Is this mod still maintained? Yep. The original author is no longer active, but I'm keeping it compatible with game/SMAPI updates and fixing critical issues. It's a "keeping the lights on" priority for other improvements though.
How do I get help / report an issue? Post a comment below! Please upload your SMAPI log and add a link to your message (even if you don't see any errors). This has useful info like what versions you have, which mods are installed, what happened in the game, etc.
Since I maintain many mods for other mod authors, I can't always answer every question here (often I'll be busy handling SMAPI or my own mods). If you can answer someone else's question, that's always appreciated!
Hi! The config.json file is generated after you launch the game with the mod installed. The same applies to most other mods with configuration; that's to avoid losing your settings whenever you update.
The upcoming Profit Margins 1.5.0 adds a Generic Mod Config Menu UI though, so you won't need to edit the file manually anymore.
Hi! Unfortunately not; this mod lets you set the game's profit margins option (the same one you can set when creating the save), it doesn't change how that option works.
when I started this game I chose 25%- BIG mistake, I'd like to put it back to 100%- will this mod change it automatically, or do I need to change it myself?
I am new to modding. I opened the Json file, but How Do I change the profit margin? and how can I tell if it worked?
Yep, this mod will change the profit margins mid-save. You can check by comparing the seed prices at Pierre's shop before and after changing the profit margins with the mod.
If you want the profit margins to be 100%, just set it to "ProfitMargin": 1.0 in the config.json. (I'll add support for Generic Mod Config Menu in an upcoming version to make that easier.)
Ha! I am about to start a playthrough and was considering starting in multi-player just to set a profit margin, but mainly play in Single player (because I'll have like 77 thousand mods installed xD But if anyone DOES want to multi-play a totally modded up game, hit me up!)
This mod is awesome.
So, if I start a game in single player but decide to co-op one day, do the farmhands need this installed too? If they don't have it installed, would they just get vanilla margins? (in my case, single player margin/no margin)
Nope, it only needs to be installed by the main player. It changes the game's built-in profit margins setting, so it'll work automatically for farmhands.

I'd like to do a run where buying seeds is always a net loss, so you have to be more creative.
