Changelogs
Welcome to Pokemon Ranch
a name clearly borrowed from an old wiiware game.

After getting my first mod working I decided, I wanted to do something simple. One new animal, adding my first favorite Pokemon Piplup. Months later and somehow that became significantly less simple with just so many Pokemon each with shiny variants, Pokemon cries, eggs with unique designs, two deluxe goods (as well as the universal deluxe goods, Rare Candy) and artisan goods. All Pokemon are new, standalone animals and do not replace any vanilla animals, and all Pokemon in new Pokemon buildings.

Pokemon
Ditto!
Dittos have been spotted hiding in Marnie's Ranch! Any time you buy a Pokemon from Marnie, you have a 1% chance to instead get a Ditto! They currently lay no eggs, until I can force myself to learn how to make them work how I want but I want this mod updated Now. At 1/4 hearts, they can drop either Metal Powder or Quick Powder. At 3/4 hearts, they can drop TM: Transform!

Rowlet, Dartrix, Decidueye
I absolutely love owls. Barn owls specifically have long been a favorite of mine, so you can imagine just how OVER it was for me when the Alola starters came out. They have it all! The entire color scheme, the silent flight, the ROUNDESS. Naturally, Rowlet was the first starter I shiny hunted/soft reset for. Several hours completely worth it for my special boy Owlcher. I planned to wait to add him until I had the other Alola starters done but i am NOT immune to favoritism. They live in the Barn, take 5, 7 and 9 days to grow up respectively,  and produce goods every 3 days! Like the other starters, at 1/4 hearts Rowlet and Dartrix drop Oran Berries and Sitrus Berries respectively, while Decidueye can drop a Miracle Seed or Spell Tag! At 3/4 hearts, Rowlet can drop TM: Leafage, Dartrix can drop TM88: Pluck, and Decidueye can drop TM: Spirit Shackle!

Charmander, Charmeleon and Charizard
At the request of like, one person, we have the original three starters! Living in the barn, they take 5, 7 and 9 days to grow up, and then produce items every 3 days. As starters, at 1/4 hearts Charmander can drop Oran Berries, Charmeleon can drop Sitrus Berries, and Charizard can drop Charcoal and Sharp Beaks! At 3/4 Hearts, Charmander can drop TM8: Fire Fang, Charmeleon can drop TM125: Flamethrower, and Charizard can drop TM65: Air Slash!

Squirtle, Wartortle and Blastoise
The very first water starters! Living in the barn, they take 5, 7 and 9 days to grow up, and then produce items every 3 days. As starter Pokemon, at 1/4 hearts Squirtle can drop Oran Berries, Wartortle can drop Sitrus Berries, and Blastoise can drop Mystic Water! At 3/4 Hearts, Squirtle can drop TM11: Water Pulse, Wartortle can drop TM: Aqua Tail, and Blastoise can drop TM93: Flash Cannon!

Bulbasaur, Ivysaur and Venusaur
The OG grass starter, complete with gender variants for Venusaur! Living in the barn, they take 5, 7 and 9 days to grow up, and then produce items every 3 days. As starters,  at 1/4 hearts Bulbasaur can drop Oran Berries, Ivysaur can drop Sitrus Berries, and Venusaur can drop Miracle Seeds and Poison Barbs. At 3/4 Hearts, Bulbasaur can drop TM: Vine Whip, Ivysaur can drop TM: Poison Powder, and Venusaur can drop TM206: Petal Blizzard!

Piplup, Prinplup and Empoleon
The penguins have changed! Piplup and Prinplup and (newly added) Empoleon now share an egg, shop entry, etc. Piplup was the original reason for the mod and is just The baby of all time. Known for being less than great at walking, they might trip from time to time. When hatching or buying a Piplup, they have a small chance to remain a Piplup, otherwise they will grow into a Prinplup, or maybe even into Empoleon! Living in the barn, Piplup takes 5 days to become adults, Prinplup takes 7, Empoleon takes 9, and they all lay produce goods every 3 days. At 1/4 total hearts, Piplup will drop Oran Berries, which can be eaten to restore health and energy. Prinplup wil drop Sitrus Berries! Related to the Oran Berry, though slightly stronger in effect! Empoleon can drop either Mystic Water or Metal Coat! At 3/4 hearts, Piplup can drop TM11: Bubble Beam, Prinplup can drop TM142: Hydro Pump, and Empoleon can drop TM31: Metal Claw!

