DO NOT USE VORTEX! Just put this into folder manually.
Works with BepInEx and QModManager
Install Map mod using BepInEx (or qModManager ). Then just unpack files of this mod into the game folder, if you're using Steam, right click on Subnautica game in the Steam Library, hover your mouse over local files, and click "Browse local files".
if you're using BepInEx then unpack files into: SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\SubnauticaZero\BepInEx\plugins
if you're using QModManager then unpack files into SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\SubnauticaZero\QMods folder.

Was having some trouble revealing entire map and legend. Yes, there is an option in mod settings to remove fog, however this was only added when I installed both map and detailed map via bepinex. I don't think it will work if installed via qmods. Might just be me though. Hope this helps someone. Thanks for the awesome mod!
No matter what I do, I can't get this thing to show a map, neither the first one you need to install nor this one, it doesn't even show up in mod options. I've tried putting it in all kinds of different locations trying all the various solutions other people have suggested. No dice. I can get other mods to work, just not this one. Bummer.
Doesn't appear to work. Have the full map mod installed as well, can swap between topographic and detailed - no change. Nothing to click on, no legend... Trying to turn off fog of war as instructed - Mod does not have settings, either in game or at the main menu. Nothing appears at all. Tried new saves, tried uninstalling and reinstalling - deleted the basic map even. Same result; there is no legend and there is no mod settings.
Running UI tweaks and couple of Senna's seatruck mods, wasn't looking to break the experience, just tune it up a bit. Shouldn't be any conflicts.
If anyone else runs into this, skip the run around. Go into the folder C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\SubnauticaZero\QMods\SubnauticaMap_BZ\maps\detailedmap
And open the maps.json,
Delete the line titled... Well... Something about fog. I deleted it. There's only 4 lines. Third one down. Boom. Detailed map is clear. No idea why this doesn't show up in mod settings, but there, I fixed it.
Unfortunately doing this broke my game; it just sits forever on a black screen, and doesn't even get to the warning about photosensitivity. BUT, my game has map settings once I'm loaded into a save game, so I was able to turn off the fog that way.
Sorry, but no map mod settings whatsoever in the mods tab.... Have both modmanager and map mod.... Any solution ? Grtz from Ninove, Belgium Nevermind, forget i was asking, figured it out : not going to the mods tab in main menu but go to the game options INGAME ( game has to load the maps ) ... looks great, many thanks for this !!!

Mod should work FOR ANY GAME UPDATE if Map mod works for you.
