About this mod
Now the sonar bobber will show you the fish BEFORE you start reeling it in, so it's finally actually useful! Optionally, it can give you more time to react to a bite, too.

This mod changes the Sonar Bobber so that you can see what fish is biting your hook before you actually start the minigame to reel it in. This way, you can choose to ignore the fish if you don't want it and save your bait and/or Statue of Blessings buff. Additionally, it will provide you with some extra time to react to the nibble when you have the Sonar Bobber equipped to give you more time to see what the fish is before you decide if you want to reel it in or not. This additional time can be configured or disabled completely.

ExtraNibbleTime: This is an extra amount of time, measured in milliseconds, that the Sonar Bobber will give you to react to a nibble before the fish gets away. By default, it is set to 400, so you receive an extra 0.4 seconds to react on top of the default 0.8 seconds. You can set this anywhere from 0 to 5000 (0 seconds to 5 seconds).
RequireBobber: If disabled, you will not actually need the Sonar Bobber equipped in order to see the fish on the line or get the extra nibble time and you will always have the sonar effect when fishing.
Installation
- Install the latest version of SMAPI.
- Extract the mod into Stardew Valley/Mods.
- Run the game using SMAPI