Chimchar, Monferno and Infernape
It would appear the Piplups went and found their old friends! A small few will remain a Chimchar, some remaining as a Monferno, and fewer some growing into Infernape! They grow in 5, 7, and 9 days respectively. They join the Sinnoh other starters in the barn, and they produce goods every 3 days. At 1/4 total hearts, Chimchar can also drop Oran Berries. I was going to give them a unique item or berry here, but starters all seem to carry the same held items. For the same reason, Monferno can drop Sitrus Berries! Inferape can drop either Charcoal or a Black Belt! At 3/4 hearts, Chimchar can drop TM: Flame Wheel, Monferno can drop TM: Mach Punch, and Infernape can drop TM167: Close Combat!

Turtwig, Grotle and Torterra
You know the penguins didn't forget these dudes. They too can stay at each evolution stage, though they each take a day longer to grow-6, 8, and 10 days-because uhh tortoises live a long time? i don't know. it seems appropriate and its my mod and i make the rules. They also get to live in the barn, and produce goods every 3 days. For reasons i'm not typing out twice, at 1/4 hearts, Turtwig can drop Oran Berries, and Grotle can drop Sitrus Berries. Torterra can drop either Soft Sand or a Miracle Seed! At 3/4 hearts, Turtwig can drop TM: Absorb, Grotle can drop TM: Leech Seed, and Torterra can drop TM149: Earthquake!

Pichu, Pikachu, Raichu (and Mimikyu)
You know I really am surprised it took me this long to add Pokemon's literal mascot to the mod. And if we're being real it would've taken longer if my friend didn't suggest it. But now the Pika-ing begins! When buying a Pika, you have a 5% chance to instead get a Mimikyu! Guess Marnie wasn't paying that much attention. Otherwise, you could get either a male or female Pikachu, a Pichu, a male or female Raichu, or an Alolan Raichu! At 1/4 total hearts, Pichu can drop Shuca Berries, Pikachu can drop either a Lum Berry or a Light Ball, both versions of Raichu can drop Leppa Berries, and Mimikyu can drop a Poke Doll! At 3/4 hearts, Pichu can drop TM: Nuzzle , Pikachu can drop TM: Thunderbolt, Raichu can drop TM68: Thunder Punch, Alolan Raichu can drop TM120: Psychic, and Mimikyu can drop TM: Shadow Sneak!

Eevee + Evolutions
At long last, a ninth eeveelution has entered the mod. Sylveon has finally arrived! The eeveelutions will look and sound like Eevee as babies, and take different times to grow up, with regular Eevee's taking three days, Sylveon, Umbreon and Espeon taking 7 (bc friendship evo always takes forever), and the rest taking 5. After that, they'll produce eggs every 3 days. You have a 1/9 chance to get each Eevee/Evolution when purchasing them from Marnie or hatching an Eevee egg.  At 1/4 total hearts, they all will start to drop 6 new berries! They can drop Persim berries, Haban berries, and four types of Razz berry! Orange, based on their color in older sprites, Pink, based on their newer color, as well as Silver and Golden Razz berries! At 3/4 total hearts, they all drop a unique TM! All the Evolutions drop a TM for the move they learn upon evolving, and Eevee drops TM: Tail Whip! They've been moved to the Pokemon barn. For the sake of consistency, each Eevee (other than Sylveon, obviously) now can be switch from the old Pokemon Ranger style sprites to the Pokemon Dungeon style sprites. Flareon also has an additional config for the color of their fur, the older vibrant yellow or modern desaturated color. Sylveon also gets two extra monotone shiny designs with a 5% chance because I said so.

