Looks like we have the CK at least. I'll work on an update resaving this in the CK and adding other craftable misc items. No ETA yet.
Initial update up.
This mode is now a small (light) master and has been recreated from scratch.
This changes the mod name as no crafting is needed now, Vacuum Tape will just be added to your adhesive count automatically.
As the plugin name has changed, this is technically not save safe and a new game is recommended. But I have seen no issues with just updating in an ongoing save if you wish to tempt fate.
Working on adding other items as resources automatically, or giving an option to convert them to multiple resources where it makes sense.
"I honestly initially assumed the tape would be used to make adhesive. It's the first damn thing that runs out EVERY TIME I go to make equipment mods.
THANK YOU!!!!" - KickAssDaveOriginal
"Now, if only those useless wire spools could be melted down for copper, I'd be a happy camper. My first play through I grabbed up every spool, every roll of tape, assuming they would be crafting material. Little did I know I was simply giving my character a hernia for nothing." -Moradinsoulforger
I opened up your mod with SFEdit and tried to create a file for Wire Spools to smelt to Copper. I'll test it and post it, if you'll give me permission, but it might be better for the community if you just roll it into your existing ESM.
I probably won't come back to this until we get the DLC and CK. But yes, I had plans to add recipes for many of the misc items. If you want to put something up sooner, go for it.

After reading all the comments I found that what was missing was the "X comment" at the beginning of the file. Odd that a comment line would be a required line for it to work... But it does!
thank you for the work done. After all, Todd's team, apart from graphic artists, are nothing but mediocre. all the junk has to be recycled into something, even in Fallout 76 it is. there is a proposal to add a number of materials for production: 1. coil with wire - zero wire 2. empty food packages - polymer 3. metal flasks - aluminum 4. notepad - membrane
Dude, cool idea, but you messed up the installation path. Vortex manager, for instance, needs your file to be in Data folder, otherwise it will install it in the game main directory. pls fix
currently the plugins text vortex installation method does not work, you will need to use the manual way of setting up plugins.txt, I hope you have a couple of free hours, it is painful!
I've started on it, should finish it this weekend. I am curious if the updated starfield plugin for vortex would work without modifying the archive. I can't test it, because I symlinked the my docs folder and data with this mod, so vortex handles the current install for me just fine when i tested it. much better solution than keeping different installers, but whatever.
Can't do that yet. Vacuum tape has a reflections field and xedit currently can't interpret those, so modding that record is impossible. It was the first thing I tried before settling for this.
i dont know wat i am doing wrong but i cant get the mod to activate ! Do i need to add a line in the txt file and so ido i copy the ba2 file not in the data directory where the master file is but one lower?
If you're using a mod manager and have installed the prerequisite plugin.txt mod, you should not need to edit anything. There's no ba2 file in this mod, are you posting on the right mod page? But to answer your question, plugins (.esm, .esp, .esl) and archives (.ba2) all go in the data folder. If Gamepass does it differently, I'm out lol. I don't have Gamepass to look at.
For more detailed install instructions, look at my other reply.
my problem is i have the esm file in the right directory same one as the starfield Master file but still i dont see the recepie in my workbench list or does it trigger at higher levels?
No, it's not level locked or perk locked. Did you enable it? Did you read the instructions on the Plugins.txt mod page for how to install and use that mod?
If you look at your plugins.txt file, does it have an asterisk next to it? What mod manager do you use, or are you installing manually?
For MO2, open your profile folder. There's a folder next to the number of active mods on the left or just go to where MO2 is and open the profiles folder. In the default folder under profiles, there is a plugins.txt. Open that with Notepad or some other text editor.
If you manually installed, plugin.txt is located at C:\Users\<Your Username>\AppData\Local\Starfield\Plugins.txt Looks like Vortex uses that location too. If the file doesn't exist, then create it at that location. It should look like one of the two examples below.
# This file is used by Starfield to keep track of your downloaded content. (You HAVE to keep a # on the first line here) *CraftAdhesiveVacuumTape.esm or # This file was automatically generated by Mod Organizer. *CraftAdhesiveVacuumTape.esm
If you still have problems then attach these logs: C:\Users\<your Username>\Documents\My Games\Starfield\SFSE\Logs\sfse.txt C:\Users\<Your Username>\AppData\Local\Starfield\Plugins.txt C:\Users\<Your Username>\Documents\My Games\Starfield\SFSE\Logs\SFPluginsTxtEnabler.log for SFSE C:\Users\<Your Username>\Documents\My Games\Starfield\Logs\SFPluginsTxtEnabler.log for ASI

Oh my God! there are a million options!!!!
I even have the misc page up, but that page is intimidating :D

Still don't know why its not working for you. I did try in vortex and it automatically put it in a data folder for me. Are you sure you're up to date?

Have the duct--er, vacuum tape tagged as a resource now, instead of junk/misc.
