I want to strongly emphasize that starting with version 1.5 all portrait compatibility is handled through the config.json. If you're not sure how to edit your config, I recommend you download the generic mod config menu mod. The config in general got a bunch of new options so I implore you to take a look. I've added portrait compatibility for 7, 9, 12, and 32 expression portrait sheets. If your portrait mod somehow uses a different amount, let me know with a link to the mod and I can add compatibility for that too. If you're mod savvy, theres instructions in the mod description/content.json on how you can edit the specific portrait calls to better adjust for your portrait.
**As of 1.5.2 the mod is converted to i18n format. If you find any "no translation" errors or dialogue bugs please let me know what in game day it happened/at how many hearts/what event it occured in.**
If you're struggling with getting custom portraits or sprites to work, please read the tutorial article I wrote, there is further detail there. If you're still struggling to get your portraits to work, I encourage you to join the stardew valley official discord server. There's a channel dedicated to helping people install mods, you can get much faster and direct help there.
For all other bug reports, please include a smapi log. It is difficult to pinpoint your issue without one. You can get your smapi log here: https://smapi.io/log I would also appreciate if you mentioned which config options you are using (especially standard/integrated.) If your error is related to xtardew valley. Please report it on xtardew valley's page, not mine.
For those using a translation: If you receive the error: Romanceable Rasmodius > Load Characters/Dialogue/MarriageDialogueWizard has a FromFile which matches non-existent file 'assets\Dialogue\MarriageDialogueWizard.json'
Downgrade your Romanceable Rasmodius mod version to one that your translation was made for. If your translation was updated between July 30th 2023 and November 16th 2023, downgrade to version 1.5.1 If your translation hasn't been updated in a long time, downgrade to version 1.4.13 If your translation is an i18n file, then you are free to use the most recent version.
mine is giving this same error: Romanceable Rasmodius > Load Characters/Dialogue/MarriageDialogueWizard has a FromFile which matches non-existent file 'assets\Dialogue\MarriageDialogueWizard.json
Please try completely deleting SVE Romanceable Rasmodius from your mods folder, then redownloading it again. Do not copy paste and overwrite the mod. Let me know if the issue persists after.
Hi, love the mod! recently i have been having trouble with the sprites, the blushing one doesn't show up and he'll randomly have pink hair? i don't have the pink haired option on and the mods i have are required for the mod or SVE plus a visable fish mod sorry if that isn't helpful but the smapi logs send me to the Sims mod folder instead, so i can't really work it :( it's not that bad and everything elswe is woking fine, i just miss the cute blushing sprite lol. any idea what it could be? everything is up to date
And i don't have duplicates of any mods, im really at a loss on what changed. it was fine two days ago andi have not added any mods and i don't believe any mods need updating (Sprite master doesn't launch in smapi because it's not up to date so im not sure if its that, i was told it helped with lag)
oops, the image isnt working. the mods in order are console commands, content patcher, custom kissing mod, farm type manager, generic mod config menu, this mod, savebackup, Spritemaster, SVE, and visable fish
If i'm assuming correctly that you aren't using any custom wizard portraits, it sounds like the issue is caused by setting the Portrait Mode config setting incorrectly. Since you're not using any custom portraits, your portrait mode setting should be set to 7. If it's not set to 7 it could cause random incorrect portraits to pop up instead like you are describing.
If its a problem with the translation, the issue would need to be brought up with the translator themselves. I dont maintain any translations of this mod.
Hey, if i have the Romanceable Rasmodius and already have like 6 heart event, and then download this mod, will it skip all the other RR Event like the 1 heart event, or 3 heart event and such?
Hello, I have this mod downloaded and I am having an issue where the Wizard doesn't follow the SVE marriage schedule. Instead, the Wizard just roams around the house all day 7 days a week. I do have a custom house mod, so I'm not sure if this is what is impacting it but I wanted to know if someone else has had this issue, and if they were able to fix it.
HI! Sorry to bother you, but it seems that Nyapu's YoungWizard has updated the files. Currently, Nyapu's has two sprite files, but yours only has one. I'm not sure how to swap the files at the moment. Could you please confirm this? Thank you. I used a translation, so if there are any mistakes, I hope you can be understanding. Thank you.
Can you share a direct link to the mod page of the Nyapu's wizard you are using? There are multiple ones, so I'd need to know which one specifically you are using to help further.
Hi, thank you for your reply! I’m sorry for taking up your time with the check. I downloaded the files from the Miscellaneous files section on Nyapu. I’m not sure if the URL I provided is correct. Apologies for the inconvenience! https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/11491?tab=description
I had a different commenter mention this portrait sheet to me before, its a complicated one to use because the artist didnt really follow the usual "wizard expression protocol." It's still possible to use though you just need to set specific settings.
You just need to copy "WizardSP.png" into my mod and rename the image accordingly (rename to VanillaWizard.png) You dont need to copy WizardSPswim.png because it doesn't get used in my mod.
In Romanceable Rasmodius config settings set "Portrait Mode" to 32, "Is a sleeping sprite available" to true, and "Is a pink hair sprite available" to true
The above instructions should work. Technically instead of using WizardPT32.png you can use WizardPT.png, but then you have to set "Portrait Mode" to "Nyapu 12." I think the 32 setting might work best though. You can try switching to WizardPT.png if you find the 32 expression sheet to feel awkward though.
I hope that makes sense, please let me know if you have any questions
Hi! I just wanted to let you know I was having the same issue and this fixed it. Thank you for going out of your way to answer! Mod is fantastic, makes me laugh and smile so much.
So your mod has kinda gotten me motivated to learn modding for Stardew a little bit because I desperately want it to be compatible with Baechu's Seasonal Portraits mod. Would I essentially just take the portrait sheet (currently has 2) and adapt that to a 7 expression sheet? Currently, the portrait works for the wizard's neutral expressions but then breaks at random points so I'm assuming it's searching for an expression greater than 2 and failing so it defaults to the vanilla portrait. Does that sound about right? So if I adapted the 2 portrait sheet to a standard 7 it would probably work? Thank you!
Yes you basically got it right, though usually in my experience it breaks into just an empty portrait and not the vanilla but I can also see how that would happen.
If you adapt it to a 7 expression sheet, just make sure the portrait mode is set to 7 in my mods config menu. If you're going all out adapting an expression sheet, I would recommend going for a 12 expression sheet because thats what the mod was edited in mind with before I made it compatible with various other expression sheet types. But if you're going for 7 to reduce workload it will work just fine that way too.
Though I did want to mention, there already is a RRRR 32 expression compatible Baechu inspired wizard portrait sheet (no sprite) here. This sheet can work with my mod as well if the portrait mode config is set to 32. Though my mod wont use the full 32 expressions, and 12 expression sheets are still "best." I don't think this existing should stop you from making your own if you want to though!
Edit: seems like the mod I linked is broken atm, but its probably still possible to make it work by copying its png's into the original baechu seasonal mod.
Yo, while I was going through some testing I noticed that "SpouseStardrop" key for the Wizard, returns "{{i18n:Wizard.Stardrop {{expressionList}} }}" instead of pointing to the actual string. Probably just some typo, but I thought I'd let you know hah.
