Hi, I have a quick question about this mod/ mod series. Do the kids still only age up to toddlers, or do they age up to children and eventually start going to school with Jas and Vincent? If no, will there be plans for this eventually?
Love the mod! But I'm having trouble understanding how to change sprites/differentiate the kids easily. I have two girls with Lance who look identical so trying to tell them apart is confusing and having two identical kids is kinda creepy lol.
It's probably been mentioned but how do you change the clothes over for each child without it registering for both of them? They're both considered biological by the config and I've set it so they have different portraits when speaking
Hi :) Then do you have a mod where both children have the same gender? You can change the look in the children.json (everything is changeable in the json except the name):
e.g. the gender: "Child_Gender": "Male", or "Child_Gender": "Female",
or the look (the folder in assets): Here is an example where the child looks like a child of Sebastian: "Child_Sprites": "Sebastian", Here you can enter a different name (all names that are under assets/adopted or assets/natural)
What you can do is copy the Lance folder in the assets and rename it something like Lance2 and shuffle around the clothes by renaming them (something like Clothes>Clothes2, Clothes2>Clothes3, Clothes3>Clothes4, Clothes4>Clothes) and then in your children.json change one of the Daughter's Child_Sprites to the new Lance2
hello, may I know this mod will conflict with custom npc which include their child sprite within the mod? such as Lucikiel, isla, jade, this might help alot, really appreciate.
Hi :) I am not really sure, but someone had the same issue. If you want to use my mod, you can copy Ezekiel.png into it. In the 'img' folder there is a .png file 'Ezekiel.png'.
1. install my mod 2. go to the assets/Natural folder and copy any folder (for example Sebastian) and rename the new folder into 'Lucikiel'. 3. go to assets/Natural/Lucikiel/Toddler/Boy/ and delete 'Body.png' and 'Body_dark'. 4. now make the other png transparent (just open a graphics program, remove the sprite and save them). 5. put Ezekiel.png in the folder and rename it to 'Body.png 6. put again Ezekiel.png in the folder and rename it to 'Body_dark.png 7. do all the same in assets/Adopted (or just copy your 'Lucikiel' folder from Natural into Adopted) 8. open children.json and change the sprites from your child: "Child_Sprites": "Lucikiel", and save the file 9. test it in game :)
Hello there! I had this new game i started...and the framerate absolutley dropped to the floor, it was slideshow city. I had to crank up the profiler mod settings to the max to figure it out, but apparently it was this mod ''Unique Children'' that was responsible. It wasn't doing any error or such, it was just updating every single moment it possibly could, draining the processor. ( small 1.23 ms update loops, but at every moment)
Removed it , solved the issue.
I'm genuinley puzzled though, as i didn't imagine this kind of mod would need constant update ( mods like minimaps, automate and such I get it, but that one i didn't expect)
Hello :) These are different things, e.g. the bed animations, animations for clients (in multiplayer), waiting for events, etc I'll see if I can reduce it somehow. I never noticed lag or anything like that. May I ask what kind of PC specifications you have? EDIT: And you are a Host/singleplayer or client?
I do posess a somewhat aging computer, but the thing is, my game can handle 714 mods with no lag. This mods specifically causes the lag with infinite loop updates. What suprise me is that it update...even at a new game....when I -obviously- don't have any children.
I tried to reduce it, maybe you have time to test it. https://drive.google.com/file/d/12L2lVVQdK_9lRlXbjBxTUgP-rkI9Mz18/view?usp=sharing However, you would also have to test it if you have children in the game at some point. So I don't know if it's worth the effort for you. If you don't play multiplayer anyway, maybe other mods would be interesting for you? e.g. the farmers children mod?
Hi! Loving your mod. I have just one tiny bit of a problem; my adopted Jeric toddler doesn't change clothes even when I rename them to be seasonal. I tried to take the offending clothes png out and now she is butt naked in mid winter... I'd appreciate your help with that! Thanks in advance.
So I have PolyamorySweet and another with a custom NPC spouse. Your mod keeps changing the parent as Sebastian when it is the custom NPC spouse. I can't seem to make your mod only apply to one of the children.
Unfortunately, I can't create custom sprites for all NPCs. but anyone can easily add some. Simply create a folder in assets with the name of the spouse and put the sprites in. For example, you can copy an existing folder.
or you open the children.json and change the name/folder that exists in assets under “Child_Sprites”.
Hi! If I want different options for the same spouse, I'm guessing I would create a new folder (like "Sam2") and put the files in there, then configure the children.json folder for "Child_Sprites"": "Sam2" - is that right? Or do I just put them all in the same "Sam" folder?
Not sure if I'm understanding the mechanics correctly, so wanted to double check!
Hi :) yes exactly, if you create a new folder called 'Sam2' and you want to use it for a child, then like you said enter this folder name in Child_Sprites: "Child_Sprites"": "Sam2"
Hey there! Just downloaded both this and Unique Children Talk, and I'm really enjoying them! <3 I'm confused on how to change the clothing for my toddler. Do I edit the Child_sprite line in json, or do I add a new line for the Clothes_Summer thing? I'm not code-savvy and I don't want to accidentally break my child!
In children.json you can set the folder (the folder in assets/Adopted or assets/Natural) For example: "Child_Adopted": "False", "Child_Sprites": "Sam",
That means the child will use the folder: assets/Natural/Sam
You can edit or create your own folder. for example copy Sam's folder and rename it to MyChild. Then you wrote in children.json: "Child_Adopted": "False", "Child_Sprites": "MyChild",
Summer clothes you put into: UniqueChildren\assets\Natural\Sam\Toddler\Boy or Girl or, if you made a new folder : UniqueChildren\assets\Natural\MyChild\Toddler\Boy or Girl
The names for summer clothes: Clothes_Summer.png Clothes_Summer2.png Clothes_Summer3.png Clothes_Summer4.png

So.....any particular reason?

You can edit or create your own folder.
for example copy Sam's folder and rename it to MyChild.
Then you wrote in children.json:

Summer clothes you put into:
UniqueChildren\assets\Natural\Sam\Toddler\Boy or Girl
