It's gradual and it can start at the beginning of the game. It just takes quite a bit to get to the full effect. The shower scene automatically puts the texture at max visibility. I'm also not sure if it's damage or number of hits although, my guess would be damage because it seems to show up quicker by taking hits from more powerful enemies.
I doubt it, unfortunately because that's part of the damage system. It adds that along with the cuts and it uses the same texture for both the cuts/dirt and the wet effect.
Unfortunately, that would also be a no because the dirt that's already there in the vanilla version would still be there and because the texture is the way it is, it would be VERY difficult, if not downright impossible, to remove it while keeping the wounds and blood.
Make sure you've got it placed in the correct folder: TheKillingAntidote\TheKillingAntidote\Content\Paks\~mods. That is NOT the Mods folder that comes with the game but a folder you have to create yourself inside the Paks folder. If you've got it in there, make sure you check which version you're using. Versions 1, 1.5, and 2 use the damage system and requires her taking damage for her to get the sheen. Versions 3 and 4 do NOT require taking damage and she has quite the gloss from the start.
thank you for answer, I do have it in correct folder inside Paks. I have version 5 with Dirty Girl, but that is not the problem I think.....the 50LessDamage.pak doesn't work either :/
Make sure the folder is named ~mods. EXACTLY that, the tilde and lower case letters and double check that you've got the folder in the right spot, as well. I've tested all my mods and they all work but they do require being inside that folder. Now, Dirty Girl requires she take damage for EVERY version for the wounds and dirt to show up. My reply was incorrect and i apologize, i thought this was the Glossy mod and not Dirty Girl. Every version of dirty girl requires taking damage and if you want the look of the screenshots, you'll need to take quite a significant amount of damage.
yes, I did rename it, but it is still the same:/ with or without tilde it just doesnt seem to work....I always check how that damage looks by letting zombies strike me till death, which doesnt seem to take long even with the 50 %less, just four or five strikes.....and she doesnt look like she have wounds at all, or very little with right lightning...before you ask I do have the Hide wounds effect unchecked.....I don't know what else I am doing wrong...I can delete other two paks left in the folder, but I don' think it will help me solve the problem :/ but thank you for answer.....
The person above mentioned that they had the Enemies Do Less Damage Mod installed. Now, I have no idea how the damage system works. If it's off of hits or damage, I don't know but it's possible that mod is messing with it. I've installed and tested all versions of this mod multiple times, obviously, I had to get the screenshots and it's never failed to work. Content/Paks/~mods is the folder it needs to be in. Make sure you unpacked it and the file extension is .pak and not .7z and make sure you didn't accidentally check the "Hide Wounds" option in game. I guess if you wanted an easy way to test it, you could do what I did and start Centralized Control Area on easy. Kill the first wave and go grab 10 or 20 painkillers from your box and then when you get to a wave that has Squirters, let a group of them stand near you and keep walking into their close range spit attack, healing as needed. It takes quite a bit of damage to show up like it does in the screenshots.
now I can't even open the game anymore...it says failed to open descriptor file TheKillingAntidote.uproject :D:D I am gonna let it rest for awhile, maybe wait for another update, and then I will test what you said.....
Someone already asked me about a dismemberment mod and while it would most likely be possible, it would take A LOT of work. You'd have to adjust her mesh to be missing extremities and make sure that they didn't deform the other parts and then write some script or something that tells the game when to switch to the dismembered mesh. My skills at 3D modeling are almost nothing but even if they weren't, I wouldn't want to go through all of that. I could see that REALLY getting on my nerves.
You mean for Jodi? I doubt it. You'd probably need to edit her mesh in ways where it would be possible to remove certain things without it warping or deforming. Even if you did that, you'd have to write code to tell the game which mesh to use in whatever situation she would be dismembered. I guess it's possible but it would take A LOT of work.
Hello, my mod doesn't work for some reason. My jodi gets beaten like me when my dad was drunk but she doesn't look bloody like in your images, do you know if there's an issue? or incompatibility with other mods?
"My jodi gets beaten like me when my dad was drunk" Damn, that was kind of out of left field. I hope that was a joke, sorry if it wasn't. As for the mod, there would be conflicts with any other mod that mess with the dirt and wounds as there's only one texture that handles all of that. If you have no conflicts, make sure the "Hide Wounds" option is not checked in the menu. If that's not the problem, make sure you put it into the right folder. The game comes with a Mods folder already installed but that's not the right folder. Go into your game directory under Content and then into the folder called Paks and create a folder in there named ~mods and put it in there. That's the folder I use and I've had no issues where as with the vanilla Mods folder, I've had some issues with that one in the past.
oh sorry i was being hyperbolic, yea it was a joke (mostly). im pretty sure i got the mod on the correct folder since its where i put all my other mods and they're all working. My jodi do get bloody but it looks like the default wound and not like your images where jodi looks like she got into a fight with a bear.
I kind of thought you were but I wasn't 100% sure. Also wasn't sure if you meant literally or in universe. My bad. As for the location of the mods. All the mods I make go into the ~mods folder inside Content/Paks. You have to create this folder yourself. The game does come with a Mods folder but there's issues with it and it's just easier to put them in ~mods.
oh yeah the ~mods folder was it! i got it working now thanks also i think ur texture is pretty cool u did a nice job! i also used to do some texture job before and i can tell the same blood png file i 'borrowed' lol
Funny story about that, actually. When I first went in here to start working on this, I noticing THEY were using one of the same textures I had found just randomly through Google search. I started laughing.

Can you make a version where the scratches don't disappear after shower?
