Not sure if anyone will see this, but seeing as the mod author seems to be gone, here is a manually updated and compiled version of the plugin. Usable up to latest version of the game. Open-source, just a fork, update of dependencies, version addition, and manual build of the original mod.
Hm, it worked fine on my machine and I haven't heard of that issue before from the other's whom have downloaded it. Lemme see if I can re-create your issue.
To stop the mass panic here..Firstly, the mod author clearly is gone. File got last updated in October. But do not despair. Secondly, there are only very few mods that use the ASI loader. And lastly, you can easily download an ASI loader that does not depend on SFSE on github:
Also, unless Toddyboy finally decides to fix his game up, cause this ain't Skyrim anymore, which he also wants to squeeze some money out of from what I read, which will probably excite the great modding community he praised so much just 2 months ago or so.. well now he wants to make some $$$ with their work too, cause you know "royalties" is just a nice of saying he wants to cash in on modder efforts... not sure if I would not rather stick with patreon, before shoving money up Bethesda's a**, cause once more they think they can get away with releasing a half-baked mess and have the modding community fix it for them.... and then cash in on that too..
I mean why do we keep celebrating the guy like he is a game design genius.. He has obviously lost his edge, cause I see none of the Bethesda flair in Starfield. As I previously wrote I could literally choose any direction in any given Bethesda title before, set off to explore and I for sure would find something interesting. In Starfield I find the same 5 points of interest all over. And when I see that the new creation club mods (7 in total) cost 40 bucks in total I shudder when I think how much they may charge for modders putting effort into creating content that should have been included in the game in the first place... or can you use the creation kit tools outside the creation club hub? I dearly hope so, or this game is so dead that we won't have to worry about ASI loaders working or not in a month or so, unless the DLC turns this game into cyberpunk in spess ofc.
I don't think the ASI methods were really a great taking off point for mods. I haven't seen a mod that strictly requires it anymore as it has jumped to the SFSE and Address Library. It is great for compatibility, but the mods that do require it haven't been updated as well. I gave up on the ASI loading platform before 1.7.29. The one mod I was using, can't remember which at the moment, had that worked with the ASI loader now works on just SFSE alone. Some of the newer features in SFSE and address library are looking to do everything I would need for the mod I am waiting on official tools for.
Second; You do know there is a difference between design and direction, right? It is amusing that people zero in on one person and blame everything on that one person. Why not start dumping on Emil Pagliarulo as he was/is the lead designer on Starfield? Maybe Christopher Rodriguez's development/programming leadership is not up to par? Being a director, yes, Todd has a large amount of sway on what happens during the development and design of a video game, but there are also concessions that have to be made for the people actually working on the game and he certainly doesn't have final say. Not shifting blame, but I reserve blame until more transparency and knowledge of what happens in the studios is known, otherwise it is baseless speculation and shaming. I agree that Zenimax are running away with the idea of trying to make as much money off their product as they can and I find their recent (again) "paid mod" idea predatory. However, as a former business owner myself, it pays off to try and make as much money as possible on your ideas/products, to find funds wherever possible to keep the lights on and employees paid. Granted, my experience isn't beyond managing more than 20 employees, but the principle still holds. Capital requirements exponentially grow with the size of the company. You just don't "say the quite parts out loud" ;) I think at this point, capitalism is going to capitalism and we should start from the bottom up by addressing their behavior towards their employees foremost. Better chance for change can come from that direction.
just wait for another modder doing update, CCR has been updated by different modder, maybe this one's creator just simply not interested in starfield anymore
yea well, I can understand both sides.. But you have to be appreciative for what you get, not what you want. I mean with all the flak Starfield has been receiving (and rightly so), one would have to be the most fanatical Todd Howard worshipper to still call Starfield Todd's Gift to Mankind, with the overly repetitive gameplay loop and all (I only have to think of the simple fact that in 8 years of development they could only come up with 5 individual locations they spammed across all their procedurally generated planets to begin to see how boring the game can be). It's not like I didn't have fun, but tbh I will now wait and hope for them to turn the wheel around with the DLC. Going a bit on a tangent here, so in a nutshell:
I agree we are by no means to entitled to get anything from anyone up here. The only thing I would kinda not be om with if one of the major modders quit without saying a word, cause ya.. in an ideal world the work is passed on to someone who still cares. But by no means can we expect for someone to keep on updating mods for a game they have moved on from. It's not like these folks do this for a living ^^, and ya, if Bethesda takes too long to get their s#*! together and/or release the hallowed creation kit so once more the modding communtiy can save their sorry asses then too many experienced modders will have given up on Starfield, that's just how it is... And from what I heard what they did to Skyrim I'm not even all that excited about the creation kit anymore, cause from what I read re-introducing the creation kit to Skyrim basically broke most Nexus mods.. so can't wait how they will ruin Starfield when they release it here ^^..... Anyway, ya.. Would be nice to know if the mod author is still working on this, or if he just quit.. but beyond that, nothing we can "demand" from anyone here
Oh,. and I just checked, literally 2 mods require this file to work, and afaik you could use a generic ASI loader (just not one that works with SFSE) and it would work just fine. Please correct me if I'm wrong. This mod was last updated in october, so i wouldn't get my hopes up the mod author is even still around ^^
supakeshi, smartest way is not to update your game until all these mods are updated. I am still running the older version. Steam says it will update when I run the game. But I am safe by running SFSE Loader.
appreciate the constructive reply. I always forget to do that with newer games (especially when you're only able to play with work/school conflicts and all), but definitely will do so!
MosherH, you also have to go inside Steam setting to choose "Only Update This Game When I Launch it". Otherwise, Steam would download the game and update for you automatically behind your back.

Seeing as to how popular Game Pass is, this is a pretty wild statement lmao
I'll try to keep it up to date :)
