About this mod

I have added the Pirate sniper clothes to the mark 1 spacesuit, you can also find a tutorial on this page on how to do it yourself

THIS MOD IS MORE OF A PROOF OF CONCEPT THAN AN ACTUAL MOD, the main goal here is to show you how i did it and how you can do it.

this mod adds the pirate sniper flowing waist clothes to the mark 1 spacesuit and changes the female poncho outfit pants to the one of the cropped vest outfit

This is my first mod so it might not be the most efficient way to do it nor the most optimized, but i thought it would be useful to some people to know how i did it.
I am not an experienced modder, i just managed to get things working i dont know how and i wanted to share it in hope that some people make some good armor mods if they want to.

The tutorial i followed is https://www.reddit.com/r/starfieldmods/comments/16iv5dk/modding_guide_how_to_replace_and_retexture_armor/ which is great if my tutorial isn't clear enough

First of all, you'll need a few tools to do it :
- Download the latest version of Nifskope, you'll use it to look at the accessories you want (follow the tutorial on the page on how to set it up to make it work.)

- Then download Bethesda Archive Extractor, it'll be used to extract the ba2 archives to get our files

Use Nifskope to look for the clothes you're interested in, use file/Browse Archive and open the Starfield - Meshes.ba2 file from the data folder

Once you found the clothes you want to mix, use Bethesda Archive extractor to extract the starfield - MeshesXX.ba2 you're interested in from the data folder of your starfield game. drag and drop the files in BAE window.

As you may have seen when using Nifskope, every piece of clothes is separated in multiple parts, upperbody or sleeves and lowerbody which represents most often the actual clothes, then some other additionnal parts of the clothes which are more or less the accessories and details of the clothes for example xxxxx_misc_1_f.nif

go to the folder where you extracted the meshes and look for pieces of clothes you're interested in, for example, if you want to add the cape of the pirate sniper spacesuit to the mark1 spacesuit, you'll look for spacesuit_pirateset folder and spacesuit_suitzero.

the cape's file name is pirateset_sniper_misc_2_f.nif for female and pirateset_sniper_misc_2_m.nif for male. I will use it to replace the spacesuit_suitzero_chronowatch_f.nif and spacesuit_suitzero_chronowatch_m.nif files in the mark 1 suit. in that case, I will  rename pirateset_sniper_misc_2_m.nif into spacesuit_suitzero_chronowatch_m.nif in the suitzero folder.

You can remove every files you didn't edit to make your mod lighter, but keep the Data/Meshes/Clothes/etc... folder structure to make it work

Note that this replaces the chronowatch of the spacesuit, i don't have enough knowledge on modding to keep both the watch and the cape. look on the armor you want to change for the smallest detail or the one you want to get rid of.

When you are done, simply go to your data folder, (depending on if you have the Baka Disable My Games folder mod, it will either be in the my games folder or directly in the game folder) and drop you meshes folder. you can also zip the file and install it via a mod manager, but make sure to have the Meshes folder inside a Data folder.

this techniques works with spacesuit and outfits. but there might be some clippings depending on the changes you make or some fittings problem if you try to add spacesuit details to outfits
