I was too impatient and only found out later that there is NO problems, it's just me;;; The expressions work, just don't have the right timing probably due to the game it self.
Hello! Im on Mac and I can't seem to get the portraits to load. I've done everything in here and nothing happens.Im on Mac which makes it harder but other mods work?? so idk

Really love your art style and perception of these characters. I'd love to use this mod but for whatever reason, portrait mods (incl custom portraits HD) just... don't seem to work for me. Nothing comes up, nothing loads, nothing changes, etc. =/
Oh no! Have you checked that your BepinEx version is up-to-date? I think I ran into a similar issue when I was starting out with mods and it turned out that BepinEx had just updated & I had an old version.
I would also double check your file locations. Having the files and/or folders in the wrong location can make the game act like the the mods don't exist at all.
Sorry if you've already tried those! Modding can be frustrating - especially because sometimes it's a really weird edge case issue. If you're still running into issues, I highly recommend checking out the #game-mods section of the Sun Haven discord. There are a bunch of really knowledgeable and helpful people there who might be able to better diagnose what is happening.
Unfortunately I feel like I've been fighting with bepinex for the past week trying to get things to work. I'm on a mac which usually just makes modding that little bit more complicated. I did post on the sun haven reddit but it's just been crickets there, so maybe it's the discord next. I've looked at the comments here and on the portraits mod and there doesn't seem to be anyone else dealing with this, and I think it is on the bepinex end but I've been all over their github and uninstalled/reinstalled multiple times to no difference. Idk, hopefully I'll be able to find a solution and use the mod cause now that I've seen your version I prefer them to the game version and I feel like I'm missing out hahaha.
I think I found your reddit post and took a look at the log file. I did some digging around on the internet & did find this post, which did include a link to a helpful step-by-step Mac set up for BepInEx. But then I looked at your post again and it sounds like you might have already done all those steps, so I'm stumped.
I would highly recommend the Discord. The reddit Sun Haven community is kind of inactive, but the Sun Haven Discord is pretty active all day long (you can find the Discord invite link on the Sun Haven Reddit). Plus, a lot of the mod creators hang out in the Discord and have a lot more technical experience with Sun Haven & BepInEx than I do.

I figured it out... maybe?? The whole bepinex log still stumps me in regards to other mods cause the log doesn't update or do anything for me, BUT, I got your mod working so I'm happy. All I did was edit ".PNG" to ".png"... No idea why this would even cause issues, but whatever. Yay!
Yay! I'm so glad to hear you figured it out! I'll look into the PNG thing on my end, too. It's not the first time I've heard that my filename endings are weird -- it could be that I'm doing something wonky that's making the filename capitalize. So I'll look into that!
FREAKING THANK YOU! Your comment saved me after fighting it for an hour. I was able to right click all photos and convert to .png, it duplicated all the files adding "filename 2.png" to all the photos. Went in highlighted everything again and hit rename->find 2->replace with blank space and it fixed it up. Thank you, thank you, thank you! This is by far the most beautiful portrait mod to date
Hiii, i really want to use this mod but i dont get it how do portrait mod work. I have already download everything and put it in pluigins> Customportrait, i have changed the file PNG to png too, but anything work. I have another two mods that are working, so i think the BelpInEx is correct (i download it in nexus, the version windows)....What can i do? :(
