Shadow, I noticed that Muria will randomly lose her voice. If I go back to Atlantis her voice comes back and then it randomly goes away when visiting other planets with her.
I've run into that problem myself. What I found as a solution was to go into the Lodge, exit back outside, and then fast travel back to the ship from just outside the Lodge. If I did that, Muria would retain her dialog. If I went back to the spaceport and re-entered the ship through the landing bay, Muria would lose her dialog once in orbit. For me, this works 100% of the time. No idea why. I am however using one of the older versions of the mod. I haven't tried the most recent upload.
Dang I was hoping that was fixed when they updated CE, this is tied to how that dialog is handled it's locked to NA but there are some work arounds I'll look into it and see if I can make her dialog more accessible outside of NA.
Thanks mate, I'm finishing up a few things and going to push an update, I am not adding in the personal quest stuff again for now because I think that was causing the problems, I'll be working on that separately and either add it back in here or make it a addon mod incase people just want her as a companion and nothing else.
thanks for the v2 update. Will be trying it out over the next couple days. anyway to get a full esm version of the new v2 update? I would like to edit her perks. I can edit files alot easier with xedit compared to creation kit 2. I cant even find how to edit the perks in creation kit 2. I can find her npc file and edit her stats like health, oxygen, etc but dont see where to edit the perks. in xedit it shows a perks section in creation kit 2 no idea where thats at.
Sorry not sure what you mean by the full esm version? it's not very intuitive on how to do the perks lol maybe I can figure out a way to modify them during runtime :thonk:
Shadow, after you open up the mod in creation kit 2. at the top hit File then Convert Active File then select Full Master. small master is great for load orders but you cant edit them. A full master I can edit it with Xedit which is like Creation Kit 2 but easier to find and edit things.
Sorry mate was meaning to get that uploaded sooner but life uh... finds a way to derail you lol but I just uploaded a version with the full master ESM.
I found a solution that seems to work! I downloaded Landing Animation Reloaded https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/7569 which also temporally disables the follower and re-enables that follower after landing. This additional info is available on Starfield Creations. After taking off from The Lodge and then landing in another area outside the city Muria still has her voice.
Glad you found something that worked for you. I tried it and she still goes silent outside of the Jemison cell. I don't think Shadowpyro is working on this anymore. He hasn't logged in since September of last year.
Yup, I tried that to no avail. It may be a mod conflict on my end. I have been using More Immersive Landings and Takeoffs https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/2835 . That mod and LAR don't seem to like each other too much. I removed MILaT before installing LAR, and I ended up with a black screen when I landed. I ended up making a save with neither active to get things working again. Then I installed just LAR and took off from New Atlantis but she still lost her dialog once I was out of the Jemison cell. Do you have Sarah as a companion? Also, which version are you using. The one I currently have installed has an esm of 7019 kb with the BA2 archive of 41 kb.
I tried going to the Lodge in New Atlantis with Andreja and it worked. Then I tried with Sahima and it worked. Muria retained her voice after I left New Atlantis.
Looks like you're using the same version I have. Unfortunately, the other mod that I've been using, More Immersive Landings and Takeoffs conflicts with Landing Animation Reloaded too much. I even removed that mod, made several saves and found that the data baked into my save still caused issues like a black screen upon landing in several places. So, I'll have to wait until I go through Unity again and start a new game without More Immersive Landings installed. Hopefully, other people will see your fix and get it working for them.
I got similar results. When I came back to the ship Muria had her voice as expected. I then did a save and went to a different location outside New Atlantis in the ship. Muria did not have her voice. I then went back to the save and this time visited The Lodge. Then I went back to the ship and took off and visited a different location. Muria still had her voice. Something about The Lodge.
I found another fix. I've been using Optimized New Atlantis Expanded which makes changes to the New Atlantis cell. If I leave the Lodge and then fast travel to my ship, Muria retains her default dialog when I leave the planet. If I leave the Lodge, walk to the NAT station, go to the Spaceport and then enter my ship through the landing bay, Muria loses her default dialog once in space.
It's 100% repeatable as well. If I go to NA, I'll do my business first such as sell some contraband down in The Well, grab a mission from Commander Tuala, drop some books off for Cora, then I step outside the Lodge and fast travel to my ship. Every time, I'll still have Muria's full dialog once back in space. If I go back to the ship via the NAT to the spaceport and enter my ship through landing bay, I'll lose her dialog every time.
Hello sorry for the late reply my computer died on me and I only just now was able to get all the parts to fix it. I am still planning on working and improving this mod and my others. I'm glad you are enjoying it and thanks for the feedback!
Oh dang that's awesome actually! Mine was like... 8(ish) years old, but of course it died on me right after I got laid off lol but now that I have a new job I'm sure this new comp will last forever XD
Hey everyone sorry for just disappearing on ya'll had some IRL stuff come up and then my comp died... but got it fixed and finally got everything where I can get back on the grind expect updates to come hopefully soon, I lost all my files so I'll be rebuilding from scratch but that might be a good thing at this point..
I am glad this mod exists, I can't believe they never made her a companion option by default, she had such a short part in the game but I wanted her as a companion more than any of the normal ones. You should ask the voice actress if she feels like doing some voice lines for the mod, she has a channel on youtube called @NPCMuria. She seems like a pretty cool chick and might be down for it for the community.
Yes I have Sarah as a companion. I am not using the test version of Muria. The Landing Animation Reloaded version I am using is the one on Starfield Creations which I assume is also the latest version on Nexus.