Vulpix and Ninetails
As requested, Vulpix! I've been meaning to add these guys for a while but simply forgot. With separate options in Marnies shop, you can choose from either the regular or Alolan variants! When purchasing/hatching a Vulpix, it has a 25% chance to be a Ninetails, and they live in the Pokemon Barn. Vulpix takes 4 days to grow up, and Ninetails takes 7. Once grown, they produce goods every 3 days! At 1/4 hearts, Vulpix can drop Charcoal, Alolan Vulpix can drop Snowballs, and Ninetails drops their variants item (Charcoal or Snowball) and the Gold Leaf! At 3/4 hearts, Vulpix drops TM: Inferno, Ninetails drops TM195: Burning Jealousy, Alolan Vulpix drops TM143: Blizzard, and Alolan Ninetails drops TM187: Icicle Spear!

Minccino
Minccino!! As a chinchilla owner and lover nothing was greater than discovering the Minccino sprites on PMD Collab. So naturally, theres an extra Minccino texture based on my resident poop wizard, Pearl. Its got a 5% chance to appear, half the chance of a shiny (somehow, this didn't stop the first one I bought during testing from being the pearl version. absolutely incredible.) They live in the Pokemon Coop, and take 3 days to grow. Once grown, they produce goods every 2 days. At 1/4 hearts, they drop Chesto Berries! At 3/4 hearts, they drop TM84: Tail Slap! And just like how Pearl actually acts when I point a camera at her, they can be seen striking a pose!

Wooloo
Honestly it would be a crime not to add wooloo. Just look at how round they are. They live in the barn, take 5 days to mature and produce goods every two days! They also eat a bit more grass than the other Pokemon. They can produce either Wooloo Wool (turned into Wooloo cloth with a loom) or Wooloo eggs. At 1/4 hearts, they start to produce Gray Wooloo wool, which can be processed in the loom into Gray Wooloo Cloth! At 3/4 hearts, they can drop TM: Cotton Gaurd. With the Animal husbandry mod, Wooloo can be turned into Wooloo Mutton. And thanks to Extra Animal Config, they can now be shorn! No longer will these sheep simply drop their wool.

Miltank
Another very obvious choice for this mod! Miltank lives in the Pokemon Barn, are born without any horns or udders, and take 7 days to grow into adults. Once grown, they produce goods every 2 days! Aside from Miltank eggs, Miltank can produce Moomoo milk as a regular animal good! This, along with its deluxe counterpart can be pressed into Moomoo cheese!
Ignore the rushed spritework. At 1/4 hearts, they can produce Large Moomoo Milk! At 3/4 hearts, they can drop TM: Milk Drink! And with the Animal husbandry mod, they can also become steak.

Lechonk
More! Farm! Animals! Lechonk is one of the silliest dudes to come out of modern Pokemon games and i love him. With their incredible sense of smell, Lechonk dedicate much of their time to foraging for only the best of foods! In the process, they may come across many foragables that don't quite meet their high standards, which they collect for their farmers in exchange for their care! Living in the barn, they take 5 days to grow up, and produce goods every 3 days! These guys have a TON of items they can find and i am not listing them all here, but they can find most foragables for the current season. At 1/4 hearts, they can also find Energy Roots, and Revival Herbs, strong healing items! At 3/4 Hearts, they can drop TM28: Dig!
Combee and Vespiquen
You can never have enough bees. Therefore, Combee! Combee has male and female variants, with the males being the default, and the females having a 20% chance to appear when bought/hatched. Additionally, theres a 10% chance to get a Vespiquen instead! Vespiquen will start off resembling a Combee, and changes into a Vespiquen after 3 days, while Combees only take one day to become adults. Taking inspiration from actual bees, Vespiqueen is the only Combee variant to produce eggs, producing male/female Combee eggs every two days (differentiated by the red spot on the female eggs), while the male and female combees both produce honey instead! The Combees drop dazzling honey at 1/4 total hearts, and TM162: Bug Buzz at 3/4 hearts. Vespiquen will drop a Poison barb at 1/4 hearts, and TM: Fell Stinger at 3/4 hearts! Male Combees, female Combees and Vespiquen can now be hatched from Combee eggs.

