06/10/25: If you are getting an error message along the lines of "can't apply data patch XYZ because there's no record matching key whatever under Fields," and you are also using Platonic Relationships, set PR's config option "AddDatingRequirementToRomanticEvents" to false to resolve the issue.
Important: If you're reporting a bug and you don't know what's causing it, please include your SMAPI log with patch summary in your comment, since it's the only way for me to diagnose most issues. To do this, first load up your save file, then type "patch summary" without quotes into your SMAPI terminal and press enter, then close the game and follow the instructions at this link to find the SMAPI log on your device and upload it. Then include the link to the log in your comment alongside a description of the issue. I'll be sure to get back to you with a solution ASAP.
Also, here are some things to try that can sometimes solve the problem: 1. Make sure you have all of PPaF's requirements installed; 2. Make sure Content Patcher and SMAPI are up to date; 3. Make sure both of PPaF's subfolders are installed ([CP] and [SMAPI]); 4. Temporarily uninstall PPaF and see if the bug still occurs (if so, it's probably caused by a different mod); 5. Completely delete the Platonic Partners and Friendships folder from your Mods folder, download it fresh, and reinstall;
Maybe a stupid question, but there's this mod and Platonic Relationships. If I just want to be friends with everyone, not date, but see their 10 heart events, is it better to use this, Relationships, or both?
For vanilla NPCs, this mod is better as it also edits dialogue and portraits to be consistent (as in, NPCs will refer to you as a friend or best friend, rather than boy/girlfriend in 10 heart events).
You do still need to give the NPCs a bouquet with this mod, however, and this mod also does not currently support any mod added NPCs, only vanilla ones.
Platonic Relationships is simpler, in that it allows 10 hearts with everyone, including mod added NPCs, without the need to give a bouquet, but it also doesn't change any dialogue, so NPCs will still refer to you as if you're dating them, even if you're not.
For best of both worlds, you can use both together. If using both together, mod added NPCs will be supported by PR, you don't need to give a bouquet to see 10 heart events (assuming you set "AddDatingRequirementToRomanticEvents" to false in PR, which you should if you use both mods anyway), and this mod's event changes will still function as intended (but, of course, only for vanilla NPCs).
TL;DR - Vanilla SDV NPCs only: just this mod. Custom NPCs: PR or both.
Thank you! I thought for a long time that it was an either/or situation, then recently saw people reviewing both together, and I am easily confused. I'm only using vanilla NPCs (except Mr Ginger who I don't think will count as a cat) and I don't mind the bouqet bit, I give platonic people who like flowers flowers all the time. I just don't vibe with any of the romancables, and frankly have started feeling icky about these clearly late teens (at most early 20s) kids trying to smooch me. (Yes, the no Harvey x Maru is also a must-have for me, how did you guess?)
This might be kind of a silly question but I'm not computer savvy at all LOL, do we install both the SMAPI and CP folders included in the download into the mods folder, or do we just choose one? Thanks! This mod is amazing
ran into a issue, unsure how to fix it..i cant see the platonic wedding dress to show up on wedding day. settings for designated spouse is fullyplatonic Platonic R+F Settings: Enable sprite edits TRUE i have seasonal cute characters installed, but when i disable spouses sprites in SCC, the wedding dress turns vanilla, regardless of Platonic settings. help please
OK--I'll see if I can figure out what the conflict is, but in the meantime, the simplest solution might be to uninstall SCC for your wedding day and reinstall it after.
okies thankyou <3 on a side note, i had also installed this -> https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/34290 which by turn, SHOULD have made it more easier to turn sprites off for wedding day. ig it didnt help
It's not related to the 10 heart event, but yes; from the description, "platonically befriending Haley no longer stops Alex from visiting her house, platonically befriending Leah no longer stops Elliott from visiting her at the saloon, and platonically befriending Abigail or Sebastian no longer prevents Abigail from visiting Sebastian in his room." If you want them to keep hanging out regardless of your relationship type settings, you can install the mod Bachelors and Bachelorettes Stay Friends.
hi, sorry to bother you, but i get this warning when i have this mod and event lookup installed:
[Content Patcher] Can't apply data patch "Platonic Partners and Friendships > Enable Sebastian's edits according to relationship type > assets/NPCs/Sebastian/Sebastian_General.json > Enable Sebastian's aromantic content > assets/NPCs/Sebastian/Sebastian_AroContent.json > EditData Data/Events/Mountain #1" to Data/Events/Mountain: there's no record matching key '384882/f Sebastian 2500/t 2000 2400' under Fields. is it safe to ignore? if not, is there any workaround? here's my smapi log
If you have Platonic Relationships also installed, change its config setting "AddDatingRequirementToRomanticEvents" to false. That will fix this issue.
do you know any multiple spouse/roomate mods that's compatible with PPaF for the latest version of Stardew Valley?
the only poly mod that's up to date for Stardew Valley 1.6 is PolySweet, but I am not sure if it still conflicts with PPaF, while the other two poly mods I know, Multiple Spouses and Free Love, haven't been updated to 1.6
