Was half a mind to upload my custom tweaks to gamma to make caves and stuff brighter but honestly since you already have this mod here you could just add a file to adjust the brightness to 3.2.
This makes the inside of dark environments actually navigable without making the useless flashlight completely useless but without also washing out the outside environments.
Since this uses a custom script, this will break achievements. You can manually set the gamma value, thankfully. Go into the "StarfieldPrefs.ini" file. Under the "[Display]" section, add "fGamma=2.8000" (my setting, change it as needed for you. I see most options wanted are for lower not higher values), and restart the game after saving the file. It should work without disabling achievements for your save.
Combined this with the HDR fix (Auto-HDR in windows 11, check here to see how: https://www.reddit.com/r/Starfield/comments/166v1gb/janky_method_to_get_hdr_support_on_pc/?sort=new) and it looks like a whole different game. Thanks man!
Didn't want to do the neutral LUTs, cause I wanted to retain the original style, and the combination of the above 2 mods/fixes really did it for me!
Does this fix the odd HDR gamma issue? For example at the start when I'm in the cave it's very bright and cloudy. The game doesn't have a gamma correction so I just tried to ignore it for now. lol
wouldn't copying the StarfieldCustom.ini file to Documents\My Games\Starfield overwrite the existing file for those that have installed other mods that require : [Archive] bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 sResourceDataDirsFinal=to be in that file? So this mod could potentially break other mods if people overwrite that file. I'm gonna try this: [Archive] bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 sResourceDataDirsFinal= [Display] fGamma = 2.2and see if works, otherwise will add the fGamma line to the StarfieldPrefs.ini like you mention.