Can you tell what size are the two files you have for Muria? That would help me track down which version you have. I'll have to download the creations version of Landing Animations reloaded. If you look at the MuriaCrew.esm in xedit, you'll see that there are a few references to Sarah Morgan including a perk called CompanionCheckmuriaPerk. I'm not sure what that does, but in my game Sarah is bugged and now disabled. I started a new NG+ playthrough in November after nearly a year on the old save. I only take Andreja as a companion except for the mission to rescue Sona. After doing the Ron Hope mission, Sarah was stuck on the loop of dialog where she discusses your choices during the mission. I wanted to take her as a temporary companion to start the Sona mission but I had to use a console command take get past that stuck conversation loop and take her as a companion and start the mission. Once the mission was complete, I could not get rid of Sarah, she just kept following me. In order to get rid of her, I ended up disabling her.
I did some more testing. This time I completed a mission on New Atlantis. Muria seems to only retain her voice if you visit The Lodge before you go back to your ship. Give me an update when you go through Unity again.
It could be quite some time before I go through Unity again. Here's something you can try. Leave New Atlantis with Muria on foot going out through the footpath by the Lodge. Walk East and see how far you get before Muria loses her dialog. For me, when I got between 1000 to 1200 meters from the city, she would lose her dialog. If I walked back towards the city, she wouldn't regain her dialog until around 650 meters away. I measured the distance using the scanner readings of the nearest building such as CJ's. If you go out side of the city to the West, the same thing happens. Same happens when you swim across the lake to the North. For whatever bizarre reason, her voice is tied to the Jemison city tile. You're still well within the local map of Jemison and nowhere near the edge boundaries.
For those who can have problem recruiting Muria try this. Open the console and write> Help Muria Look for the line> QUST: MC_RecuritMuria (xx020812) "Resurrect Muria"
You need the number in the parentheses where xx is the mod load order and replace them with yours. In my case is FD020812 Write in console> StartQuest xx020812 and hit enter Close the console and talk to her, now the dialog option will be there. For some reason in NGplus the Game "thinks" that Muria is dead... :)))
I have the version you put up on Starfield Creations. I was getting dialog outside New Atlantis, but now it stopped. I tried changing the load order and even disabled some apps that change the companion's characteristics, but it did not help.
Interesting. I lost all of Muria's default dialog once I left New Atlantis, but I didn't have Sarah as a companion. I went back to a save made before installing this mod and recruited Sarah at the Lodge before recruiting Muria. That seems to have brought back Muria's default dialog once I leave NA. I had this issue with the Nexus and the Creations versions. Does Muria's full dialog return if you land back at NA and then disappear once you take off again?
Here's something to try, make a hard save and land back at NA and exit the ship with Sarah and Muria. Dismiss both of them. Go to the Lodge and recruit Sarah first but don't assign her to your ship. Then find Muria and recruit her. That seems to add her to your crew automatically, but with an exclamation mark next to her name. I then manually added her to the crew and the exclamation mark disappeared. Then ask Muria to follow you and return to your ship with both Sarah and Muria. Take your ship up into orbit and see if Muria's full dialog remains.
It worked. But even though I dismissed both and unassigned both of them from the ship, Muria was still on the ship, but Sarah was not. I recruited Muria but did not ask her to follow me. I then went to the lodge and asked Sarah to follow me. I jumped to another star system and Muria sill had the dialog, and then I asked her to follow me. Hopefully it will stay this way since it was working before and the stopped working.
Nwe version, let's see if it works now. I was able to keep dialogue on a new save, never even heard of Sarah lol tested on old save with Sarah and still worked.
EDIT:
Found the issue, going to have to just give her unique dialogue options when outside of NA unless I wanna copy all her normal dialogue to a new quest.
I was moving everything over to it's own quest independent of NA but sadly it breaks Lip Sync so I can do it but she won't move her mouth when talking anymore...
That's a bummer. I got Muria to keep her full dialog when off world of Jemison by recruiting Sarah. But after a while, I found that if I returned to NA, she would lose her default dialog once back in space. It didn't happen immediately as I was able to take Sarah back to the lodge and then return to space with Muria's full dialog intact.
I'm using this mod on the XBOX and I can't get her to unfollow me for some reason. Any ideas what I may be doing wrong? I've even tried assigning her to an outpost and she just keeps following me. Occasionally, I'd like her to follow but not all the time. And I should note, she's showing as a 2nd companion so in addition to say Andreja. After reading some of the other posts where she has to be on New Atlantis to get dialogue options, I tried that. There doesn't seem to be an option to have her stop following.
Update: I loaded the mod onto my PC and it seems on PC there are extra dialogue options that are not showing on my XBOX. Whether that's because the file hasn't updated in the Creations tool or if it's simply a bug where the XBOX can only display so many dialogue lines I'm not sure but I was able to dismiss her on PC thankfully. Once I did that, I loaded it back up on my XBOX and it couldn't find the Muria file (probably because I used a more recent PC version) and wasn't able to ask her to join the crew but she was safely inside my ship sweeping.
Just to give feedback, the "Muria Crew Test" found on PC Creations has fixed the issue for me with not having any follow dialogue. The only difference I'm seeing is that before, I was able to have Muria plus one other companion. Whereas now she just goes back to the ship if I get another companion. That may be intended, not sure. Just glad to have her back on my crew.
