Trait Diversity on the steam workshop covers a lot of these traits, and a lot more. I haven't had a thorough look through them all, but with 200+ it's probably a better choice than this mod is anyway.
This mod misses the point that "dirt" has little energy value, being already the product of a lot of digestive processes from macro and microorganisms. And this is if you refer as black earth as "dirt". If by "dirt" you mean actual inanimate matter like clay, rock and other minerals, then how can your people not need food when they are not intaking chemical energy in any way? All life has to sustain itself by intaking energy in some form. This mod fails to realize this simple concept so you can have genius races with no energy intake or extreme energy-saving measures. A universal impossibility, sheer silliness. A "lithovore" makes some sense because you can assume those races feed on specific rock formations that contain chemical energy. Think radioactive isotopes, unstable compounds, magmatic energy etc. But of course that would mean a lot of time would be spent searching for those minerals, as they can't be "cultivated", making regular food-consuming species more efficient.
Hey so my version of the mod should work okay-ish. This mod is a monstrosity. I'm going to rebuild it (along with restoring vanilla traits). If you have any bugs please comment on that mod page and I will be sure to fix them. :)
I second this. I just purchased Stellaris along with Apocalypse, Utopia, and a couple of the story packs during a sale on GOG this weekend. I would love to use this mod but I only have access to version 2.2.7.
