About this mod
This mod adds a full set of new ship parts and ships for the Crimson Fleet, based off the unused files and concept art of the planned Fleet ship parts.
- Permissions and credits
All parts can be purchased from ship vendors at the Red Mile or the Key. Additionally, some Crimson Fleet ship types now use the new part style, and can be encountered and fought out in space, wherever the Crimson Fleet can be found. I recommend checking the Key if you want to easily spot these ships.
Currently this mod adds:
2x Cockpits
1X Landing Bay
1X Landing Gear
4X new hab external types, and 9 new internal variants
3x new weapons
6x new structural parts
For a complete reference to how these parts, and this new style works, see the Articles tab on this page. I've got a detailed write-up there.
Unfortunately, due to my upcoming work contract I will be unable to put in the time to build these patches. However, if you are interested in making a patch shoot me a message and I will happily support you.
What's up with the ladders?
These habs use a new custom ladder system. Unfortunately, this doesn't play well with the bethesda ladder animation system, and I was forced to revert to previous methods. It's not like you were going to stack these habs anyways, let's be honest.
What's next?
Due to work commitments, my modding will be limited for a while going forwards. This mod is as you see it. When my contract is up, I hope to add more hab variants, more things to do with the payload hab, and maybe an in-game factory, but that won't be for a while. If you have ideas for parts that you think would be cool, drop a message in the comments and if I like it it'll go in the ideas book.
How much of this is from the game files?
Almost nothing. Bethesda left the interior meshes from their unused pirate parts, but I tore them up and rebuilt them, keeping the general style and texturing but not the actual meshes. The Aggressor cockpit is based off a very simple unused mesh and the concept art. Everything else is all brand new built off my own concepts.
I only want the parts, I don't want the Crimson Fleet to fly their new ships
There's a small .esm patch in the files. It gets rid of the world integration.
1: As with all Starfield modding, make sure these lines are in your StarfieldCustom.ini in "Documents\My Games\Starfield\"
[Archive]

sResourceDataDirsFinal=
2: Download via your preferred mod manager (Vortex, probably), or extract the data folder into your steamapps/common/starfield/data folder. You should have the .ESM and both BA2 files in there.
3: Enable in your load order with the in-game Creations menu or your mod manager of choice. It shouldn't matter where this is in your load order as it doesn't override anything.
There is no need to do anything special in game - everything should function properly immediately.
