It's a great mod and I love the price display and management feature but sadly the mod breaks a lot of things in the game and needs an update. Features like manual save and hiring new employees are broken. Save option in the menu is missing and employee screen displays everyone as "hired". Also other glitches like money and any available skill points are displayed as 0 after loading into the game.

Make sure the "CheatEnabled"option is set to "true"; otherwise, it will not add new employees.
If it still does not work, try to regenerate the config file:
