Thanks everyone for posting, and I really want to thank modders like @Caladon, @cjdharris, and @fitzrx8 for helping others in the comments. It seems that even I may have confused or conflated rarity and quality, and passed that on to others which wasn't my intention. So for clarity, rarity is like common, rare, epic and legendary, while quality is stuff like base, calibrated, refined, advanced, and superior.
This mod aims to upgrade the quality of weapons and armor from base all the way to superior with a simple console command. I also included 3 files (besthelm, bestsuit, and bestpack) that will add 3 legendary effects to any armor and 1 file (opweapon) that adds 3 legendary effects to any weapon.
The text files I included are intended to be used as a console command and I've used a decent amount of them such as the upgarmorall.txt file to make all my armor pieces superior quality. I've used weapon upgrades too, which I usually see the damage increase, but haven't really paid much attention if the name changed as well, which is largely irrelevant to me as I only care about the damage increase.
Anyway, as I've noted @cjdharris, and @fitzrx8 have already helped others in the comments, and @Caladon literally posted a more detailed guide on how to add particular mods or effects to your gear without needing anything else, or without using any of the mods I recommended for convenience so feel free to go there for better guidance and clarity.
Anyway, the point of this mod was an attempt at pooling info and adding what I found to relatively easy to use batch files.
TL;DR Thanks for the interest and a special thank you to everyone kind enough to help others in the comments!
I would, but I haven't come across any quality upgrades for that or the unique weapons yet. However, if you want to try it, you can use one of the bat files for one of the guns of similar type or damage type, and it'll probably upgrade the damage at least.
So, if Eternity's Gate is a laser weapon, try the Orion or Equinox bat file, or if it's a physical gun, try the AA99 or Maelstrom bat file.
If those don't work, and you don't mind a completely broken and OP gun, try the upgguncheat bat file. As I mentioned before, the upgguncheat.txt file took an ordinary gun I had from like 30 or 40 damage per bullet, to well over 6000 per bullet, and I'm sure it'll go up even more if you run it more than once.
And if I come across the quality/upgrade commands for the other weapons, I'll add them.
Afaik the unique weapons has no upgrade levels attatched to them and thus cannot be upgraded. They are missing the calibrated, refined & advanced tiers that normal weapons has and thus can never be upgraded.
So curious does this work I have a legendary navigator set but it’s not advance or superior just a base legendary can this mod make it a superior legnedary
Yes, the armor set is Legendary because it has 3 Legendary perks, but that doesn't affect the stats like ballistic, energy, or em damage resistance. But the scripts I gave, will increase those stats.
Great work, but it's a "beta version" of the real superior tier for weapons, because you get only damage upgrade. My regular bought [Advanced] Magsniper and modded on the bench, reach 1K damage: after console command "amod 00131D44" has 1.6K damage. It would be nice a mod that edit the visible tag to [Superior] and the ability to randomly find these top tier weapons in merchants shop, dead bodies and world containers, accordingly with creator rng chance, like it works for [Superior] armor. Thank you. (Sorry for my English).
Edit: Forgot that you can always easily rename the weapon in the game, never used before, now it has a value. For the gameplay and the feeling to avoid cheating: every time I find an [Advanced] weapon that I want to upgrade to [Superior], I always left 15K credits on container or dead body.
No, and honestly if I'm understanding you correctly, that isn't necessary. First off, I'm not a modder as much as I am a consolidator. I took console commands other found across different sites, and just put them all in easy to use text/batch files for everyone to use. Lastly, assuming you're saying you want to upgrade the crafting benches to craft more mods via research or you want a bunch of resources/materials for said mods, there are plenty of nexus mods that do both of those things well. I know, because I've used both and they work wonderfully, all you need do is search for them. (if you're having trouble finding them, let me know and I'll point you in the right direction.) If that is NOT what you meant, please elaborate to what you meant and looking for.
FYI, just a little tip, it helps to read comments on mods before you download them and before asking questions about them. If you scroll down just a tad, you'll see nanogreen2 posted an answer to the very question you just asked. But to address your question, the command is: amod 1301EE Just make sure the weapon is proper selected in the console as I note in the description.
Hopefully, that tip will be helpful in the future as well.
Great work! A question about weapon "quality"-- Since the "Superior" grade of weapon is in the code right now but bugged to be listed as "Advanced" even though it has a higher damage score, do your batch files differentiate between the current advanced and bugged superior weapon grades?
Honestly, I'm not sure, but if I had to guess, probably not. My batch files simply upgrade all the weapons I mentioned specifically, to their highest known quality, which is supposed to be superior like the armor, but seems to be Advanced as of now. I just took all the quality levels I found for the weapons I listed and put them in their own batch files. But, as many have reported none of the weapons say Superior, just advanced at the highest level. However, the damage does go up, AND if used multiple times the damage will continue to rise.
For example to get Advanced Magstorm, first use console command to get (basic) Magstorm or find Magstorm drop while playing.
Next, drop Magstorm on floor, point cursor to it so the info popup appears. open console, then click with mouse on the small info popup circle on the Magstorm.
You should see reference ID appear for example: WEAP FF03407D7 (reference ID changed every time you drop item)
Now type in console the command to modify this weapon to rarity level you want and press Enter.
Magstorm rarity levels: 001301EE (Basic) dam 19 001301EF (Calibrated) dam 25 001301F0 (Refined) dam 33 001308D4 (Advanced) dam 41 00131546 (Any/Random) don't use
Example1: Upgrading (Basic) Magstorm i just dropped to ground to Refined Magstorm will need 2 upgrade steps: FF03407D7.amod 001301EF FF03407D7.amod 001301F0 Example2: Downgrading my Refined Magstorm back to (Basic) Magstorm will need 2 downgrade steps: FF03407D7.rmod 001301F0 FF03407D7.rmod 001301EF
Yes, that's it. You can either run the commands individually like that, or run the bat files that I posted to max them out, damage-wise. You can tailor it to your liking, the commands are contained within the files I posted.
Thanks for this, essentially, I am irritated that melee weapons are ignored by the game for upgrading, why yes, I do want to attack that starborn carrying a sniper rifle wuth my wakizashi, sadly my waki is a bit "meh"
