I don't know much about how it all works but is it not possible to bring in things like the hipster hairstyle of yours from FO onto this game? (Love your work, been using it since the very start on FO and now this, so thanks for everything.)
Sorry, I am no longer supporting or uploading new content to the Nexus. I do not agree with their cencorship practices and will not support their platform any longer. I'm prob just dumb cause I'm new to modding, but when ever I download it vortex manager I get a NMM error and no pakchunk99 files will download. When ever I download it manually I get a 7Z file that no matter what file I put it into it doesn't work. If someone could help me out would be much appreciated. Thanks!
unzip the file. there should be folders inside the zip that describe what the mods do. keep openin the folders you want until you get to sets of 3 file types (.utoc .ucas .pak) with the same name. grab those 3 files and drop them in your "...Jedi Survivor > SwGame > Content > Paks" folder.
I hope this isn't a stupid question and/or comment but how's the progress on the Cal Hair Color Mod??? I'm just wondering if you know anything about the Hair color mod and any information at all... Please I don't mean no disrespect. sorry anyways
Not at all. I was actually on the discord yesterday looking into it. From what I can tell he is pretty far along. It looks like he has the in game UI completed. Its working in game for hair and beard as well as lightsaber colors. it also looked like he had some kind of outfit overlay cooking. He had some mash up ups of different NPC/Enemy parts that override your equipped outfit. I reached out for an ETA but have not yet recieved an answer. He is probably very busy with the mod and getting tons of questions so Im not sure he will reach back. But it does seem that he is quite far along.
Oh ok lets hope it comes soon but probably going to get some backlash from the actor once it gets popular all because people just want different hair colors for Cal. He thinks its discriminating against Gingers I guess but we just want to immerse ourselves with the character!!! Idk why he's getting butt hurt over nothing...Anyway, thanks for the information and please if you could update me on the ETA if he ever gets back to you or if you find out.
He was not joking, he went on a multiple day rant on twitter and had several interviews where he also complained. The developers came to his aid and also made an official statement on the matter standing by his side.
He took it very personal that players wanted to play a character with their own design instead of one that specifically looked like him. It's 2023, every game made has character customization options. I completely grasp the concept of a story about a specific character but there's no reason why we can't change his hair/skin tone/eye color and him still be "cal"
Do you have any idea how annoying it is to be asked the same question over and over? I clearly state in the description that this mod will never do that and its already being handled. I tell everyone in every area I can to read the description for questions about the mod. Numberous people in the very same comment section have asked and been answered about the same question. I took the time to type out a description so nobody had to do this and Im still getting asked. It takes time out of my day to monitor this comment section for people with legitimate questions, concerns and comments. When Im constantly having to answer the same question over and over again it takes away from people who actually pay attention becaue I dont want to check the commets because I know its just a bunch of lazy people asking a question ive already answered because they dont have the consideration to read the description. Litterally if he would have read the comment DIRECTLY below his own he would have had his answer. Its rediculous how lazy people are.
Then ignore them like most mod authors do with repeated questions. They will figure it out for themselves if they really want to. Why allow yourself to get so worked up about it to the point you're threatening to delete your own mod?
I get the frustration, just take it as a sign that your mod is popular. The more popular your thing is, the more likely you're gonna hear the same question(s) about said thing, even if you put that information somewhere very noticeable (working in retail I learned you borderline need a flashing neon sign just for the majority of people to read it).
I'm very excited about that hair color mod being worked on when I read your description by the way. Do you know who's working on it, and/or how that mod is coming along so far?

I know modders are doing this for free, and thanks for all your contributions BUT you should take a chill pill. Stop assuming stuff about people. They're gonna comment and ask all kinds of questions. You don't have to answer but no need to be an a** about it. Not everyone is an experienced modder.
You should check out the comment section of ''OUTER RIM'' mod for Blade and Sorcery VR. That modder ''Kingo64'' is like a monk. Maybe seeing that comment section will humble you a little bit.
People have right to ask whatever they please in the comment section provided they are kind. If you can't take it, disable comments or remove the mod and save yourself a headache. Imagine threatening people by removing a mod which changes hair colors.
I dont care about that guy. Thats not me. Im not claiming to be the dali lama. I already took the time to explain EXACTLY what this mod does and will not do. Just read the description and stop asking stupid questions. It has nothing to do with "being humble". Its annoying to me and only exists because some people are lazy and inconsiderate.
if its work in progress will there be more cheanges to difrent chareckters or only the one that you arledy made i mean like cheanges to cere to some of the npc in the saloon
I havent uploaded yet but I have currently completed a Cere retexture that alters her tattoos, a retexture of Moran to make him have human skin, and retexture of Bodes shirt. I will keep making more as I see fit. Im currently trying to learn mesh edits so I can do things like swap out Merrins hair and create sum cool stuff for cal.
I am in the works on those. They take a lot of files to make one new skin texture and I have been busy this week. I do have a few other retextures for Cal and Cere that should be coming out soon as well. Hopefullly by this weekend we will see something.
Tested your mod, Merlin and Greez paks definetely show up in my game, the only thing I got for Cal is that Rebel tattoo, but this one won't show up in my game. Do I need the other Cal stuff? Or it's unrelated maybe I don't know.
Just for debug reasons, tattoo does not show for me as well I installed cal's dark hair undertexture only, AND the tattoo , hair OK tattoo is not present.
By the way, nice work on the hair! I think it was pretty hard to find the way how would it look OK for the beard and scalp, but looks absolutely natural.
