Hello everyone, just a quick note about version 1.0.3.
If any of you encounter issues related to this mod, such as red text in the SMAPI logs when updating to the newer version that prevents the mod from loading due to config-related errors, (some users have experienced this while others have not), you will need to completely delete the old version.
This can be done using Vortex and by manually deleting the folders in the 'mods' directory for a clean installation.
If you're not experiencing any errors, feel free to leave it as is.
Really love this mod, but unfortunately had to remove it from my mod list!
- Whenever I acquired my weapon within a fresh save, I found the toolbar alternating above and below the screen. Simple fix, as you can lock the toolbar in the settings. However, another problem came around. Whenever moving up and down, the camera would literally bounce! Making playing the game rather unpleasant.
-I do love the omni-directional aiming for weaponry, as that's the purpose I sought out this mod. But I do believe the other options are unnecessary. Prior to downloading this mod, no problems whatsoever in-game or on smapi log.
Love the mod, it is a lot of fun. One big bug, though!: If you have a weapon active when you go into an event, your character just walks off screen and the event bugs out. It's annoying. Fix that and the mod is perfecto!
just noticed you dropped an update. ive been meaning to come and mention some buggy issues that dont break the game but do get kinda annoying after awhile but im thinking after seeing this update log that you may have fixed pretty much everything i was concerned about. gonna check it out and see how its looking. my biggest thing is just the juttering and movement speed like rubberbanding when you have a combat weap highlighted in hotbar. just gets a bit funky but as soon as you swap to something else movement is fine.
Yeah the rubberbanding while having the sword equipped is tedious. It's especially noticeable on pathways such as the ones in town. Changing the movement speed option did nothing to fix it. Unfortunately I had to uninstall this mod for the time being, which is a shame because I do like the primary feature of removing the stiffness of combat. 🤷♂️
Move While Attacking/Blocking/Performing Special Attacks: No more restrictions on your character's movement during combat!
Installed this mod entirely for this feature, but it does not appear to be working.
An addendum and update: I am using a controller, which the mod stated it was optimized for. I have found that the mod DOES work, but only with the joystick NOT with the D-pad.
Love the mod, really does what it promises! However: it took my a lot of removing mods, one after the other, the figure out what freaking mod is making me run faster with sword equipped, which felt suuper cheaty, and finally narrowed it down to this one. So, please: 1. State it clearer that the mod does this, and 2. Add a off toggle to that particular function. I'd rather not use the mod at all than to have this illogical speed boost.
(sorry if I sounded pissy, was just annoyed over the time I had to spend trying to find the problem. I'm playing without the mod now and already I miss it. If you don't have time to fix it or waiting to update along with some other stuff, then maybe you can tell me what line in the code it is so I can fix it myself? Thank you ^_^)
I tried that but it didn't work, but must've been user error because it worked now when I tried it. However, setting the speed to 0 also removes the drift. I tried getting my speed up thru buffs but my guy is not moving an inch when swinging his sword. If I set the speed in the mod even to 1, he drifts. Is it supposed to be like that? Lemme know if you wanna see my smapi log.
Marvelous Mod! Only one problem: when you take your weapon and accidentally encounter some of events (like 7 hearts event of Marnie and Lewis), you will walk through the screen and the event can not work well so you have to skip it.
This bug was bothering me for a while until I realised this is basically the same thing as playing CSGO. You run faster with your knife out, so might as well whip it out.
Hey it could totally be another mod conflict which is why I don't want to put it as a bug report but I think this mod breaks the harvest with scythe mod? This one => https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2731
Can you describe the bugs or game-breaking issues you have encountered? I just tested it, and the "Yet Another Harvest With Scythe" mod is running smoothly with my mod.
The harvest mod is still functioning; it can harvest using the scythe, and you can also move while attacking when holding melee weapons. I also tested by enabling the 'Harvest with Sword' feature, and both mods are still running and working perfectly.
Perhaps, the conflict might be with another mod, such as one that modifies mechanics while using a sword/melee weapons, like a custom attack animation or attacking framework mod.
its good to move left and right... but when i try to move up or down its inverted or smth. i even deleted all my mods, to see if its compability issue. hope for the fix
Unfortunately, that’s not a bug in my mod or compatibility issue; rather, the game mechanic itself handles it this way. I’ve tried different methods, but the results haven’t been as good as this one, so please bear with me.
