theirs a console command you can run to do this im not sure what it is but ive done it before and im sure it excists, im loking for it as i post this. You do have to run it every time you open the game but if your having trouble with this mod and dont want to use it then try and find the command

i believe you can make it however many more ships you want but i doubt you need more then 50 so you can just copy and paste, just run the script every time you open the game
For anyone else that's curious and unfamiliar with how it works, you can use this entry yourself in the StarfieldCustom.ini (which is what this mod is doing for you):
[General] sStartingConsoleCommand=SetGS uSpaceshipMaximumOwnedSpaceships 100 Where the 100 is the ship limit you'd prefer. 10 is the default vanilla limit. Indeed, this mod's "10x" version is literally just the command above, and so on.
What this entry is doing: sStartingConsoleCommand= is telling the game to run the command (SetGS uSpaceshipMaximumOwnedSpaceships 100) when you load your game. Otherwise you would have to enter the console and use that command manually every time you loaded your game.
What this mod is doing is setting up several different [General] commands in a single batch file, and then using aStartingConsoleCommand to run that batch file (and thus all the commands therein), which indeed also contains this ship limit increaser.
just a heads up twice this mod seemed to have stop working mid game for me. twice on two different saves. i am currently at 32 owned ships and am getting the "you've reached the max ownable ships message" even though i set it to 10x when i installed this mod.
Ended my frustration with the 10 ship limit. I have 24 now and counting further. Endorsed gratefully! And it is working with the latest Starfield patch too! Outstanding job!
Mod works great.. With that said, any chance of getting a version with higher limits? I am trying to collect every ship i can and would love to see a 25x or even a 50x version!! Thanks!!
Hmmm, I have the .bat version and all was going good, then it stopped working. So unless it is uncompatible with Crew and Companion Overhaul , I don't see why, because I didn't installed anything that goes with ships (or crew) afterward...