Solrock And Lunatone
Okay yes, these are two different Pokemon, but they're considered counterparts, so they're getting grouped together. When buying them from Marnie, you have a 50% chance of getting either Solrock or Lunatone. They take 7 days to become adults, and then produce their respective goods every 2 days. Unlike other Pokemon, they produce eggs as deluxe goods instead of standard goods. Instead, they produce Solar (Solrock) and Void (Lunatone) energy. Aside from their respective eggs, they can both produce Stardust at 1/4 hearts. At 3/4 hearts, they both can drop TM220: Meteor Beam, Solrock drops TM44: Cosmic Power, and Lunatone drops TM138: Psychic Terrain! They can be seen spinning around on occasion.

Farfetch'd
Now theres a bird! Standard form Farfetch'd has entered the ranch (possibly with more forms to follow, eventually) and he is not playing around with that leek. After taking 3 days to grow up, they produce either eggs or regular leeks every 3 days! At 1/4 hearts, they can bring you Farfetch'd Leeks! They're meant for combat, but could be eaten in a pinch! At 3/4 hearts, they can drop TM88: Swords Dance! Watch out around them while they practice their swings! If you have the Animal Husbandry Mod, you can also cook and eat him. According to Pokemon Lore, they're quite tasty!

Sunflora and Sunkern
Looks like there's more flowers at the ranch! This only felt appropriate for the farming game. When buying Sunfloras from Marnie/hatching Sunflora eggs, they have a 1/4 chance to stay a Sunkern! Sunflora grow in 5 days, and Sunkern in 3. Once grown, they produce goods every two days, dropping Sunflora eggs or Sunflower Seeds, with Sunflora also dropping Sunflowers! At 1/4 hearts, Sunflora can drop the Sunflora Of The Year Sash, and Sunkern can drop Coba Berries! At 3/4 hearts, Sunflora drops TM: Petal Dance, and Sunkern drops TM71: Seed Bomb! Sunflora are often seen waving their leaves around!

Unown
After update 1.2 tragically got sent to the shadow realm the second I uploaded it, I sent out an email to support and wasted time forcing myself to finish arranging the sprite sheet for all 28 Unowns. and then recoloring all 28 shiny variants. and then writing all the data. And by then it still wasn't fixed so now you get Unown! All forms have an equal chance to appear. They can only be purchased after completing the community center! They take 7 days to grow up, and cannot be hatched from eggs! Don't ask me why, that's Pokemon canon. Once grown, they produce one of the 5 skill books added in 1.6 every 7 days! At 1/4 total hearts, they drop the Unown Report! A key item in HG/SS, all this one really does is sell for some gold (Unowns don't seem to have any held items, I had to get creative.) At 3/4 hearts, they drop TM10: Hidden Power!

Magearna
I've recently become a little obsessed with Magearna. The ENTIRE concept is so damn similar to my favorite PC the DnD campaign i'm setting up, and her player has asked for Magearna to be added several times. I planned to wait to fully add them until I had more work done on the mods first NPC, but this file is already done. In a future update, the way to obtain Magearna will change! In the mean time, they can be purchased from Marnie for a hefty price (Mythical Pokemon don't come easy) and live in the Coop. They have two forms, Regular and Original Form Magearna. They act the exact same, but Original form Magearna has the color scheme of the first ever Magearna, designed as a gift for a kings daughter. They grow into adults in 1 day, and produce goods every 5 days. Due to their status as Mythicals, they too do not lay eggs. Again, take that one up with the source material. Instead, they can produce a bouquet of pink flowers! They produce them using the energy stored in their Soul Heart, presenting them to people in order to make them happy! At 1/4 hearts, they can produce Bottle Caps! They're given ones as held items when sent out as Gifts in the games, so bottle cap it is. At 3/4 hearts, they can drop TM: Fleur Cannon! In the future, they'll likely operate like Blue Chickens, requiring a certain amount of hearts with a designated NPC before becoming available, but this wont be implemented until the respective NPC is ready.

