Changelogs
Inspired by Animal Crossing: New Horizon, this mod adds 10 different star fragments that spawn as rare night-time forage around Pelican Town at various seasonal times of the year. If you hear a sparkling sound between 8PM and 2AM, that's the sign of a fragment landing somewhere around the valley! Fragments can be given as gifts, crafted into various weapons with special effects, or used as materials for crafting new custom star-themed furniture sets.

Star Fragments is highly configurable - you can use only the forage, enable furniture and weapons separately, toggle special orders, choose the difficulty of the special orders, choose whether to use a simple set of furniture and/or weapons with a configurable appearance or a full set of furniture and/or weapons per fragment. Decide how much content you'd like to have and which methods you'd like for obtaining it!

To see when various fragments can be found, see the following spoiler:

Each furniture set includes 30 pieces encompassing both essential furniture pieces such as beds, chairs, and tables and decorative pieces like paintings, strings of star lights, and houseplants. If the appropriate options are selected, furniture will be purchaseable from Robin's shop during the matching season - she'll stock one random Solar or Lunar piece depending on the day, three random pieces matching the current seasonal fragment, and one random piece matching the previous seasonal fragment, as well as catalogues for the furniture sets. If only one furniture set is enabled, she will instead sell four random furniture pieces.

Star fragment weapons (except for clear weapons) have a special projectile attack matching their fragment colour and can be bought from Clint's shop. Like Robin, he'll sell them during the matching season and will have a very low chance of selling rare special weapons with a rainbow projectile attack.

Furniture pieces and weapons can also be crafted yourself using star fragments and a variety of appropriate materials! Crafting is available from two specialised crafting stations which include Better Crafting categories to sort by furniture set and weapon type.

If special orders are enabled, all furniture and weapons will be locked until their appropriate special order has been completed. An additional bonus feature will also be enabled - the fragment dye station, where fragments can be converted to different colours by inserting a fragment into the machine while holding two matching items of the colour you want to convert the fragment to. Use this if you find you don't have enough of a particular colour but don't want to wait until its season comes around again!

Requirements

Star Fragments requires the following mods:
  • Content Patcher
  • Farm Type Manager
  • Calcifer: Required for furniture catalogues if "Furniture Acquisition Options" is set to 'Buy All', 'Buy Catalogues', or 'All'.
  • Better Crafting: Required for furniture and weapon crafting if "Furniture Acquisition
Options" or "Weapon Acquisition Options" is set to 'Craft Only' or
    'All'.
  • Extra Machine Configs: Required for the fragment dye station if "Enable Special Orders" is set to 'True'.
Please make sure you have all of the necessary requirements installed before installing Star Fragments!

Configuration

Star Fragments has the following configuration options:

  • Enable All Furniture Sets: This option adds all fragment colours for furniture pieces as separate sets. If it is set to 'false', only one furniture set will be added; if set to 'true', all ten furniture sets will be added. Disable this option if you don't want to mix and match furniture colours or if you find the number of furniture sets to be overwhelming.

  • Enable All Weapons: Like "Enable All Furniture Sets", this option adds all fragment colours for weapons as separate pieces. If it is set to 'false', only one sword, dagger, and club will be added; if set to 'true', 12 of each will be added (one per fragment colour plus one weaker and one stronger for each weapon type).

  • Enable Special Orders: If set to 'true', weapons and/or furniture will not be available until their special order has been completed. This will account separately for weapons or furniture being disabled.
  • Special Orders Difficulty: This option determines how difficult special orders will be. Changing this setting will not change any special orders that are already on the board or have been accepted.

  • Furniture Acquisition Options: This option will control whether furniture is available and by which methods it can be obtained.
- 'Buy All' will add furniture pieces and furniture catalogues to Robin's shop but will remove furniture crafting.
- 'Buy Catalogues' will only add furniture catalogues to Robin's shop and will remove furniture crafting.
- 'Craft Only' will not add furniture or catalogues to Robin's shop but will add the furniture crafting station and crafting recipes.
- 'All' will add furniture and catalogues to Robin's shop and will enable furniture crafting.
- 'None' will remove star fragment furniture entirely.

  • Weapon Acquisition Options: Like 'Furniture Acquisition Options, this option will control whether weapons are available and by which methods they can be obtained.
- 'Buy All' will add weapons to Clint's shop but will remove weapon crafting.
- 'Craft Only' will not add weapons to Clint's shop but will add the weapon crafting station and crafting recipes.
- 'All' will add weapons to Clint's shop and will enable weapon crafting.
- 'None' will remove star fragment weapons entirely.

  • Cheap Easy Catalogues: This option will make furniture catalogues easy to obtain for players who want quick access to furniture by making them cost 100g and making them available to purchase all year round instead of only in their appropriate season.

  • Crystalline Weapon Colour: If "Enable All Weapons" is set to 'false', this option will choose which star fragment colour should be used for the accent colour on the added weapon set.

  • Celestial Furniture Wood Colour: This option selects which wood colour is used for the base colour on furniture pieces. 'Chocolate' and 'White Chocolate' are options for compatibility with skellady's Cozy Chocolate Furniture; if that mod is not installed, those options will do nothing and will default to the 'Oak' colour.

  • Celestial Furniture Accent Colour: If "Enable All Furniture Sets" is set to 'false, this option selects which star fragment colour is used for the accent colour on the added furniture set.

Compatibility

Star Fragments has additional compatibility with Vanilla Plus Professions by KediDili! If you take the Starfall talent, Starfall will have a chance of spawning star fragments as well as star shards.

As the star fragments are classified internally as gems, they'll automatically work with any custom machines that take gems as input, such as the Dwarven Gem Polisher from Dwarven Expansion by mytigio. Mytigio has also kindly put together a compatibility patch that allows star fragments to be crafted into custom coloured jewellery!

Huge thanks and love to skellady for the beautiful sprites she created as the base of Star Fragments' furniture sets! The vanity, large rug, dresser, wall shelf, star garland, and star string lights are her artwork directly and other design elements used her work in part or as inspiration. She also provided the gorgeous furniture display screenshots <3
Big thanks as well to Wildflour for her guidance and support with Better Crafting and Extra Machine Configs! <3
Thanks to all of my friends who supported me & cheered me on through the creation of this <3
