The cause is unknown, but I found that when this Recycle Scum is installed, the planet's Breathability Condition (0x23c7b9) sometimes shows the opposite response. Added feature: equipment stripped from a living NPC will now fall at the NPC's feet.
Added feature: Pressing the "T" key while a conversation dialog is displayed will strip equipment.
Added feature: Non-Playable equipment is now unflagged. Constellation members' equipment is usually Non-Playable, but I have de-flagged these. If you want to unflag more equipment, edit "NonPlayableUnlockerSFSE.ini".
Added feature: A corpse stripped of its equipment will freeze if the planet's environment is extremely cold or burn if it is scorching hot.
Added Feature: Many configuration changes. You can change many settings from "StrippingArmor.ini". These settings can also be changed during the game. After editing the file, you can use the ESC key to switch to the "PauseMenu" and the settings file will be reloaded so you can immediately see the effect of your changes.
Version 1.2
Feature Addition: You are now able to strip the equipment of a defeated enemy of its parts by taking their equipment one by one. (StrippingKey is not used at this time).
Functionality change: The default value of StrippingKey has been changed to "T". The "E" key was problematic to use because it conflicted with the default activation key.
Feature Addition: You can change the look of the EffectShader. Just change the value of EffectFormID in StrippingArmor.ini to your favorite EffectShader's FormID and it will be reflected.
Fixed: Mod packaging was changed again, and the contents were placed under the "Data" directory. (for Vortex user)
Fixed: A crash could occur when loading other data during the game, for example. This has been corrected.

What is this mod? This mod gives you the ability to strip NPCs of their space suits and other equipment they are wearing. Just put Crosshair over the NPC in the following state and tap the "T" key; you will be able to take off the NPC's equipment. And, this mod also replicates the "Perfect Touch" skill from Skyrim (you can steal NPC apparel with the Thief Perk).
This mod is for SFSE. Due to technical limitations, I will not be making an XBOX version.
Status:
NPC is dead.
Essential NPC is bleeding.
I am opening that NPC's inventory with a pickpocket.
Unzip the archive and put all files such as StrippingArmor.esm, scripts, SKSE, etc. and into your Starfield/Data folder (most likely under Documents/My Games/Starfield/Data), or let your mod manager install the file.
Ensure that archive invalidation is enabled in your StarfieldCustom.ini. (Look below if you don't)
If you haven't already done it for another mod, this is what needs to go in your StarfieldCustom.ini: Settings: You can change the behavior of the mod by editing the following configuration file Note that these settings are reloaded when you open the "PauseMenu" (the screen that opens when you press the Esc key), so you can change them even during the game. After saving the settings file, you can press the Esc key twice during the game to update the settings. Filepath: Data/SFSE/plugins/StrippingArmor.ini
A. Yes, I have added various functions, so I have not been able to keep up with the latest version of the explanation here. Sorry.
Q. I cannot strip equipment for a crowd.
A. With vanilla Starfield behavior, I have no control over this.
Q. I want to assign a non-T key for stripping spacesuits.
A. You can change key assignments. To change it, open "Data¥SFSE¥Plugins¥StrippingArmor.ini" with a text editor and change "T" of "StrippingKey = "T"to any alphabet.
Q. I don't like the Effect Shader on NPCs when they are stripped. I want to turn off that effect.
A. You can change Effect Shader On/Off. To change it, open "Data¥SFSE¥Plugins¥StrippingArmor.ini" with a text editor and change "true" of "Effect = "true" to "false".
Q. I want to change the look of EffectShader.
A. You can change the look of the EffectShader. However, this is for advanced users. Just change the value of EffectFormID in StrippingArmor.ini to your favorite EffectShader's FormID and it will be reflected.
Q. I want to be able to strip equipment from NPCs when I Loot them, instead of stripping them with the T key.
A. Yes, I changed the behavior to such from Ver. 1.2.
