Thanks for the mod! The forest farm is my favourite, but the many ponds interfere with farm decorating and planning. I don't do min-maxing or industrialized farms, so I don't care if this map has a bit too much potential.
i really like what you've done with the map! tho i am quite intrigued by the idea of this, but slightly more 'nerfed' as you mentioned in the description. were you thinking of adding back a pond somewhere in the middle? either way, i love how the map feels even more surrounded by the forest.
Thank you so much for the comment! Making it feel more wooded was exactly my goal! <3
And for the nerf, I was thinking several things: 1) slightly fewer hardwood stumps (say, 6 instead of 8), 2) regular crummy farm fishing, and 3) somewhat tighter borders with the grass. Regarding adding in more ponds, in part I think of only having one pond (in an awkward location) as a slight challenge in-and-of itself, as it (hopefully) encourages getting a well. But also, I just hate how ponds seem to push the farm to be somewhat discontinuous. If more people ask for it back though, I could add it.
(I also have plans for making an additional variation by adding in something I think could be pretty cool, but we'll see how that goes) ;-)
I just downloaded this map but visually I think having the grass from the pond extend more towards the center of the dirt area like a growth spurt could help nerf the farming area a bit while keeping everything organized in an L shape and more space to grow trees or put beehives near the center of the map. In fact would be lovely if there was just a small spot of tillable dirt in the center of that grass area, like a ring.