Pokemon Coops and Barns
New in version 1.4, we have Pokemon Buildings! Since my attempts to change the size of the normal coops door led to Robins building menu being sent into the oblivion, we now have special buildings just for Pokemon farm animals! Whats so special about them? Literally just the internal size of their doors. Beyond that, they look and act the exact same as the regular coops and barns. This also means mods that replace the appearance of the coops and barns will also change the appearance of the Pokemon versions! I've only tested this with Medieval Buildings, since I already had it installed, but I imagine it would work for other building replacing mods. This is not true however, for AT building textures. The only animals that can live in the Pokemon buildings are, shockingly, Pokemon, and Pokemon can now only live in these buildings. This should fix the issue of these fools getting stuck in the doors. They still get a little stuck when, say, 10 Pokemon try to leave at once. Just give them a second, they'll work it out.The buildings now come with special incubators now as well! Based on the egg cases seen in the anime, Big coops and Barns come with one incubator, with Deluxe versions adding a second one! You'll have to demolish and rebuild the buildings to get the new incubators, or simply leave them , since the old buildings still seem to work perfectly fine.

Eggs
After reaching adulthood, Pokemon will start to produce eggs! These can be placed into an incubator to hatch more Pokemon, or put them into a mayo machine. Assuming you can bring yourself to do so. Egg designs are based on existing designs shown in the anime and manga (Piplup, Eevee) or just made up for those without canon designs (Combee, Lunatone, etc). Thanks to ExtraAnimalConfig, eggs finally can work the way I originally wanted. Now, All Eeveelutions hatch from Eevee eggs, All combee variants from Combee eggs, Prinplup and Piplup from Piplup eggs, Ninetails and Vulpix from Vulpix eggs (the same for their Alolan Variants), Sunkern and Sunflora from Sunflora eggs, you get the point.

Held Items
At one quarter friendship, Pokemon will drop unique items as deluxe goods! Or in certain cases, collected with tools. This varies based on the Pokemon, but generally are items that Pokemon could be found holding as a held item when caught in the wild. Piplups produce Oran berries, Combee has Dazzling Honey, etc. Some items aren't found as held items, but are versions of the same thing, like the Golden and Silver Razz berries given to the Eevees, despite only being found with regular Razz berries in games. Items are also pulled from random generations, because there are only So Many options for held items. Some items are somewhat made up. Does gray Wooloo Wool exist in canon? No. But it does now because i said so.

Rare Candy
At half friendship, all Pokemon will start to dig up rare candies as deluxe goods! When outside, they can dig up Candy Treasure Boxes, which can be taken to the blacksmith to get one of the 8 basic candies (or if you're real lucky, a prismatic candy!) The 8 basic candies can be crafted into a special Prismatic candy that applies the effects of all 8 candies at once, plus a speed and mag radius boost. You know, for all those situations where you need 10 buffs at once.

Technical Machines
At three quarters friendship, Pokemon can also drop Technical Machines! They don't actually do anything at this point, but as deluxe goods they are worth some money. Each Pokemon has a unique TM of on one of their moves, mostly based on actual TMs, but a few are moves not normally found on TMs. "Fell Stinger" just sounds better for Vespiquen than, say, "Fury Cutter." The real ones have their number listed in the items description.

Treasure Boxes
Note! Pokemon must be outside to dig up treasure boxes!
Now they have even more drops! As if I didn't already have an insane amount of items, I choose to add 4 custom geode/mystery box items. Each has their own set of unique drops, and all can be dug up by the Pokemon at different heart levels! I'm planning to add more ways to obtain them, though that'll mean adding another framework mod so we'll see if i end up doing that. At 0 hearts, they can dig up Sweet Treasure Boxes! These contain Gummis! Their main function is as a treat for Pokemon via AHM's Treat bowl, eaten as food or sold for money. At 1/4 hearts, Pokemon can find Cute Treasure Boxes! Bows obtained from these boxes can be taken to the hat mouse, who will trade you for their wearable variants! They're also loved gifts for a few villagers! At 1/2 hearts, they can dig up Candy Treasure Boxes, described previously. And at 3/4 hearts, they start to dig up Deluxe Treasure Box, in which I threw all the other random items I added this update.

