This is a realism overhaul

The origin of this mod is the fact that I have searched the web quite a bit for a survival mod for Starfield since I think it is one of the features that we enjoy the most in Bethesda games and I have not found anything. So I decided to do it for myself. But since I think it turned out acceptable and it seems that this feature will take a while to arrive, I decided to share it.

This mod changes some of the game's aspects (about 2600) to make it a little more realistic and challenging. Damage multipliers, stealth, enemy AI, trading, loot, and ragdolling have been tweaked for this purpose. And is a Survival Standalone.

Since this mod uses BAT files, you can use it as a base to build a modlist of ESP, ESL and ESP that will overwrite SCUM without compatibility issues. For example: Since the Timescale is 6 in SCUM and the damage system is very harsh, if you install a damage mod, the game will use the values of the damage mod but will keep the timescale at 6. Another example continuing with what was said above : If you add a faster wound healing system, you will have the timescale SCUM value, the value of the first damage mod, and the value of the second healing mod. Which makes SCUM a perfect travel companion ;)

INSTALLATION

1- Install StarfieldCustom.ini and StarfieldConsole.ini in the MyDocuments/My Games/Starfield folder (You can overwrite or copy and paste what interests you from this mod).
2a- Install the Starfield folder content inside your Starfield main folder (where the .exe is).  If you have not changed it, it must be Steamlibrary/Steamapps/Common/Starfield.
2b- Install ConsoleCommandRunner folder inside Starfield/Data/SFSE/plugins and the .txt files inside the main starfield folder (where the .exe is).

SFSE and ConsoleCommandRunner are necessary because the survival addition.

I recommend the mod Fast travel restrictions for a full traditional survival experience.
I recommend too starting a new game. If don't, disable the gamesettings lines that affect XP in the .txt file Because your accumulated experience in the current game will give you many levelups at once when you load the mod.

UNINSTALLATION

1- Delete all .txt files downloaded with this mod in the game exe folder and delete the CCR file downloaded too in the ConsoleCommandRunner folder inside SFSE plugins.
2- Delete StarfieldCustom.ini.

StarfieldConsole.ini -Mandatory-
Allows player to hire any named NPC, allows player to train one new skill and one new perk (Trailblazer), Toogle on/off the hud, added Nightvision, a Recon Drone and a "Motorbike" to player. Added survival conditions and a craftable travel bed. Added some scrapping command for QoL. You can summon The Mantis Shield, a new companion. You can tame creatures.

SCUM Deluxe Edition
The full realistic experience. Added personal preferences, QoL loading checkers, Younger Sarah Morgan, AIO in one file game settings for better performance, stability and compatibility. Recommended installation.

WHAT THIS MOD CHANGES (or intended to)

*** BIG OVERHAUL ***

LORE FRIENDLY IMMERSIVE SURVIVAL EXPERIENCE AND HARD DIFFICULTY (not insane)

Improved NPC's AI with my other mod  Singularity

Added Taming creatures

Added The Mantis Shield (New Follower)

Survival Mode
- Fully functional sleeping, food and drink needs and penalties, with a "craftable" bedroll and motorbike.

Added loot scarcity, tougher enemies and increased injuries effects. Added dynamic weather according to biomes. Minor changes according to user feedbacks (Thanks!).

A lot of engine and gameplay parameters: Increased LOD, more quality, upscaled some minor textures via settings, increased buffer memory usage... (Tested on RTX 3060).

Most Companions have SPECIAL points and increased their skills (not OP) based on their background.* Vasco is bigger (lore friendly - Ask Barret).

Night vision (effect).

Added a "Motorbike", an immersive way to travel fast on the ground (effect). It's better in first person and aiming the gun in scope mode.

Added a Recon drone to player (effect). Better to activate it in third person.

Set Timescale to 6.

Slow XP gain.

Survival conditions.

Hazardous environments and afflictions.

Increased random encounters

Maximized Levels in levelled zones.

Dangerous fauna.

You can hire up to 12 NPC's.

Player can dive underwater.

NPC's speech more between them because increased their AI. Now SCUM is merged with Singularity (my other mod).

Food doesn't heal and chems are less OP. [OPTIONAL]

More POI in planets. A lot, each planet is DLC sized. Bigger exploration area in each landing.

Planet terrain now can be up to 3700 height.

Planet biomes are alive because increased AI and aggros. Creature diversification. Crowded biomes.

Reworked traits, factions and alliances. Now, it's harder to get real friends ;)

Reworked player conditions to be more survival-like.

Reworked NPC's combat and non combat AI. They have more natural behaviors and reactions and clever combat tactics.

Reworked building sizes (outposts and ships). You can own +100 outposts (Trailblazer perk) and you can build bigger spaceships. But a cost.

All NPC are now killable, companions included. [OPTIONAL]

If you knocked out an NPC, you can hide the body too.

Improved boostpack experience with press and hold mechanics.

You can own up to 25 spaceships registered, but they are expensive to mantain and modify.

Tweaked spaceship docking and looting range in a better immersive way.

Added random spawn encounter triggers.

Changed scanner properties to more realistic ones. Need more scans to know animals and plants and need to be near them. And scanner doesn't detect POIs too far. Compass an map is more useful.

