I need help. I'm 99.9% sure I'm doing something wrong but, when I update to v.2.4.1 my raft sinks about half-way down. I tried deleting the .cfg file, changing every option in the floating section (Average, Top, Bottom, Central, Custom) with a reboot in between. Nothing changes. I rolled back to v.2.2.5 and it works great except I can't cook. Is there a new setting that I need to change?
I cant raise the anchor on the boat, I've been trying for hours now.. it says press left shift, I hold wheel and press left shift and nothing happens, anyone else had this issue??
I've got a bug where I can't deconstruct any part of my boat with my hammer, even if I destroy it with an axe the building part degrades but doesn't disappear. I feel like I've tried everything so far to fix it, but nothing works any solutions??
So I love this mod, but I was wondering, at some point will the raft quit auto destructing? Also lol these "hull" pieces. The bow of the raft is a hull piece, and the water level lines up with the top of a hull piece. Why would anyone want a raft with its BOW under water? Could we get some cool design pieces that function as ship walls, ribs, bow and so on that not HULL pieces. A few new figureheads would be awesome as well.
But back to my first question. I built a raft of wonder, it was stunning. I took my family out for a cruse and they fell off/through about every 2-3 minutes, then entire segments just vanished, but only for one person or another not all. Then I manage to limp this wreck to land where I built a portal to get us home. When I returned to salvage what I could of the raft, all the vanilla pieces were fine but ALL of the Valheimraft parts had snapped to a single point and were just hanging in the air like a blob of ship parts. Hmmm my cooking spite were also in that blob so at least one vanilla item functioned strangely. It looked like a mico black-hole tried to eat my ship.
It only ever happened to me when I left the area of the raft for a long enough time and then returned to it NOT through a portal. When parts become disconnected, at least in singleplayer, logging out or exiting the game was always a perfect solution: the parts get restored to their original positions.
after the most recent update to the mod, my small ship will occasionally jolt up from the water and send me flying above the world tree. anyone else having this issue?
oh so that's what happened. My boat isn't in the water yet. I was attaching ropes when I found myself somewhere in space. The small map still showed I was by my boat. Didn't know what to do so after logout login etc I console Goto 0 0, thinking that might be where you first arrive. At that point a very fiery portal appeared. When it finished, I could just see the land miles below, so started dropping. At the same time this column of stone appeared.. It was about a drakkar ship length in diameter. It went from the visible ground to out of sight beyond the world tree. I couldn't pick axe it,. I could alter the texture a bit by trying to level it, but otherwise it was an immovable nasty looking blank stone column right in the middle of my main port. Tried lots of things, and ran check files on steam. Still there. Except this morning when I logged in it was gone. Weird and wonderful are the ways of Odin. So it's to do with the ValheimRaft mod?
I do have a problem with a ship. I use version 2.2.3. aince I had performance issue with 2.2.4.
My problem is simple: I deleted the part which I call "Chunky T-wood" by accident. I could no clipp a new one in. The ship did not disintegrate. So now I am using a ship without the inital chunky wood. The ship works fine. It is a lot lower in the water now. But it seems to be realistic.
Will the ship be ok without that inital part? I usually keep the littel piece of chunkyness on the Orlop deck and make it part of a storage solution. I was rearanging boxes and must have hit the delete button on the wrong piece.
If it would have been instant death, I could have restored everything right away. ( Like a gjall or troll attack on the boat). Now I am playing with the boat, but Iam not sure if this is a feature or a bug.
I think the issue with boats floating above water may have to do with the side hull pieces that are curved in a half U shape. I noticed that my ship was no longer touch the water once I put these on the ship. I also notice that when i attach by a specific corner like "top left" it actually uses the bottom left/right and which got me thinking that these pieces might be in theory.... upside down. In that sense they are pushing the boat out of the water rather than allowing it to rest on it.

=) Just a theory though.