Getting Variants
With all the variants in this mod, collecting them all can be a bit annoying. When buying Pokemon with variants from Marnie, you can actually see which one you're getting before paying for it. When selecting the building you want the Pokemon to live in, the top of the screen will say something like "Select a home for your new ___" If the variant has a different name than the normal Pokemon, like the Eevee evolutions, their name will be shown on this screen. This doesn't work for variants with the same name, like the male and female Combees.
Pokemon have a 1/10 chance to be shiny, but this cannot be checked until the Pokemon has been hatched or purchased. If you have Alternative Textures installed, the scissors can be used to force a Pokemon to become shiny. Otherwise, you can have fun trying to get one naturally.

Gift Tastes
Some items are now especially appreciated by certain villagers! In no particular order...
  • Prismatic Candy, Prismatic Gummis and Hidden Gold are universal loves!
  • Wonder Gummis, Poke, Four-Leaf Cookie, Sweet Chocolate, Mini Donut, Donut, and Mega Donut are universal likes!
  • Jas and Vincent both love Four-Leaf Cookies, Sweet Chocolate, All types of Gummi, and all types of Rare Candy. Jas loves Poke Dolls and all Ribbons (the items, hats cannot be gifted), and Vincent loves the Light Ball.
  • Sam loves Dark shades and Light shades (the items, not hats)
  • Emily and Haley love all Ribbons. Emily also loves Wooloo wool, Wooloo cloth, Gray Wooloo wool and Gray wooloo Cloth
  • Sandy loves Wooloo wool and Gray Wooloo wool
  • Harvey loves Gold Apples, Perfect Apples, Gabite Scales and Calcium
  • Clint loves Poke and Silver Poke
  • Marnie loves Wooloo and Miltank Eggs
  • Leo loves Piplup and Farfetch'd Eggs

Compatibility
Pokemon Ranch currently has three compatible mods! Animals added by Pokemon Otters can join their kind in the Pokemon Barn! As a side note, if any other Pokemon mod authors want to add compatibility for the buildings, please do! The more Pokemon together the better IMO. And then there's Machine Progression System! This absolute madlad added 45 new mod compatibility patches in one update, including my silly little pokemon. All the Pokemon eggs can now be processed into mayo via the MPS mayo machines, Wooloo Wool into cloth via the Looms, etc. Ive been using MPS for a while now, and it absolutely rules.
I've also added compatibility with the Animal Husbandry Mod! As the Pokemon world lacks real animals, it makes sense that people would turn to them for food. There's a surprising amount of Pokemon who are canonically consumed by people, some much darker in nature than others (slowpoke tails are a great example, did you know slowpokes can drop their tails? because they didn't used to! in HG/SS, Team Rocket was cutting off slowpoke's tails to sell because they were such a coveted ingredient! S/M changed this, the retconning cowards.) All Pokemon have loved treats, and currently 3 pokemon can be turned into meat. Farfetch'd, Miltank, and Wooloo can all currently be butchered! They have incredibly simple recipes right now, with cooked meat not even getting a plate, just changing colors Minecraft style. This Will change, I just wanted this update done before i went down that particular rabbit hole. For treats, Pokemon like gummi's that match their typing, Wonder gummis, Prismatic gummis, and any berries they find (when applicable). Those who only wish to use the treat mechanics can switch "AHM Meat items" to False to eradicate the meat from the game, and turn "Soft Mode" on in AHM's settings. You also need to have both the main folder and the AHM folder in your mods folder.

Translations
Since a few people have asked about it, i've set up an i18n folder in order to make it easier to translate Pokemon Ranch. Translations do not need permission, it's very nice to see people enjoying this mod in many a language. So far five translations have been made:
Pokemon Ranch Vietnamese (VH)
Pokemon Ranch-Chinese translation
Pokemon Ranch Spanish
Pokemon Ranch - Traduction francaise
Pokemon Ranch (rus)

IMPORTANT NOTES:
It seems parts of this mod are pretty broken right now! I do intend to fix this soon, and i'm not 100% why it's seen a lot more bugs in the last couple months. I can only assume the game updating a few times, as well as the framework mod i used, combined with the fact that i was not a thorough bug tester in the first place has caused this. I have given permission for this patch to fix the issues for now, as i'm not actively working on stardew mods right now (I'll come back to it i swear). I had left a comment on the mod page clarifying that I was okay with it, but it seems it's been flagged for moderation despite that, so i'm also stating here that the mod author has permission for it to be up.