Changed conversation wheedling parameters, face expressions, idle comments and reactions.

Changed crime, economy, player and NPC values to more lifelike behaviors. For example: increased chances of take cover, flee and search ammo or weapons by NPC's depending on the combat conditions.

Loot and scarcity tweaked. NPC's can loot dead bodies.

Changed damage (all difficulties revised and spaceship combats overhauled). One or two good shots can kill NPC's and player without armors and armored ones are not intended to be bulletsponges. But level still matters.

Disabled Stealth meter. Tweaked all detection parameters (cone, alert, search...).

Stealth and detection are more immersive and realistic. If you open fire and kill someone in a public place, probably civilians run away and guards and leveled NPC's will attack you. They will dodge and jump to avoid grenades, and take cover. They are not blind while you sneak... so pickpocketing, lockpicking and robbery are more challenging.

Loot system overhauled too.

Tweaked workshop to be more realistic. Disabled budget but not cost nor skills needed. Increased X and Y construction space and you can build near existent structures.

Combat is more challenging and lethal (tweaked creature aggro patterns and NPC's combat tactics increasing their AI behaviors).

NPC's drop equipped armor and weapon (most) when die.

More realistic death physics and ragdolling for player and NPC's.

And so on.

HOW TO HIRE without opening console (750 credits):

Press F10. Approach to any named NPC and press F11. Done. You have a new companion.

To dismiss (all the team -impossible to me do it individually-) Press F12. Note that is a mercenary, not a companion because of limitations in batch code (can't trade. But I've added a command to force open trade menu, not always works properly).

TRAILBLAZER PERK

Press F6 (70000 credits, instant 150XP gain, you can own +1000 Outposts.

IMPROVE YOUR STRENGTH

Press F7 (6000 credits, instant 250XP gain, improve your carryweight).

F4: Main Character surgery (4000 credits) Change your appearance.

Toggle on/of your HUD: Press F1

Equip unarmed: Press F2

Wait in game: Press F3

Hard save (changed Autosave): Press F5

F8 and F9: Enable and disable the Motorbike. You need 5 Lithium (battery).

CTRL+1: Enable Nightvision
CTRL+2: Disable Nightvision
CTRL+3: Enable and disable Drone
CTRL+4: Disable Drone Nightvision
CTRL+8: Spawn your travel bed (sleep in interiors to avoid environmental damage). You need 5 Fiber (hide) to craft it.
CTRL+9: Disable the bed (be careful because automatically disables anything in the middle of your screen, so point to your bed near in first person. If you disables anything like floor or furniture, open console and type ENABLE. Then try again).

SURVIVAL

Timescale fixed to 6 everywhere. This feature works fine with other survival mods.

If you try my survival experience, you must read the following:

Sleep Need: Passed around 20 ingame hours you'll get penalties in speech, movement speed, oxygen recovery, weapon aiming and other conditions. Sleep to restore.

Food: 10 hours wihout eating will affect to your regen capabilities (health, stamina, environmental damage and other conditions).

Drink: 6 hours without drink will affect to your, radiation and environment resistances and other afflictions.

***IMPORTANT***

EAT AND DRINK MECHANICS:

You need to grab and hold the food or the drink item (clutter or dropped). Press CTRL+NUMPAD 7 If the command run well, you'll see the item increasing its scale a few. It's automated and sometimes selector fails and another item is selected. I provide some hotkeys below to repair that.

Once the food or drink item changed its scale is safe to use. Press CTRL+NUMPAD5 to drink or/and CTRL+NUMPAD6 to eat. All negative effects will be gone and the "need timer" will be reseted.

SCRAPPING and QoL commands:

CTRL+NUMPAD- for disabling objects on the way.
CTRL+NUMPAD+ for enabling last deleted item.
CTRL+NUMPAD* Set Scale 1 (If survival selector fails).

TAMING CREATURES

ALT+NUMPAD0 Prepare console for taming (invisible to player)
ALT+NUMPAD1 Pacify the creature (Need Alien Genetic Material because the mind control symbiote or something like that)
ALT+NUMPAD2 Tame the creature and make it your teammate (Need Alpha Synapse).
ALT+NUMPAD3 Kill tamed creature (Need Sedative) and get 4 Alien Jerky.

INTRODUCING NEW FOLLOWER: THE MANTIS SHIELD

In the Mantis' lair you discover his love for robotics (he reminds me of someone from Boston). In any case, the Mantis' backpack is modified and can now deploy a quadruped robot to help you. You lose your backpack while it is deployed and recover it when you retract the robot.

ALT+NUMPAD4 Deploy Mantis Shield
ALT+NUMPAD5 Prepare for Teammate
ALT+NUMPAD6 Makes The Mantis Shield your follower
ALT+NUMPAD7 Fall back The Mantis Shield and recover your backpack

Thanks for downloading and I hope you enjoy it!

I've attached a list of my modlist (about 90) that works fine and makes the game very interesting by additioning some features I like.

I use some of the most popular 4k texture mods as a loose files so the correct loading parameters are in my starfieldcustom.ini file if you want to use.

* Console command log will show error message if you haven't found the modified companion yet (nothing that affects or damages your gameplay). After you meet them, just relaunch the game or type "bat Umgul" in your console.
