for those of you confused, you have to extract the file where the save games are stored, when you extract the file, be sure to move whatever files are stores in your 'slot0000' to a new next unused slot, eg. if your newest save game is 'slot0003' make sure you move the stuff from slot'0000' to a new slot, for this example 'slot0004' than extract and the new save game file should be your 'slot0000'
The Base is pretty big, so you will be running this game at low frame rate if your PC is on the lower end. But if you have a beefy commuter you should be able to run this at 30 fps minimum
If you can't find it you installed the save file wrong. You should spawn in the base if it was installed right. Like I stated in the description make sure you put it in the right path. If you are an epic games user i linked in a guide on how to install this save file properly.
ehhh im not sure, as long as you manage to install the required mods for your build you should be fine, then its just a matter of finding your save folder
Installed it and all the mods required with Vortex and still end up spawning in the lifepod with no beacons, I originally downloaded the game through steam if that changes things. Please help, thank you.
sorry for the late response i got a lot of school lately, it looks like you have installed the save incorrectly, the save file spawns you inside the base already. try installing it manually instead of using vortex.
paste the file you downloaded into "C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Subnautica\SNAppData\SavedGames"
Was wondering if modded creatures will spawn in? I know the game relies on cellscache and whatnot to keep track of spawning points or such, but any idea if I'd download this I would still have custom creatures spawn in rather than only vanilla?
i have no idea, but i would see no reason why it would not work. if this helps the save file has not triggered any radio calls or any encounters, so its pretty much a fresh start.
I downloaded the mod using Vortex (I am an Epic Games user) but when I create a new world, I spawn in the life pod and have no beacons for the base location. I do have 2 other save files, and I am using creative, so it might have something to do with that?
may be. this is way out of my reach so i cant really help with epic users, i never buy games from epic or even mod from them since their platform is pain in the ass for modding.
i have found an article that might help. https://www.pwrdown.com/gaming/subnautica-save-location-for-steam-epic-games-mac/
first make sure you have the save file properly installed, from what it looks like you may have installed it incorrectly. your spawn should be already at the base (if not for a strange reason) you have beacons marked in your PDA. make sure you install it through vertex if you are an epic games user.
