Before installing, I want to know a couple of things: - Does this still work with the current YOSE version? - Will this allow me to slow down or pause the ongoing missions? - By installing this and "stopping" time, will it block new missions (such as clear infestation, save ally and so on) to be added? - If I pause the time and stop playing for a week, when I return to play the time will still be paused? (I can't focus on only one game). I really like the game, but it gives too many missions to do and not even time to do them all.
Thank you so much for this great mod , but i have found a "problem" , the "night - day" cycle in the game has stopped , which means when it's 18:00 the game displays "night" but never displays "day" at 6:00 in the morning , and game stays at the first date in game (you don't progress in time) . I hope you will look into this , and i apologize for my poor English , it's not my native language .
I can confirm this: if you look in your journal's diary, the date remains the same (whatever date it is you're playing on) and an entry for the following day is never lodged in the diary (on events, skill progression, etc.).
Which poses the question: Does this behaviour break things ingame?
I use MasterClock to read the journal in peace without being attacked - not for the day/night cycle which I set at the game's default (1 hour for day and 1 hour for night, which is a full game day) - so I would sadly miss MasterClock for that aspect, but would prefer a simple pause button (or slow motion, since pause is problematic when choosing a specialization... resolved by pressing slow motion) when accessing the journal, map, radio, or containers.
On containers, I notice that when you enter one the game pauses but changes to slow motion when taking an item and then reverts back; is it possible for a version of that alone, with maybe the clock, because, frankly, I do not feel comfortable with the non progression of time in the journal's diary, as I fear it *will break things - as it already *has, as noted by the previous post (by miragefortuno): The notice for a new day, "Survived Another Day," does not appear at 6:00 am; only the night time notice appears at 6:00 pm.
For example (searching for a pause option), I just read on a Steam forum (dated 2013, entitled "Pausing The Game"): "Is there an option somewhere I [Driverben] missed or is this just not possible?" "It's a 'persistant world,' meaning, the game is programed to check on the [real] time that passes [in *your world, as evident by the diary date *yours] and so when you re-launch the game you will find that the survivors will have still gone on about their business, and also use resources and such." Albeit the subject ("Is there anyway to pause the game while I'm not playing?") not exactly in the same ballpark, the principle remains the same and poses the same question:
Will other irregularities be as glaringly obvious. Forgive my tone but you yourself seem to not wish to acknowledge this (or have not grasped the problem) with the line "MasterClock does not change the calendar date or time," whereas it *does by not allowing ledgered and notified time to progress.
It is a fine mod but as noted has its flaws - not to mention the flickering icons in the journal - and one of which is:
It will forever be Christmas seeing you uploaded on Christmas Day Master Och I stay Ratherigo:
Just for a moment to credit Mystix for the answer that he gave Driverben, whose reply to Mystix was ironically followed by King David: "This does make it hard to keep involved in this game. I get the idea [Persistant World], but it ends up being a huge burden." - steamcommunity.com/app/241540/discussions/0/864980734475741310.
Thank God for forums! Real Voicessation! RV Breakdown!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Excuse my Drivel Ben trovato (invented but plausible... paranoia about breaking things, being an avid reader of QMJS' fears about the game being easily broken)! "Se non è vero, è ben trovato (if it is not true, it is... plausible)!" But I have now found out - playing past midnight in real time - that the journal's diary does record the following date... confused with the ingame next day, which, alas, still does not give notification thereof using this fine but flawed mod. Merry Xmas, and Thanx! I am grateful.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Reading more on the latter subject there seems to be "a limit of, I think, two hours (in-game time) that can count as one day; after that it freezes." - steamcommunity.com/app/329430/discussions/0/1700542332337715247:
"Time does pass; the ingame caclulations have always stopped after 48 real life hours logged off in my experience. So, if you relog after say a month of not playing the game, it will be the same as if you had only been away 2 days. You can always test this with your computer clock too. I'm not a big fan of this mechanic and thankfully Undead Labs have confirmed that SOD2 will not have this featureadieu."
And my sincere apologies for doubting the validity of your argument, Lastp0st (reiterated):
"MasterClock does *not change the calendar date or time."
Tell me about it! I've been having a headache trying to get this mod to work - in my case, with "QMJS Extended Functions Mod-V2.01 YOSE" mod, if that matters: whether QMJS effects MasterClock or whether MasterClock was last updated in 2014 and therefore not up to date with YOSE, if that matters, in case you're playing with YOSE and/or QMJS.
