, but make sure to delete the un-extracted folder. There should never be a duplicate mod folder (mods with the same name), no matter if they're different type files. Then download my mod again.
Try either of these steps again.
1. Use Generic mod config , Search for "Seasonal cute characters" and enter it, then scroll down and unselect "slightly cuter Sebastian" (In order for it to process immediately you have to do this on the title screen.)
2. Maneuver to the mod folder for SO - SCA, open the config.json file and switch "SlightlyCuterSebastian:" to false. (this config.json file wont show until you've started the game at least once. So once you've downloaded both mods, start the game, exit the game and then search in the mod folder and it should show up)
If you've still got problems I don't know what it could be. If I have problems like this I usually uninstall all mods and then add them again one by one in order to try and find where the problem is (that means you have to start the game in between adding each mod and then close it again - usually mods like mine shouldn't affect the game in any way other than change appearance, they don't alter the game files.). Or just re-install the whole game and add the mods. (Unless you've messed around with the mod files you can simply move them outside the stardew valley mod folder and then add them again, no need to download them again). Still, if you don't want to go through this process (since it's extremely tedious) you can try and ask a more knowledgeable person for help. There is a discord channel for stardew valley (https://discord.gg/stardewvalley) with a lot of nice people that might be able to help you.
Thank you! I took your advice to go trough each mod, and it turns out that SVE was the problem. Now my Sebastian has his gothic style back and is following his normal schedule as well :)
hey guys! i was stuck and couldn't figure out how to get it to work either :') but!!! i screwed around and figured out u can't just copy and paste asset into the seasonal characters folder like other mods. so if you click into the goth sebastian portraits folder however you can individually copy each png file, open up seasonal characters, click portraits & then match up each png to their counterpart! it'll give u the "do u wanna replace this file" thing each time. simple once you realise what to do!! also he looks sosososo phenomenal one of my favourite redesign mods fr
(this is a message further down in the comment section so I'm sending you the reply as well)
I checked it out. When you've downloaded SO - SCA, there are two options.
Either of those two should make this mod the priority for Sebastian.
(Thank you so much for the compliment, I'm happy you like it <3)
