I had the last drop on the realism of Joel's lives, half a blow would have been enough. This game is about the cycle of violence. Violence begots more violence. There isn’t a “good” person in this game, just a bunch of people fixated on revenge as they try to survive in an already dangerous world, and sometimes relishing in that as they carry out their violent acts. It plays on the aspect of humans who get consumed by greed and selfish desire, who are willing to throw anybody in harm’s way to achieve what they want, and really, you’re not supposed to root for Joel, Ellie, or Abby, all of whom have done irredeemable things. I like them all as characters, and they’re a victim of circumstance, but damn, they’ve all done horrific things for years.
I’ve seen many voice their disdain that Ellie ultimately decides not to kill Abby, saying its unsatisfying, with Ellie’s hands around Abby’s throat as she successfully begins drowning her, but relenting when she remembers Joel again, alive and healthy, and realises that she’s angry at herself for never having forgiven him for the events of the first game, and that killing Abby won’t bring her any happiness or relief - and most importantly, it won’t bring Joel back. She sees herself and Joel in Abby and Lev, and doesn’t want to take that away from the young boy, who has already lost so much, and has been ostracised by the Serephites for wanting to be male.
I love this game’s ending, which is supported by the rest of the game, instead of one of them killing the other. It is perfectly set up to show how much of a toll this is taking on both Ellie and Abby, and one killing the other ultimately would not have had the same impact. It is clear that, by the end, both had felt that they had hurt each other enough, and have lost the hunger to avenge their loved ones. Ellie is finally able to let go, and though she has thrown away everything that she ever had, she can begin to move forward.
Ellie’s greatest fear, which she admitted to Sam in TLOU1, came to life, driven by her need for revenge. “Being by myself. I’m scared of ending up alone.”
Why do you assume we didn’t understand what you said? Do you think what you’re saying is some profound truth that requires your explanation for us to comprehend? There, everything is a little worse, as I understand it. Neil Darkman is simply a sellout. It is unlikely that he is gay himself and it is unlikely that he likes women who look like men. In the same years when the 2nd part was being developed, it was not only Sony that began to actively promote all sorts of extreme sexual perversions through games, movies, TV series and talk shows, hiding behind tolerance. A simple example: the Democrats bought Disney, and Disney bought Marvel. And then LGBT propaganda began in their teenage superhero movies. A child is a blank slate. If you hang LGBT flags in elementary schools and constantly tell children how wonderful sexual perversions are, then of course there will be more gays among them. Which is what happened. The almost tenfold increase in the number of gays and lesbians per capita in the United States over the past ten years can be explained precisely by persistent advertising of this through movies and games, as well as directly in schools. I believe that children should not be told who they should be. This is a bad way to combat overpopulation, the deliberate corruption of children and teenagers cannot be justified by anything. Bill Gates is wrong in his lectures, overpopulation is not as dangerous as he thinks. And the methods they use to combat it are simply disgusting. For example, they ruined a good game. LGBT fans worldwide make up only 5 percent of the population. Commercially, it makes absolutely no sense to insert transgender people and gays into films and games, it only reduces the target audience each time and causes nothing but disgust in the majority of humanity. But for the sake of propaganda of all this, they do not disdain even to lose the target audience and money. Take the latest Snow White. It was the nauseating propaganda of hatred towards men and the agenda in general that led to the complete failure of the film at the box office. People are not crazy, and when they try to hammer something into their heads through films and games, most see it clearly.

If Abby's story made you uncomfortable, maybe it’s because the game forced you to empathize with someone that was written to make you hate them. That doesn’t make the writing bad. It makes it challenging for the audience. As for the constant complaints about “agenda”. Let’s be honest, a muscular woman existing, a trans boy existing, or a gay woman existing is not propaganda. It’s representation. These people exist in the real world regardless if you agree with their lifestyles. Putting them in fiction doesn’t push an agenda it reflects reality. If you can suspend disbelief to fight mushroom zombies, but not to accept that humanity is diverse, that says more about your bias than the game’s. Some of you want Joel to be some badass action hero forever, and that’s fine. But stories evolve. Actions have consequences. Joel's death wasn’t just narratively justified. it was necessary. Not to shock, but to challenge. The same goes for Ellie’s journey, her choices, and yes, even her moment of mercy.
Not everyone has to like this game. But blaming its existence on some cultural conspiracy just avoids the more honest conversation: it made you feel something you didn’t want to feel. And that’s what art is supposed to do.

The first part was a masterpiece. Then the second part was not allowed to be created by the original screenwriter, it was created only by Darkman. And the plot became a pathetic parody of the original. The popularity of the first part is ensured by the fact that you lead a girl in a dangerous world across the country, with the noble goal of saving all of humanity. In the second part, angry mad people kill each other without any goals at all. Such a film would have immediately failed at the box office. Such a game would have failed. Only the popularity and ingenious plot of the first part ensure the sales of the second part. If the second part had been released without the first, people would have just spat on it, the plot is absolutely incompetent, and the characters are brainless sadists. Darkman took and ruined someone else's creation. And now we'll never see the real second part, that's what he did. I hope Bruce Streiley will write a book one day with a continuation of the original story, I would really like to know what happened next. Firstly, Ellie is not even a lesbian in the first part, the addition where she kisses a girl was already added by Darkman during the PS4 re-release to justify the second part.
