Neat mod, just wanted to give you a tip/heads up! There's actually a way to tell if there is a crab in a rock even in the default game. You'll notice it in your screenshots even if you know what to look for - regular rocks have a deep shadow underneath them. Crabs have very little to no shadow. Just thought I'd let you and anyone else know that there is a way to tell already in the game in case someone didn't know! :)
This does not work for the iridium crab. I even recolored the blade and hilt of the knife to make them easier to see and all that showed me is that it's not changing the iridium crab at all.
This is exactly what my chillax and weak eyes needed, thank you! The only problem for me is that the iridium crab is not very distinct. Can you put make more of the dagger blade visible? If not will you support my use of your mod's content.json (to save me time looking up the LogName IDs myself) in a new mod? I will edit the game's texture pack assets myself with an original design.
Alternative idea, MOAR MIMICS! Like the tv just gets up and starts scuttling around your living room, you go outside and the mailbox does likewise, the refrigerator is in fact running! Heck, what if their friendly? XD
You can download a snow crab if you would like! Maybe I could make a few mimics for adopt 'n' skin. Did you ever want to have a meowing chest? I'm sure it will keep your items safe.

...You know I think the Swim mod actually has a chest like that (its even non-combative). I think its supposed to be a hermit crab or something? Sadly it does not yield loot, but otherwise fun
