Yeah it's a real shame the starting command option in the ini doesn't seem to work with these set of commands. They're clearly applied in the console but it doesn't seem to matter until you apply it in game.
Hopefully someone will find a workaround eventually.
Any other console commands to further increase FPS?
Side note: unfortunately no lighting means that all computers and panels look "dead" which breaks immersion. You can still use them though.
Potato texture packs are giving me barely 1 FPS more, which is weird since I have only 2GB vRAM and I expected bigger positive performance impact from decreasing vRAM usage so much (with 512 textures mod vRAM usage drops to just 1.5 GB).
With this mod the game looks worse than FNV from 2010 on low and still FPS are so bad. Optimization of this game is terrible. No idea what is eating all that GPU power even in empty caves. Some SFX effects running in the background? Animated static objects? Pathfinding?
Guys do you have any ideas what causes such terrible frames in this game even on new cards like RTX 4060?
I saw something where the game apparently "lies" or something like that when comunicating with gpu making it highly unoptimized, if they ever fix performance will double or triple/
Thats realy interesting, the whole lighting|shadow graphics only takes about 20% of all performance this game aquiared,i cant figure out whats the rest 80% this games provided exclusive for.
Yeah, no idea what is eating all these GPU resources even with shadows and lighting disabled and potato textures. With these changes the game looks worse than Fallout 3 on low but still works several times worse.
It's one of the worst optimized games ever. Finally Saint's Row 2 PC port has a worthy oponnent...
I am perfectly honest - I wouldn't mind graphics being like this if they aimed for this and tried to make everything fit together with this in mind. I don't even mean for performance, I just don't care about "better graphics" as long as they fit together. Morrowind's still good to me. Not that I dislike let's say Doom 2016 or Crysis - but at the same time, Doom 3 was perfectly fine too.
the problem is not "better graphic", the problem is this company don't give a f about optimization, why would they? they just need to optimize xb console and that's it. they released a unfinished product and let their "fans" doing mod/free labor to fix this game
Fair, but a lot of games are. A lot of games are ending up being "made" (they like to say patched) for years. The real issue are the effects and shaders - that's what I meant. You can make great looking games with few or none at all - but instead all games nowadays are made with those and have their style rely on them.
And that's what I meant - not that Starfield's not optimized (like, how did you get that) but that most games are probably going to be like that, and it started with Remnant 2 that doesn't look good enough compared to 1st one to even begin to justify the performance. Newer GPUs work fine, but medium ones? All needs rescale. And I am afraid Starfield's hardly the worst of what's to come.
You shouldn't need to enter anything in console, these are just poor instructions from the mod maker. You can just add the following to your StarfieldCustom.ini (%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Starfield\):
Granted, the text got garbled up, but I literally addressed this in the description had you tried to read on. Even though the commands are clearly applied in the console on startup, it doesn't seem to do anything unless the commands are applied in-game.

[General]
sStartingCjavascript-event-strippedbat autoexec;
This will auto-execute any .txt file found in the base game folder, whenever you launch the game.
You can chain multiple like this:
[General]
sStartingCjavascript-event-strippedbat autoexec; bat anotherautoexecfile; bat runthisfileatstarttoo;
Edit: You can do
[General]
sStartingConsoleCommand=bat autoexec
