im surprised nobody has made a mod that changes the mystery boxes to look like a wooden crate or something more "immersive". the SFX when they are broken open even sounds like a wooden clunk sound
FINAL EDIT : removed my other comment edits, they are irrelevant now that i figured out a solution. if you want to replace the mystery box icon with your own texture: 1) replace the art in this mod for one of / all of the mystery box options. 2) find the content.json file within this mods folders, open it with notepad, and change all instances of "PatchMode": "Overlay"with "PatchMode": "Replace" 3) launch the game, and use the mod config menu to select the box options you edited the textures for.
I want to give a massive thank you to kiwisprinkle for making this mod! Without this i would have been completely unable to figure out hwo to make the mystery boxes look more immersive. I would share my edited textures for others to use, but A) i dont have permission from kiwisprinkle to share an edited version of their mod, and B) the textures i used are from RPG Maker and technically sharing them with those who do not own RPG Maker is against the TOS.
aaah! Thank you so much for this mod! These are absolutely gorgeous and exactly what I was waiting for without me knowing! Please if you have the time do add the Golden mystery boxes zos <33
I was just playing around with figuring out how to get the goldenmystery boxes recoloured and used your mod as a base and since I'm not gonna use it myself, I thought maybe sharing my code cuts short your update time. I took liberty to shorten the code a bit, cause for the colours using a token is a bit more efficient. Please don't feel obligated to use it or anything, I just wanted you to have it!
WOAH this is way helpful and much cleaner,, thank you! i'm not very good at the coding portion of mods :')) so i kinda just do what works even when its clunky lol. but if youre okay with me using your code, i'll credit you ofc!! most of my the update time is just cuz im a little busy at the moment but also making new colorways so that its easy to differentiate between the two types of boxes at a glance. but seriously thank you!! thats so cool of you to do!!!!
By all means, use it, that's what I sent it for! Idk if you're on the SDV discord, but if you ever need help, the making-mods channel is really helpful. edit: oh and don't worry about update times, you're done when you're done, this is a hobby and not a job anyway!
updated now :D and yes, im in the discord, just a bit too shy to stray far from the art channel if i post at all... i'll try and get some feedback in the coding channels first next time! thank you so much again!
Stray! The modded farmers channel is so fun and warm and welcoming usually too!! :D And yay on the update! That's some nice colours you thought up there
we're on a similar wavelength! i started doing the golden boxes the other day, and rose gold was one of my first colors :) hopefully i should have them added to the mod soon!
