Love your mod but recently I got a weird issue. The replaced level-up sounds suddenly stopped playing a few days ago and redownloading the mod also doesn't help (I thought maybe my files were corrupt). Disabling the mod returns the vanilla sound without issues. I have some modified XP console commands in a .bat file but they don't interfere with the vanilla sound playing. Do you know what could be causing this?

Right now turned lvl 32. I've been trying different combinations with and without the mod or commands using the command to add XP but I'm still getting the same issue.

I'm also having a similar issue. I just installed it manually, and when I level up, the music stops and there's just silence (As in the music, not SFX). I've got it installed correctly, not sure what's wrong. I am using Baka Disable My Games Folder so everything is installed to root, and a few other music replacers work no problem though.

you can mod for music in the style of space ambient?
    example: Alphaxone - Broken worlds
                    Alphaxone - Road nowhere
Alphaxone & Protou - The edge of perception

Awesome job ! I was wondering what format are you using for conversion, I have tried Vorbis and PCM for these files and it hasnt worked

Hey ! Nice mod you got there, how did you replace a music file ? For exemple i've found the astral lounge musics and succefully extracted it , modify it and converted it back in the same folder as yours but mine does'nt work, it just silence audio, so that means it is recognized but did i missed something on the audio file specifics maybe ? thanks ^^.

Hey, Ryderflo! Thanks. In my testing, and what I expected from the beginning, certain sounds need certain compression settings (vorbis doesn't work for everything) and meta data in order to be converted. Sometimes the files need to be the exact same length, as in other games, some require certain loop points.

Some of this data can't be gathered by converting the wem. This seems to be most common with files that have a soundbank associated with them. I've been able to replace these sounds and the soundbanks just through educated guesses and having worked a bit with Wwise previously.

I should also note that sounds in soundbanks seem to be processed independently from the environment for particular reasons. Like the Astral Lounge music you're referencing.

I'm holding off doing anything with them because I don't want to cause massive compatibility issues down the line for people and we probably shouldn't be doing much with audio until mod tools come out. A lot of the audio mods on Nexus right now are just broken, or don't loop correctly, end abruptly, or will sound really bad on certain surfaces and in audio occlusion primitives.

Replacing something like Astral Lounge should be easy, because it's fairly isolated and that bank is only associated with it. I'd try extracting the meta data from the soundbank and see if that gives you any leads.

If you talk to anyone, please spread this information for me. I'm fairly limited in who I interact with because I mostly just mod Skyrim.

I have an audio mod suggestion: Mute all sounds outside the ship in space, and muffle the firing/impacts on your own ship, as if the sound could only transfer through the ship itself.

Just wanted to let you know, installing with Vortex doesn't work due to how you have the file structure setup in the file. It just has the Sound folder, but not the Data root folder. So it just gets put in the main Starfield directory, not it's Data folder and therefor doesn't work. Installing it manually works just fine, but just thought i'd let you know. Same goes for your Subtle Quest Music mod.

That's frustrating. I'll post an update in a bit but hopefully Vortex can update ASAP to improve its mod detection.

Yeah Vortex can be super wonky at times with mod detection. Yours isn't the only one this has happened with, 2 other mods I had downloaded wasn't working this whole time because they were in their own folders or not in a Data folder. Here's also hoping Vortex can fix it ASAP.

It's probably just quiet - but it's about the same volume as the pickup in the original audio. It's also tied to the music sound category, so if that is low this will be low.

What's your workflow for creating WEM files? I'd be interested in making some personal alterations to the score, and in Skyrim and Fallout 4 it was very easy and accessible. I think I tried to work with WEM in The Witcher 3 and it was a nightmare from memory.

EDIT: I just extracted one of the Sounds BA2s. Oh my god, it's a complete mess in there, how the hell did you manage to find the sounds to replace? In Skyrim all sounds and music is formatted into subfolders by category - absolute simplicity. This is a mess!

I was hoping to edit some of the Akila City tracks - they're getting repetitive already. Maybe making every second track three minutes of silence or something. No hope doing that now...

Wwise has their own author tools you can download for limited non-commercial use. The soundbank table is also in the documents so you know what sound is where. I don't know if you will be able to "add" music for a while without it being a compatibility nightmare or more RE work being done, and it's not a drop-in replacement.

I'd be interested in replacing music via loose file overwrite. I think I tried Wwise's software but was a nightmare trying to activate it.

Hopefully someone releases a music frequency mod, because this game needs it - music is none-stop - and it's a good score. Just gets repetitive in places.
