If you are encountering issues after loading this plug-in, it is almost certainly because you have encountered the infamous Soft Mod Limit. Please read the linked article for details and remedies.
If you wish to uninstall Ship Builder Configurator, or roll back to an earlier version please read the Removing - Reinstalling - Reverting article.
Version 2.0.0 is now out. This version includes a new collection of Ship Services options that allows one to expand the set of ship modules that are available at any given Ship Services Technician or Ship Builder Kiosk in the game.
There is also an option to enable the Mantis Transponder feature, which will allow one to remove the transponder from the Razorleaf ship and install it into another ship. This allows one to change which ship will be recognized as being "The Mantis" when one has the random Spacer/Mantis ship encounter (note - this is a random encounter - not every encounter with Spacers is the Spacer/Mantis encounter).
As with the earlier versions of this plug-in, version 2.0.0 does not override any forms or scripts from the base game or any other plug-in. This means that it is load-order independent and will not conflict with any other plug-in.
Also, to re-iterate the information from the Description tab, this plug-in does not change the conditions required to unlock a ship module. It only changes which ship technicians will carry the module once it is unlocked.
After installing this mod I am having a strange issue. Whenever I edit a ship, and then exit the editor, the ship moves to an extreme forward position on the landing pad. I am not talking about standard overhang from an oversized ship, but the actual back end of the ship is about where the middle of the ship should be, and the front is therefor also much further forward. Not sure what I did wrong or what setting I am missing.
There is nothing in this mod that should impact the positioning of a ship on the landing pad. This mod just allows one to change various game settings to create larger than normal ships. I have seen bug reports at various times where landing a ship at a landing pad does not work properly, though nothing reporting the specific issue you are indicating here. It almost sounds like the game thinks there is some additional parts of your ship further back which is changing how the game computes the "center" of your ship.
As far as I know, TN's mod alters some of the data for the various ship modules, but does not alter which keywords are associated with those ship modules. Since it is the keywords that control which ship modules are available at which ship services techs, I am not aware of any adverse interactions between the two mods.
Ship mod availability it drive by managing the keywords that are assigned to the various ship services techs. The only way that I can think of where a ship module would not appear is if some other mod altered the keyword assignments or altered the ship module form data to change its associated keyword.
after removal of some unrelated mods it seems that the major ship techs are not showing all modules. (the mod removal may have nothing to do with this). I have never uninstalled this mod. May I simply turn on recovery mod and visit of the techs to cure this?
Recovery mode should always be safe to use, it just results in the mod doing some additional work every time that one talks to a ship services tech. Given that ship mod availability is driven by adding keywords to the various ship services techs, I'm not certain how removing other mods would impact that, but it doesn't hurt to try recovery mode. One could also try just toggling the settings off then on again to see if that resets the keyword assignments.
I would also like to request a paid - achievement friendly version. I play on PC through game pass and have yet to be able to get any achievement enabler mod to work. Bakas mod requires script extender which is not supported on the game pass version of the game. Creations don't have that issue on game pass.
From the description page of The Script Extender (necessary to run Bakas Achievement Enabler) Compatiblity: SFSE supports the latest release of Starfield on Steam. Other stores (Windows Store/Game Pass/EGS) are not supported.
I submitted an Achievement Friendly version of the PC version of this mod to Creations today (link https://creations.bethesda.net/en/starfield/edit/bf8f1cfc-8d7e-490c-835f-21953f7b92c6/Ship_Builder_Configurator___Achievement_Friendly). Based on past experience, it will likely take a month or so before Bethesda completes their QA runs and releases it.
An achievement friendly version of this mod is definitely needed. 130 parts is not enough, and definitely hinders ship build and creativity. Will there such a version coming in the near future or at all?
Thanks for the update and the quick response😅 you responded so quick, I thought your response was an old post I missed. I really didn’t want to mess with scripts, so I definitely pay for the mod. It’s been a while since I used your mod, but was this also the mod that add functionality to structural parts?
no matter what option I pick I can't seem to get the malefactors specific parts from my landing bay. Is it because I am using StarUI Ship Builder or Ship Categories
I've had no issues using this mod and StarUI Ship Builder together. When you say "parts from my landing bay" do you mean the ship builder kiosk at the Outpost Landing Pad?
