Oh that is a good idea! I think currently this is playable with multiple of the versions at the same time, but I get that that can be kind of... clunky. Right now I don't quite know how to do anything with configs, and with my finals coming up it will probably take a while for me to get to it, but I really like the idea so even if it takes a while, I'd like to do that! It is funny as a computer science major how much I struggle with computers and modding games, even with very simple content packs like this. But it is a good idea and I will get to it when I have time and figure out how!
At least for now though, I've looked through the marriage dialogue for Shane and he doesn't seem to give any gifts at New Year's Eve, let alone an alcoholic gift, so that should still work. Though if people want it, I can still add a gift of a chocolate cake (or another item) at New Year's for the rest of the spouses. The Alex version was requested by my sister, since he doesn't give any gifts at New Year's Eve in the vanilla game, and I'd be happy to do it for any of the other spouses.
Sure! I can probably get to that even before looking into figuring out configs. I will try to get to adding Shane soon after finishing exams! Having him give a modded item would probably be beyond my capabilities, but definitely I could do one of the other three items you suggested :)
Will the multiple versions conflict if you have more than one? I ask this because there's a lot of completionists and people who just enjoy polyamory who have the Free Love mod (successor to Multiple Spouses)
I came back & looked through these and since its dialogue files for the characters themselves, its unlikely their conflict (unless I'm missing something).
One does however have to rename the files, adding (well whatever you want, but most sensible would be) the characters name to the end of each file as you download them. Or else all the different "NewYearsCelebration" files will try to overwrite each other.
Omg, thank you. I'm teetotal (had a lot of alcoholics in my life) and hate alcohol with a passion. Might seem a bit extreme to carry that hate over to a game, but I don't make wine or beer or anything like that in game and it's always irked me when you get given alcohol in game (I wish for example you could refuse the drinks Shane and Elliot give you in their events, but noooooo). And I always just throw away the Beer Sebastian gives, so it'll be nice to get rid of that :D

why not make an all in one version for this mod to include config to toggle each of the npcs on or off?

maybe he gives like a juice, a cranberry candy or ginger ale??
or a mocktail? i know a few mods that add mocktails!
essentially i thought mocktails would be good to add to allow him to enjoy a drink without alcohol! but if ya can't that's cool!
even then? i still reccomend this and the never tispy mod which is part of juice cider and root beer!
i personally love em but for me i could never get the juice cider and rootbeer part to work on my end
emily the mixologist
Juice Cider and Root Beer
i'd imagine haley giving pink cake and elliott giving shrimp cocktail
