What is this?

This hack is designed to alter specific events in Tactics Ogre so that the music which was used in the SNES version takes the place of any different choices in the remake. The reason why this hack has been made is because many have taken issue with the sound direction with the remake in certain areas, such as the first fight against Barbas, one of the central antagonists of the story, playing the peppy and triumphant Revolt, and two Vyce fights playing Theme of the Black Knights despite the character himself not being one of the Lodis Knights.

Not all the changes have been fixed in v0.1.0. These have been outlined in the section "Music oddities that haven't been edited". As this kind of event hacking is still in its infancy, there is still much to learn. For example, cutscenes which change their track midway through will need to be looked into further. As of right now though, I like to think that the most jarring changes have been altered.

How do I install this?

1) Extract the zip anywhere you like.
2) Go into X\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Tactics Ogre Reborn\Data\event\chapter and move the following files into a safe place (not the directory where you extracted the zip):
- chapter_1.dat
- chapter_2a.dat
- chapter_2b.dat
- chapter_3a.dat
- chapter_3b.dat
- chapter_3c.dat
- chapter_4.dat
(X will be the partition which has Program Files (x86))
3) Paste the contents from the extracted zip into the chapter directory. You may need to cut the old files from the chapter directory to avoid having to rename them all.
4) Enjoy!

You could just extract the zip in the chapter directory, but you may wish to keep the old versions of the .dat files.

ChaoticBrave: For making the hack of course!
Gibbed: For producing the tools for decrypting and encrypting the .dat files. Without them, this mod wouldn't have been possible.