The only reason that I can think of for the parts to not show up in the ship kiosk (assuming that one has chosen the 'outpost' or similar setting for the parts) would be if the quest that services the kiosk interaction stopped running. There is an procedure in the 'Articles' section for this mod that describes the process to check on the quest (assuming that one is on PC)
So far as I can tell, neither this nor any other mod allows you to change the order in which ships appear in the ship builder interface... Am I mistaken? Or is this really really hard to mod? Or is there another workaround that lets you re-order them? Thanks!
Can you make paid versions of your mods in the creations? So basically only paid mods are achievments friendly and sadly there are no achievment enablers for Xbox I saw few people do 2 separate versions of their mods, 1 free and 1 paid with both being the same mod so I guess its not against the rules
Im mostly intrested in "Ship Builder Configurator Presets - Big Ships" btw but you might as well do it for other mods too
For the PC version of Ship Builder Configurator, just use any one of the achievement enabling mods here on Nexus (e.g. Baka Achievement Enabler [SFSE]).
May I have a mod request from you? Id like a mod which adds new version of every ship cargo module (mostly intrested in "200CM Ballast Cargo Hold" and "Galleon S204 Cargo Hold" looking models) but with like 100k cargo space and 1 mass, as you probably know having additional cargo space to dump stuff out to is always nice
Of course like with my original comment would be nice to have a achievements friendly paid version too
And this time please answer right away if youre even intrested instead of when its almost finished so I can stop constantly checking replies in anticipation
I think what you are asking for is a ship module mod. There are a number out there thst nerf things like cargo soace and engine thrust. Try looking at darkstar astrodynamics. Almost everything ship module has cargo space and the engines are over powered (as are the ship weapons)
Every Enabler mod I've tried just breaks the exe. I play through game pass on the PC, not steam, and I expect it's drm. The Script Extender is incompatible with anything except the steam version of the game. I've had to go through the creation club for any mods I want, so achievement friendly version of this would be greatly appreciated.
I purchased the version compatible with the achievements of the mod (Ship Builder Configurator - XBox - Achievement Friendly). Starfield Creations - Ship Builder Configurator - XBox - Achievement Friendly However, when I tried to play Starfield on the PC, where the game was downloaded via the XBOX app, when I started the game, a message informed me that this MOD was missing. After that, I went to Bethesda's website and realized that this MOD is only compatible with the XBOX. Is there any way to make it compatible with the PC as well? Even if this means buying a new version, I would buy it without any problems. I would uninstall this version and use the new one or a patch compatible with the achievements to be able to run it on the PC.
Text translated from Portuguese to English using Google Translate.
So you are using the xbox app on windows to play the xbox version of starfield? Or are you using game pass to play the windows version of starfield. If you are playing the windows version of starfield you should be able to use one of the achievement enablers on Nexus (this is why I didn't bother publishing a PC version of the achievemt friendly mod). If you are using the xbox app to run the xbox version of starfield it should use the xbox version of mods. I'll ask Bethesda for clarification on the developers discord channel.
You mentioned buying the mod and *then* going to play Starfield via the XBox app on windows - so how did you buy the mod? Where you playing on a physical XBox, bought the mod via the Creations menu and then switched to the XBox app on WIndows to play? If so, are you sure that you are using the same XBox account in both cases?
I've spoken to some folks and they are all telling me the same thing - that when one uses the XBox app on Windows one is playing on a virtual XBox, so the game would have access to the XBox mods. The only thing that I can think of at the moment is that you have a physical XBox and the XBox app on Windows but they are not using the same XBox account.
Would it be possible for you to add 'Gameplay Settings Memory' to your mod? I get tired of having to re-set the same configuration over and over as i discover mods I do not like or are broken and remove them necessitating new start.
If you start a new game everything in the game starts from its initial values , including things like recording which mods are in use and whether any of the mods are not achievement friendly- Since all "memory" is stored in the save game file, there isn't anything that I can do about that.
That is indeed a bummer. Thank you for your hard work. Love the mod. That said what we need is MCM recorder. Sets your recorded game settings on demand. Skyrim/Fallout has it, Starfield could too. Here's hoping.
