Is there any way to remove the trees to see what New Atlantis looks like just with the grass and bushes? The trees are hideous and I think the city may look better without them (not your mod, haven't even tried it yet)!
Not that I know of. In previous games the Creation Kit was used to modify objects in-game. In theory you could select each model via console and remove them from the world, but that is a very long process, and I don't know how persistent it would e - nor if it would screw something up.
Yeah, it's a bit strange that everything is so static. Hopefully they'll add these missing things in the future...or we'll just have to rely on the community to give it some life. Having a working CK would be a huge step forward.
That's because they unfortunately reuse a ton of assets. The grass/bush textures in the background are the same as the underside of the tree canopy - and some the tops of the canopies as well. It's really a bummer that they went so light on the unique textures.
EDIT: I should also mention that I mentally validate the weird ground textures by pretending they are "alien" plants with odd colors and texture. Not exactly a fix...but eh.
No problem, I'm glad you are enjoying it (at least more than stock - good enough for me). Completely agree on the monotone feel and I just couldn't understand why they'd put it out with such flat textures. I guess time = money, right?
Thank you! Your mod makes things look much better. Bethesda made a great game, but some graphic choices are so questionable. Even though your mod might not be ground breaking, it makes New Atlantis more enjoyable to roam around in.
Mahalo for the kind words! I'll bet somewhere down the line will be a bunch of texture asset modifications to bring clarity and depth to the tree textures, but for now...this'll have to do. :)
Thanks for this! Was never a fan of the turbo green they chose for the foliage here. With this, there is some contrast in the foliage that was missing.
I completely understand! I'm not sure how far I'm going to go with this mod, but I figured sharing it on Nexus was more efficient than trying to send it to friends individually. There's a good chance I'll be tweaking it more. When the Creation Kit comes out I'll be modding the entire city.

TLDR: No, not in any reasonable way.
