I appreciate the service for this mod, but as of the release of the Violence layer, i regret to inform you this mod is now obsolete as Hakita has officially added in support for custom Cyber Grind music. This mod served me well in the meantime o7
hi, i have a problem, the mod downloaded without issues, but it cant seem to find any of the audio files i put in. i installed it with r2modman and thought that if i download it manually it might work but it didnt. it doesnt register any audio files i put into the cybergrind\music folder. i tried audio files i downloaded from youtube videos, tried recording my own audio with action and put it there, tried putting it in audacity and exporting in different kb/s, tried all the formats (mp3, ogg, wav), ive been trying to fix things myself, but nothing worked so far.
(nvm sorry, turns out i used the wrong ultrakill folder this whole time)
These files may not be valid mp3 tracks. For example, some Youtube -> mp3 download tools can corrupt the resulting file: it looks like an mp3 and could even be played with most players when in fact it's an mp4. I'd recommend to use third-party tools like Audacity to ensure the file integrity in your case.
Maybe at some point. The difference between my implementation and that of XanthicDragon is that you don't have to split the track into two different segments, every track operates as a single clip. But that would be a nice touch, I'll think about it
thx. I had some mods i made for the old one that were flushed with my failing hdd. This update gave me so encouragement to remake them and launch here thx.
I've run into a problem with the mod. I'm very new to modding so it might just be a rookie mistake, but I've tried what I can think of to fix and nothing's changed. After following all the steps and installing everything in what I believe to be the right places, no folder shows up in the in-game music menu, it just takes me straight to the regular list. f4 doesn't do anything either. My guess is the file location got messed up during installation, but I can't find out how, or why it messes it up. I'm using the 64 bit BepInEx file, but I've also tried the x86 one.
After following every step for installation, the file location for the mod is exactly this, starting from the main ULTRAKILL folder:
Extracting the files creates the extra ones by default, but even after clearing it up to exactly what the description shows, it still doesn't work. I had to manually create the plugins folder, and the CybergrindMusicExplorer folder is identical to the one in the mod description. I'm lost for solutions.
I did this, and it still doesn't work. No menu for the custom songs, no f4, nothing. I've reinstalled both the mod and BepInEx several times, made sure I did it all right, and yet, still nothing. Directory hierarchy is exactly as you said it should be, I've tried all 3 types of files, nothing at all. I've tried every single thing I can think of, and no results. The only thing I can think that may be causing it is that when I redownloaded BepInEx, I had to manually create the plugins folder, or move the plugins folder that contains the CybergrindMusicExplorer straight to BepInEx, since BepInEx doesn't already come with the plugins folder already when I download it. Please help, I want Doom music in the Cybergrind
Managed to finally get it working. Turns out I was f*#@ing up one tiny detail in the BepInEx installation process every single time I tried to work it. Mod works great, I love it
I accidentally bound the "Open Menu" keybind to Left mouse button. I can't change it back now. What do i do? How do i fix this? I've uninstalled the mod, etc etc and nothing works.
Hey! Please go to ULTRAKILL\Preferences folder and open LocalPrefs.json file in a text editor. There you will find a string containing cyberGrind.musicExplorer.keyBinding.CGMEMenu. Change a value after the colon to 285 and restart Ultrakill, it'll reset hotkey back to F4.
Also, my buddy just mentioned that I should try asking you if you could possibly look into adding a feature that would let players have a "shuffle" option for certain sounds? like when you die, it'll play a random noise called "end#" or whatever?
You're welcome :D Actually, your buddy got the point, I was thinking about custom effects randomization, most likely I'll include it in the next release. And just in case, there's a thunderstore release as well, so you won't miss it when this feature when it's available