MasterClock does not effect the real time calendar date that you can find in your journal, as the game reads your date - 3/4/2023, for example, lodged in the journal - but the journal does not list a time of day; although it seems it effects the notice for "Survived Another Day." QMJS had this to say: "Wait until the next daily reset (after logging out, when starting again and getting the "Survived Another Day" messages.)" But I have yet to get one with MasterClock installed.
QMJS continues to say: "The "Next Day" events are on a 14-hour cycle. Once one happens, it won't happen again for 14 hours of real time. During that period, you can log in/out as often as you want. It also only happens upon logging in, so if you are actively playing when the timer is up, it won't happen until you log out and back in. If you stay logged out for an additional 14 hours, you will get essentially two "next Day" events at once, but no more than that."
Another thing I came across was a bug when looting that does not occur when MasterClock is not installed. If you come across this and still wish to use MasterClock, setting the "[Automatic Pause/Slow-Motion]" to Slow-Motion fixes the sinking into floors when looting - especially rucksacks, as they, like choosing a skill and/or destroying an item, need time to complete the task that the MasterClock pause effects: not letting you complete it (using slow-motion solves this. Choosing Slow-Motion over Pause is found in MasterClock's settings ingame). The drawback to setting it to slowest slow-motion (1 the slowest, 7 fastest) is that it takes a lot longer to load a rucksack - so, if preferable, when and if any sinking occurs, set it to slow-motion then - but if you do so, you may be caught out by the bug and sink below the floorboards that at times does not allow you to resurface, stuck below, and therefore would need to exit the game and therefore lose any progress made in it.
But, honestly, I am asking myself why I am continuing to use MasterClock, as, along with its other glitches (and possibly not entirely compatible with YOSE), it also causes my game (mod list setup) to freeze when exiting your journal and/or a container you've looted, as well as when driving (when entering and then exiting your journal or the map): your car will freeze too; all of which can only be fixed by re-entering the game by pressing Escape ("Back/Pause" in the game's controls settings). This freezing does not happen all the time but enough to make me change my mind about using MasterClock, which I really only use so I can read the journal and view the map in peace without being attacked since MasterClock slows down time or pauses it when doing so, which is a pro than con for MasterClock, which I would sorely miss (though it does remove the tension from the game you feel when reading the journal and/or viewing the map in peace with MasterClock): losing that but regaining the tension is something.
It is a wonderful mod and I'm not bashing it (it probably works without issue in a non YOSE game and/or unmodded), but for me, its cons now outweigh its pros. My only other pro is that it can also slow down time by configuring the game's "Camera/Zoom" control to that of the MasterClock slow-motion control; but the drawback to that is that it makes the skill "Focus Aim" redundant. The cons for me are the stuttering (flashing) of skills and icons; the effect it has on choosing a skill, destroying an item, or loading a rucksack; the freezing; and the floorboards bug, to name those off the top of my head. So, I'm "banging this on the head!" ach.
To author: if you play SoD2 - PLEASE, create the analogical mod! It's No1 mod and most needed countermeasure to prevent idiotic frequent radiant quest spam and take some quiet times to player!
Hello Mr. Lastp0st! I have a question that would decide if I am to continue playing the game or not: Does your mod stop the "Persistent World" feature? I have searched the net far and wide for something like Zombie Standard Time which doesn't require Steam. Will this mod at least stop people from dying while I'm not playing?
hes already posted in description it doesn't do anything to the persistent world feature. What I do is simply backup my game with a manual save when ever i "exit" the game for a period of time. This way when i restart, if something bad happens since i last played, i simply reload my manual save and try again until nothing bad happens.
Did someone had success installing this mod on the GamePass version for pc? I did put the files in the game folder as instructed, but nothing happens when i press the shortcuts

Sorry to say: MasterClock does not change the calendar date or time.
It can only change the time of the environment in the map.
The "night" text that you see being displayed is not under my control.
I have no idea how to fix that one, sorry
Hope you are well.

I have just returned from a very long leave of absence.
Just checked and found that it works with YOSE.
Still got a few existing bugs that needs to be fixed.
Will release a new version soon.
YOSE will be epic with ur mod!
I did put the files in the game folder as instructed, but nothing happens when i press the shortcuts
*bump* "compatible with YOSE and QMJS"
