"At the cost of permanently reduce the battery capacity by 20, get a boost for 15 seconds". Permanently for just 15 seconds seems a bit overkill. Especially since that mean you can only use it 5 time before your battery is dead. + it's only doubled, which mean you still can't escape the fastest fish... which are of course Leviathan.
I see, seem I miscalculated the number. I intended it for emergency only so the price must be high enough. But you can almost make another battery, I consider them cheap enough. Or you can also tweak the number in the config file as well.
Don't tell anyone but there is a trick, if you use Recyclotron and craft the battery again, the capacity returns!
I still think permanently reducing the battery is overkill. I personally more think there should be a timer before this capacity comes back. Maybe a long one but definitely not something overkill as it make you spend ressources for no reasons
Personally, I like such high cost of emergency mode. I would even prefer to introduce "health" to Seaglide itself. And using emergency mode will gradually reduce Seaglide health instead of battery capacity. When Seaglide runs out of health, it will stop working. Also, if you try to recycle damaged Seaglide with Recyclotron, you will receive Titanium and Copper Wire back, but won't receive Oil.
I updated the mod to v1.1, the speed boost should be 2.5 now, which is VERY fast (x3 would sometimes break the game). There is also option (not by default) now that you can use a lot of battery charge instead of permanent capacity damage.
I like the idea of it but as others said killing the battery permanently is a bad deal. I see that you added the option to disable that which is great. Honestly a mod that just brings the SeaGlide's speed back to how it was in the original Subnautica would have been preferred as right now in the base game it seems like it offers no speed boost compared to the regular fins which makes it useless. If there is one, I sure can't tell. Unfortunately, the cheat "fast SeaGlide" makes it too fast.
could you make it optional to be only temporary costs? i would then make it for example 50% of the battery gets instant depleted and the boost then have a cooldown of 1h (maybe as configurable too)?
Updated to v1.1 to add your request. It's not by default however. If you do not want to damage your battery, change `OverchargeBatteryCost` to 0 and maybe set `OverchargeEnergyConsumption` to some high number to accommodate a "fair" cost?
